what is the Amp-Hr rating?

Your welcome FYI if it's a 4.0 ah genuine Milwaukee battery it will say 4.0 on the side, otherwise it 3.0 ah like the one shown here.

Does this have only the three cells making it as compact as the 1.5 & 2.0 batteries

How do you know this isn't a counterfeit? I've seen them on Aliexpress, the big Chinese website for $40 shipped.

If you buy from a third party that's not an authorized Milwaukee vendor you're taking a chance on getting a fake. Buying from a local store like Ace there's little to no chance of being ripped off. Knock off batteries don't last and 50/50 that the label on the outside is exaggerating the capacity of the cells on the inside. Lots of people have pulled them apart to see that 3ah batteries only had 2ah cells inside. They don't even remove the writing on the cells inside the case. lol.

Is this the newer version with red lithium or older that just lithium ion? the pictures/ description are sort of conflicting. the title even says red

I'm not exactly sure what you mean about newer version. Simply put, this battery fits the M12 series tools and in particular contrast to the standard battery, this one called XC Extra Capacity means it has about double the life between charges so you have power for a longer perid of time, and charge it less often. Each battery is rated per amp hours and the standard batery that is provided with the tool kits is a 1.5 mah, where this one is a 3.0 mah or Milli Amp Hour/Amp Hour
