Roman Micromosaic

If you ever wanted to have a micro-mosaic, you need to see this book. It covers both past products and current artists. Small items, jewelry, boxes, paperweights, etc., are shown life sized, while pictures and furniture have some enlargements to show the mosaics. Either way, bring your magnifying glass. Cheap tourist jewelry need not apply, as only museum quality work is included. Text is in Italian and English.Where the mosaic is based on another art form, like paintings, the source and original maker is identified. Modern work is identified to the artist, and there are some interesting pieces in this section. Glossary and bibliography included, as well as a list of identified mosaicists from the past. It is hard to imagine a better book for browsing this specialty art form.

Before wrapping this and giving it away for a Christmas gift, I looked through the book and enjoyed it. It was impossible to believe some of the photos were made of tile. Hopefully, the recipient was as pleased as I was.

This is a useful volume to see many forms of micro mosaics. However the production quality and photography are not great.

fab bookfor me, i only look at photos.all pieces are clearly photographed, and so many of them.a very valuable reference book indeed!

Contenu très riche en détails et en diversité.Très inspirant à qui s'interesse à la micromosaique ou la mosaique classique . Apporte des éléments artistiques nouveaux non mentionnés dans les livres traditionnels de mosaique.
