Great Generator
Ran this for 5 hours straight to break in the motor. I thought I ordered dual fuel but turns out it’s gas only. Got as a gift for my hubby. He loves it. He said it’s nice because it is light enough he can still pick it up and put in the bed of his truck. He ordered all the parts to wire in to our main panel. Important to have a lock out switch in this application allowing only the main breaker on or the generator breaker on, never both and never fed through a home outlet. Run 6 gauge wire from panel to twist lock outlet and the use an appropriate cord from your 50 A slot on the generator to the new outlet you wired outside your house from the panel. This is a powerful generator and can be used as we are for backup power for the house as well. Tank holds 6.6 gallons and after 5 hours still had 3/4 tank. Based on that I would expect 16-20 hours backup on a tank depending on usage demand. The remote start is cool but the machine has to be in the on position to operate by remote. Not sure but leaving on for standby seems it would drain the battery. Correct me if I am wrong. Great addition for North West winters and job-site power. Be sure to not get too excited and fire up before adding the included oil and be sure to turn on the fuel valve. I like that there is a removable filter screen in the gas tank. Wheels and supports assemble in minutes! Buying a 40 gal tank to add to my 5 - 5 gallon cans to keep more fuel on hand. This will allow me to have 65 gallons backup to a topped off 6.6 generator tank. That could net over 200 hours of run time! Over a week!!! Not wishing for a power outage but will be cool to test this hulk out.

... looking forward for the next power outage
Easy setup. Heavy duty, well made machine. Started in two seconds with one touch of the remote. For an 80 year old with heart problems, I am so grateful for the easy start. It is a bit loud; but, I plan to build a sound dampening house for it. Just got it today and looking forward for the next power outage, (which we have too many of in the Pacific Northwest). Thanks Westinghouse and Amazon for the great service.

Build quality seems quite good much better than am older Generac I had for many years gave to my son
I ordered a one with packaging damage and since it is so heavy and hard to handle basically a forklift item around 200lbs I expected some minor damage as was the case (shipping box was shredded & was not crated with any wood or Styrofoam and acceptable based on what I bought and price which was all easily tweaked to make it look new. Wheels were solid (I hated by pneumatic old Generac ones) & not hard to assemble (I greased the shafts but the wheels came with pairs of sealed ball bearings a big plus) and came with a spark plug tools and combo wrench for the shock mount feet bracket bolts which I Loctited. Simply filling the crankcase with 1.16 qts of 10W-30 oil and plugging the easy harness for the battery together was quick. I like the main breaker and logical order of the controls. Battery 2A charger was included and works. The feature of the push button electronic start (has pull start also) and start/ stop FOB is a gigantic upgrade from the very old Generac I had (that was only pull start and had engine common issue of valve spring retainers (replaced with automotive style thick solid stamped steep cup style cracked as it got heated up running full blast building fencing idle CTRL bypassed and idle control burnt out which was $$, idle solenoid was weak and vibrated so had was not strong enough to hold idle). Anyway this Westinghouse gas only model is made (assembled?) in USA Alabama IIRC which was a but plus. Gas tank capacity is good @ 6.6 Gal IIRC. The large fuel filler cap and screen and tank guage is large and much better than my very old one integrated with the cheesy cap.

Westinghouse makes a Work Horse!!
July 2023 I purchased this generator mainly for when the power goes out to run the essential systems because of my wife's health issues. Once the generator was delivered, I unboxed it and did the minor assembly in under 10 minutes with the wrench provided. Then I read through the Westinghouse manual ( please read your manual there is some really good information on understanding your generator because not all generators are not created equal) I charged the battery provided, added the Westinghouse oil provided , double checked the spark plug again with the tool provided. Westinghouse has a cool little tool kit in a branded tool pouch! For my first start I used the pull start, It started right up with no problem. It plugged right into my newly installed 50 amp inlet box and I did a critical system check. This Westinghouse WGEN9500 worked awesome! I could not be happier with my purchase. Since I will be running it outside I also purchased the Westinghouse WGenTent Generator Running Cover for Open Frame Generators. Fits perfectly! After I shut the generator down and let it cool, I wiped it down with a dry cloth to get any outside dust off of it before I put it in the shed. I know I will be able to rely on the little 457cc work horse for many years to come. I even gave my generator a name "Elektro" Westinghouse diehards will know the name. The quality is very admirable, it is a beautifully designed generator. I did my research on line and Westinghouse in particular was highly rated and you get a lot of generator for the money. For the price Westinghouse does not skimp on their product and you can't go wrong owning the WGEN9500. April 2025 It has been almost 2 years since I purchased this generator. This past weekend we had bad storms, power out. Plugged this generator into the house receptacle for 50 amp service that I installed so it would feed directly into the main electrical box. It ran my whole house for 2 days. It actually ran all the 110 I turned off all the 220 and 240 which was central air and water heater. It ran the heat and internet all the lights and televisions. We only turned on what we needed and on the 6.6 gallon gas tank it ran for 12 hours at a time. We may have gotten a little more out of it but I didn't want to run it dry. I am just so happy with this purchase, it really is a work horse!! Store you generator correctly trickle charge the battery and your good to go.

easy setup and breakin process
plenty of documentation came with this so setup and breakin process was easy. having the meter right on the panel makes it nice to see power usage/availability is good to know running hours for maintenance schedule down the road. it feels like it is a bit loud but 70-80db is allowed for my area and that is standing pretty close to it. much less further away and fairly quiet from in the house.

Initial Review
****Initial review*** This is for the WGen9500 gas only model, arrived on a pallet, perfect! Think it depends on the who is delivering it though, they offered to take it off the pallet but I have pallet forks on my tractor so I told them to leave it. Shipping arrived about 4 days early, which was fine with me, I selected the drop off shipping vice the I want it on this day shipping. Once I got it in the garage, it was about a 15 min set up from cutting it out of the box to start up. Very easy set up, install wheels, install rubber feet, attach battery, add oil, program key fob, add gas. Fired up extremely fast for having an empty gas tank. I was really surprised at how fast it started up for being shipped dry. I ran it for about 30 mins, shut it down for about 45 mins while I did some other stuff, started it back up let it run for a bit then applied a small electrical load to it (mid size shop vac) let that run for 10-15 mins, then plugged in a fridge and let it run the fridge for a couple hours, barely even put a load on it. Noise... you couldnt stand over it and hold a normal conversation, or talk on the phone next to it, but its fairly quiet for the size. Generator produced around 80-90Db's according to my phone app. I could hear it running inside the house near the generator, but nothing annoying. Noise was zero in my bedroom on the opposite end of the house. Your noise will vary depending on a number of things, I plan on putting it in an enclosure, to help with noise outside the house as well as inside. I will say I could hold a normal conversation on my back porch with it running under load. You could hear it but it was quieter than a lawn mower running. Overall my first impression with this generator was its great. Reading the reviews on amazon I was expecting at least a dead battery, but this one was gtg right out of the box. I will be wiring in a sub panel to run ac, lights, internet etc during a hurricane or other power outage with this generator so this review will be updated in the future with more use! Build quality is good, seems like a solid generator. #fivestars

Works great and seems well made.
Had it for a couple of years. Well made and works great. Loud as any other generator. The only issue I had was the exhaust manifold gasket was improperly installed, I just re-installed it correctly.

Even ball bearing wheels to move it with ease ! Wgen9500/12500
At a really good price for a 12500 watt / 9500w running generator with a 50a socket and a 30a with 4 110 outlets. Has loads of nice features — wheels are big and wide with a nice leverbar to move it around, making it way easier to move than my old 3500 or our 6500/8000 that has knife edge wheels that cut into sand. Comes with 10w30 quart of “westinghouse” oil, which i will likely upgrade to 10w30 full synthetic euro-spec castol after the first hour of use. Going to install a soft-start one my home AC and run it with this and mainly LED lights, 1 refrigerator and two small freezers. In handling there was a 1” gouge into the sturdy frame - will ask amazon about that — clean metal was showing so it was pretty recent. 6.6 gallon tank will get through the night.. btw - my uncle did the math on the big G-22KW with buried tank - talking $22K PLUS fuel. Getting oversized isnt smart when Gas supply post-hurricane is an issue AND gas stations are gouging. Figure over $100, up to 200 a day for fuel and you can have it all. Or get a comfy window AC unit, a fan and extension cords with splitters. 6.6g for 12 hours is nice. Might also run a quiet $300 inverter to keep food cold 24 hrs. Then run the big boy to cool the house with central air from noon to 10 pm.
