ZLINE 30 in. Island Mount Range Hood in Stainless Steel & Glass (GL5i-30)

I purchased this Zline range hood (GL5i-30) and after a few months, the display had a light out and the lights stopped working. I reached out to Zline and they sent me replacement parts along with videos to do the replacement. I replaced both parts. The panel worked but the lights still didn't work. Zline then sent me a new circuit board with a video. Based on the video, I knew it was too complicated for me to do on my own. I told Zline I could not do this on my own, I was not a technician. I was told that they don't cover anything but replacement parts. So I paid a tech to come out to do the replacement, they sent the wrong circuit board for my hood! I still had to pay the company that came out for their time! I contacted Zline again, they sent yet another replacement part, took me months to get the same tech back out. He installs it, now I have blinking lights. So my range hood lights are useless. I spent hundreds of dollars for techs to come out and I still have a hood that doesn't fully work. Zline's only response was that they would send out all new replacement parts again! At this point, it is cheaper for me to buy a new hood. My disappointment and frustration with this company has spurred me to submit this review so that future consumers can be aware. If you have a problem with your product, you will get a replacement part and installation video from Zline and no further help if the replacement parts don't fix the problem. If the replacement parts don't work, then Zline should stand behind their defective product and replace it, but they don't. So buyers beware.

We had this installed for about 2 months, it's beautiful, powerful, and super functional. It sits ~28 inches above our stovetop and at setting 3-4, it sucks out the air very effectively, especially when we cook italian and chinese dinners. The design is beautiful and streamlined, it fits perfectly in our moderate-sized kitchen with lower ceilings (8 foot). It makes the kitchen looks more updated, and because it's not very big like some other product, it doesn't take up alot of space and block the view to other part of the kitchen when cooking. It's a bit loud when on setting 3-4 though, the good thing is you don't need to keep it on high for too long before it vents the air out. Overall, love the product and will highly recommend to others.

While the product is okay for the price, the unit was so poorly packaged that many parts arrived damaged. The box it came in was fine, but every piece of metal for mounting the unit was bent and had to be straightened to use. The stainless chimney parts which come inserted one inside the other were hit at some point and bent so badly in one corner I had to pound them flat. Thus the finished product has visible damage that can't be repaired. We had to install due to time line constraints so no time to reorder or mess with the hassle of trying to get parts replaced. I will pursue that now,The packing inside the box consisted of a few pieces of styrofoam fitted to the fan unit and then a bunch of broken pieces haphazardly thrown in to fill the spaces.Needless to say the unit will have to be disassembled to install the new chimney parts if we're able to get them at all.Overall we are not pleased. We did take pictures of the damage. It is simply appalling to find a product shipped so carelessly.

Much heavier duty than it looks. The lights stopped working shortly after I bought it and the problem was an internal transformer, not easy to fix.
