Large Dog Aging 8+ Dry Dog Food, 30 lb Bag

We switched our 10-year-old Great Dane to Royal Canin Size Health Nutrition Large Aging 8+, and it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made for his health and comfort. This formula feels thoughtfully designed for a large senior dog: the kibble size is big enough to chew easily, but the nutrients are really powerful. What We Love: • Tailored for Aging: The food is enriched with EPA, DHA, and antioxidants, which are great for supporting cellular health as our dog gets older. • Bone & Joint Support: For a big dog, joint health is a big concern — this formula includes both glucosamine and chondroitin, which seem to help with stiffness. • Gentle on Digestion: The proteins are highly digestible, and there’s fiber to help with intestinal transit, which has helped keep his stools firm and regular. • Good Energy Level: The calorie content is balanced, and we’ve seen that he still has energy for daily walks without putting on extra weight. • High Quality Ingredients: According to the ingredients list, there’s a thoughtful blend — chicken by-product meal, fish oil, rice, and added nutrients. Things to Think About: • Price: It’s more expensive than “budget” large-breed foods, but for us it’s worth it given the health benefits and how well our dog is doing. • Bag Storage: As with most premium dry foods, once you open the bag, you need to store it well (airtight container helps) to keep freshness. • Transition Period: We switched gradually over 7 days (mixing with his previous food) to avoid upsetting his stomach. That’s actually recommended for this formula. Results in Our Dog: • His coat is shinier and softer than before. • He seems more comfortable when lying down, and we detect less joint stiffness in the morning. • Mealtimes are something he clearly enjoys — he eats consistently and seems to like the food. Overall: If you have a large-breed senior dog, Royal Canin Large Aging 8+ is a top-tier choice. It’s not just filler kibble — it’s formulated to help support an aging big dog’s body on multiple fronts, and in our experience, it delivers. Highly recommended!

Not sure how it tastes but my dog jumps up and down every time she sees me filling her bowl so I guess it must be good. She's a 10 year old lab and has been eating this for the last couple of years. No issues (allergies, upset tummy, etc). This will be the only food I will continue to buy for her. My vet always says this is what she feeds her dogs so that has to say something. I do wish it was cheaper though!

My dog that is 11 years old loves it, and been on it since he's been 8 years old. I have a subscription plan every month that gets delivered to my doorstep. I don't have to pick up at the pet store which is so nice and its a heavy bag.

Ordered this food after useing Royal Canine Shepard brand for a year now , my older Shiloh Shepard started to get fussy , so I researched this type and decide to give it a try , Pork Based , smaller pieces , I wet them with warm water with beef broth, I add wet food also a few Tablespoons , he liked it ate the first cup right away , second cup with a bit of coaxing but he's a clown , waltzes around , I wasn't concerned with gradual introducing because he was on Royal Canine for a year now for German Shepard , excellent food , My young Shiloh Shepard eats and thrives on it , healthy fur , put weight on , I like both types 8 plus for my older dog and regular they have special types for all breeds too.

Expensive but it doesn't smell bad like other food. Also dog doesn't have any runny or mushy poops when eating this food. He poops logs firm enough to pick up instantly.

We try to periodically change up dog foods because our dogs have always gotten tired of the same food. Our dog loves this dog food and even seems to prefer it over Badlands (which she loves to eat). We will keep buying this. I'm impressed.

my dog's fav

Best dry dog food brand out there.

Royal Canin is recommended by vets and breeders. Our Golden Retriever is happy to eat this food - RC Adult 8+. Our 2 Newfounland dogs were recently switched to RC Adult because of loose stools and VOLUME. This is a good food that seems to get processed better and results in less volume and solid regular poops. A huge plus when you have 3 huge dogs!😆 Super delivery service to your door at a competitive price.

Remarkable difference in how my 90lb senior dog moves around. He bounces like a puppy again!

Our dog is a senior and he seems to love this food….so far so good.

Merci

So far so good
