I used these on a renaissance-ish gown and they worked very well! They were not taking the full weight of the dress, though, there is a hidden lacing panel underneath. But they kept the top layer closed and looked quite good. I recommend sewing them on with coordinating gold thread if you want them to blend in well.

Feels heavy, looks nice, delicate work. Haven't been able to use them yet, so I don't know whether they'll be mainly decorative or functional as well...

I had purchased a lovely skirt from Scarlet Darkness a while ago but one of the clasps broke in the wash so I bought these as a replacement and they are even better than the originals! They are very good quality - very sturdy and don't look cheap at all. I will definitely purchase again if I decide to spruce up some of my other pieces.

I was under the impression they would have been a sturdier metal and not feel like they are so brittle, they might snap. They are pretty and easy to open and close.

I used a pair of these to provide a closure for a jacket that had no buttons. They are great because they don't need an overlap of the jacket to have closure. They have not been used under any type of stress, but they seem sturdy enough.

I stitched these onto a damask cloak to replace the cheap black ribbon ties it came with. They look so correct, whether Medieval, RenFaire, Victorian is desired, these do the trick.
