These are great and this is my second one. I have large fluorescent fixtures in my basement recessed ceiling with 4X4 ft tubes (but we only use 2 bulbs per fixture). The jimwhen LED kit is a 2X4 ft replacement which is perfect for my use. Installation is incredibly easy. Just open up the fixture, remove the heavy ballast, remove the tubes, remove the wiring to the tubes and the bulb sockets, then add the magnetic power supply and magnetic LED 4' strips , wire the power supply to the 120V input, close the fixture cover, and away you go. My light fixture lost about 10 pounds of weight, but the light is slightly brighter. Takes a half-second before it comes on but who cares? The only thing I don't like is that the wiring to the power is not copper. so each wire nut has a copper single strand wire and a stranded non-copper wire. Make sure you have a good tight connection. Could be a connection issue at some point but I have had one of these installed for 2+ years with no issues yet (knock on wood). The first one I purchased a few years ago was packaged very poorly, but the new one was packaged much better. I order these when a ballast goes out. They don't make these massive ballasts any more and they were too expensive anyway. Keep making these LED replacement kits jimwhen - as they are very nicely designed! Will definitely purchase again.

This is Great! It arrived fast and installed easily. It's supper bright, just what I needed. This seems like a better design than the others because the magnets are in a channel of the "bulb" and not just double faced taped to it - to heat up and separate, and fall. Its great! Sure there is a millisecond lag when you turn the light on, but I don't notice it anymore. So happy with this.

Bright lights replaced most all my old bulbs in about 10 mins fast easy looks cheap but works and there led no heat less energy much cheaper than going back the old way

Positives: Easy install...ballast adheres to existing fixture and light strips plug in easily. Super bright once installed. Cons: Out of4 lights installed. 3 had one strip that dropped down from the fixture onto the lens. The magnetic strip stayed put, but the actual led strip dropped down. I used a bit of latex caulk to attache to back of strip and re-attach and that has been holding. since i did that another one dropped (not one that fixed) so did the same. Still you shouldn't have to do this and seems like a defect. Other con as noted in some other reviews one of my units arrived with no ballast. which was annoying...am returning that one and having replacement shipped. One other nit, the dimmable cables should really be capped if not used, and there's nothing in instructions saying to do that, and the power leads coming off the ballast are not stripped sufficiently (too short) so you need to strip a bit more insulation off before attaching them to power and wire nut. If they could address these two items I'd give 5 stars as lights are super bright and rest of install was easy. Update, vendor shipped new unit with ballast, and I believe first one missing was an issue with box being damaged un shipping. Tube light version also had strong round magnets as opposed to mag tape abd they are holding with no problems

Easy to install and priced well. I had a older flourescent fixture that kept burning thru the lamps. I didn't want a retro fit kit that had me changing wiring and the "tombstones". This kit fir my needs and the install took little time.

lights are much brighter than before. My cousin who is an electrician installed two sets in just under one hour.

OK, so I'm not normally the one to write back reviews and i do give people the benefit of the doubt. I ordered these lights because of the dimming capability. I read all the reviews, and questions about them. I saw that they had problems with packaging, broken lights, going out in the middle and other things but i bought them. I ordered 2 of the 4 strip LED lights. I ordered them at the same time in one order. The orders were shipped separately. Once received, one box was 2in x2in square and just over 4ft long. It had look like it had been in a boxing match. In the middle, the box was taped together because it appeared to have been cut in half at one point and you could hear the strips inside. The second box was 8in x 8in square. Inside of it was a box just like the first box but looked brand new. The smaller box was just rattling around inside the big box. Upon opening the first small beat up box, the strips fell out. There was nothing but the lights. No wire nuts, or instructions. We opened up the second small box. They seemed brand new. The strips were in foam shadowing, and wire nuts in a baggie. The manual was shredded though and was no more detailed then the pictures on the product description. They said, turn lights off, remove cover, remove lights, remove ballast, install lights, install their ballast, reinstall cover and turn on lights. When we removed the LED strips out of the newer looking box on of the LED strips was not connected, in fact the connector fell onto the floor (see picture). After fiddling with this thinking i could snap it back into place, i realized it wasn't worth it. I returned both LED orders. So word of caution, i would seriously reconsider ordering from here. Hope this helps everyone in the future.

Works great! Easy install, except…they had two wires for a dimmer switch, but they don’t tell you anywhere what to do with them?! I just capped them and it’s working just fine.

Received this today and it did literally take me 5 mins to install. The magnets make this a piece of cake to work with. I installed these in my existing kitchen fixture that's behind stain glass and it's more than bright enough. So happy with it. Instant on and off, no flickering. Highly recommend.

One of the transformers failed after 6 months. Contacted the Vendor and they shipped out a replacement and I received it in about 5 days. No problems, no issues. Very good support. Thank you Joe

My kitchen ceiling fluorescent light bar started to act up on turning on, after 15 years of usage. I didn't want to replace the light casing. Between misfires, to not turning on...I changed the tubes thinking it may solve my issues. It came obvious I had to replace the balistes. I installed the four magnetic light strips along with the power supply, connected the wires to the ones my former balistes were hooked to, then voila, but to my surprise, 4 lights turned on was way too bright compared to what we were used to. Therefore you're getting the option of disconnecting 2 out of the 4. The level of lights was perfect. I set the warmth to sunset.

My kitchen had an older 4 tube florescent light and I wanted to keep the wood trimmed fixture that matches the cabinets. This kit installed easily inside the existing fixture and is nice and bright :) I would have preferred that the power wires be trimmed back a bit more, but the installation went smoothly.
