What is the decorative face of the buckle made of?

It is the same material the buckle is made of. The decorative portion looks engraved or stamped on the face of the metal buckle. It isn't a separate piece or application.

Anyone have an idea how to remove the buckle after fastening it? Need to trim the belt shorter, so I have to take the buckle off.

There's a "01 carbon fiber" buckle listed on the site. is it truly carbon fiber? if so, i trust it won't set off the tsa detectors?

The description, in part says: "Made of high quality zinc alloy". I suspect the carbon fiber is only an inlay on the front surface of this buckle. I just checked a similar buckle and found that most of the metal is non-ferrous (not magnetic) but there are some places that attract a magnet. Considering the quality of folks at airport TSA stations, they will treat anything that looks like metal as something that gets a ride through the x-ray machine. Hope you enjoy your ratchet belt.
