MTD Genuine Parts Blade Adapter Kit - Mower Blades 1997 and After

Excellent replacement for OEM part. I had damaged my old blade keyway retainer, so blade was not really attached to the crank like it should have been. Had it just about spin loose once, then I decided maybe I better not cut with it until it was replaced. This one slid right on and secured blade to mower as nature and industry intended. I feel safer now. : - )

Works perfectly for a 20inch blade replacement for a hyper tough mower

This item will NOT fit all lawn mowers. I have a Home Depot troybuilt lawn mower purchased in 2023 and after all the grief I went thru to get the old adapter of. I came to realize this part would not fit and is about 1/4" to small on the ID to fit my lawn mower. Had to put the old adapter back on, but at least i got to clean the blade. And I cant even return this part because it arrived so late.

This part fits to hold the lawnmower blade in a balance and tight on the motor shaft. First I tried to install the part onto the shaft. It didn't fit. I had to remove metal inside of the part. After many temp. installs, the part went on the motor shaft level and complete. This is why I didn't give 5 stars.

Two of these have broken on me in 2 years...and I couldn't be happier. One broke when I hit a grounded piece of rebar and the other a large rock. Both times this adapter did it's job and broke in half, SAVING MY SPINDLE AND BLADE. Many people give negative reviews to this product complaining that it is the weak point and keeps breaking. But that the point of it, to break when you hit something solid. When this breaks you then have to pay 6 or 7 dollars to replace it, instead of 80 - 100 dollars to replace a bent spindle or some random motor part that was detroyed due to the stress of the blade hitting something solid. The moral of the story is, either stop hitting solid objects in your yard while mowing, or stop complaining that you have to replace a $6 part from doing so and be thankful you aren't paying $100 to replace parts of the motor.

This does not fit a 2005 Troy Built with the Honda 160 motor. The shaft is 25 mm which would not begin to fit this. The hole in this product was slightly smaller than 23 mm of this product and the height was about half the factory one on my mower. description should of had the dimensions

Wife hit a large tree root with the push mower and broke the blade adapter. This replacement fitnjust like original equipment, no issues.

Like many mentioned, it broke after 20 minutes on 1st usage. Adapter should be made of better material rather than some pewter variant.

The product shows th black grade 8 bolt but it arrived white bolt that I have issues in the past so I returned due to miss leading pictures, I broked the bolt afew times. Product was genrely fine.

Fits perfectly on a DeWalt mower to swap to a different blade.
