This is the one you need for your Ring.
I recently installed the Maxdot Doorbell Transformer 24V 40VA to power my Ring Wired Video Doorbell, and I couldnโt be more satisfied with my choice. This transformer is not only compatible but also provides a stable 24V output, ensuring that my doorbell functions flawlessly. The installation process was straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions included in the package. I appreciated that all the necessary components were provided, which made setup a breeze even for someone who isnโt particularly handy. Within minutes, I had it connected and ready to go. One of the standout features of this transformer is its UL certification, which gives me peace of mind knowing that it meets safety standards. It operates quietly and efficiently, with no overheating issues so far, which is a huge plus for a device like this. Additionally, the build quality feels robust, and the sleek design allows it to blend in seamlessly with my homeโs electrical setup. Itโs been working perfectly, providing a reliable power source for my doorbell without any interruptions. Overall, I highly recommend the Maxdot Doorbell Transformer for anyone looking for a dependable and easy-to-install solution for their wired doorbell. Itโs an excellent investment that delivers on performance and safety!

Much Needed Smart Device Upgrade
Previous transformer was a 16v 10 VAC unit that came with my new home build. I had a Google Nest doorbell cam installed from day one and from the onset, it never quite worked 100% (i.e. - doorbell button had to be pushed and held for a good second or two to ring). Fast forward several years the Nest died and I replaced it with another brand. Right off the bat the unit was having issues working and would freeze up. After diagnosing and trying to eliminate the issues, I came across that the original home transformer may not be up to the task. Giving this unit a try so far has been positive as the doorbell has no issues and appears to be keeping the supplementary battery up to charge (one of the issues before).

Powerful.
Works great. If you have anything working as a doorbell that has a camera or other modern power hungry features,, you'll want to upgrade to this in your house. The vast majority of homes have a far less powerful one that will not supply enough voltage for modern doorbell cameras, etc to work optimally. Standard transformers are around 10-14 volts or less for a basic old school doorbell. Modern camera doorbells need a minimum of 16V, and most manufacturers recommend 24V.

OK while it lasts
Bought this 11/2021 to power a single Nest Hello doorbell. It worked OK (I say OK because it always had a slight hum from day 1) until it finally crapped out 7/2022. I originally bought this specific brand and model because of the good reviews and because I was considering powering an additional Nest Hello doorbell at the back door, but it doesn't seem like this one has what it takes to handle even 1 for the long haul. Edit: I contacted the seller and inquired about warranty service due to having issues 7 months after purchase and they offered to send me a new one with no questions asked. Good customer service is worth a lot in my book because even the best products will fail from time to time, so I've upgraded my rating to 4 stars. I'll monitor the new one for a period of time and if it doesn't have a hum and continues putting out consistent VAC, I'll consider upgrading my rating to 5 stars because 1 faulty unit shouldn't represent the product as a whole when the seller jumps at the opportunity to make it right.

Screw terminal design defective. Donโt buy.
The screw/blade terminals on this unit are defective in design, not just manufacturing. Most of this you can see in the product photo itself: 1) Look at the product photo. Notice the screw heads on the terminals are too small to properly hold down even spade connectors that well, much less bare wire. What you canโt see is that the gauge of the screw shaft is also very thick so thereโs not much space under that screw head. 2) Notice the blade terminals are perfectly smooth. Theyโre not supposed to be super smooth, theyโre supposed to have some ridges or dimples to help them hold a blade connector. 3) you canโt tell from the photo, but the tolerances on the threaded screw terminal holes are very poor. The screws were already loose when I got the thing and then I found that one screw couldnโt be tightened at all, it would just turn and turn as though it were stripped. But I suspect the holes were just very poorly tapped because the item did not look used. This is just another one of these third-world products where a critical but cheapest and easiest to get right part is cheaped-out on in an effort to save 1ยข, ruining the whole thing. In this case, lots of expensive copper and manufacturing effort has gone to waste because someone couldnโt be bothered to do a proper job with the least expensive critical path component of the whole thing. This is a really stupid way to save money because you lose $10 trying to save 1ยข. The design and manufacturing decisions for this product are bad and the VAR did not properly evaluate the white label product they are branding before making a deal with the manufacturer.

Plenty Of Power With Headroom To Spare
I own a house that was built in 1950 and I do know that the doorbell that was originally on the house was installed after the house was built. I do not know why who originally installed the original transformer and doorbell system in my house the way they did but the power going from the transformer to the front doorbell switch has to have at least 75 to 90 ft of wire ran from it. I recently upgraded my doorbell system to the Nest Hello doorbell and I honestly thought there would be enough power from the original transformer. It turns out there was not enough power and I had to get something that had a bit stronger output. I searched the web for suggestions on what transformer would be good to work with my Nest Hello doorbell and a link with directed to Amazon for this transformer. Installation was very easily done where this transformer comes with typical wiring. A hot, a neutral, and a ground wire. Wired up the transformer to the AC power that was in place and then wired up the doorbell to this transformer. I put a voltmeter on the connections and I was getting anywhere between 28.3 to 28.7 volts output. I go over to where my doorbell switch is located and I was getting about 25.5 volts. When all said and done this transformer absolutely met my needs to set up a modernized doorbell system in my house. The construction of this transformer is very sturdy and it looks like it's well built. I also like that it is UL listed and it gives me peace of mind that something like this is not going to go on fire and cause damage to my house. Overall I think this was a solid purchase and I would highly recommend.

Well Made
Works really well with a eufy doorbell. Very heavy. Use with a metal plate or box. Being UL listed sold me on it versus a lot of cheaper options.

Prefect fit for Google Nest Gen 2 Wired Doorbell but needed 24V Newhouse Hardware CHM24V Chime
I originally had the Nutone C905 Transformer paired with the BK125LWH-1 16VAC Chime. When I upgraded my standard doorbell to the Google Nest Doorbell (Wired, 2nd Gen), the existing chime stopped working correctlyโit just made a humming noise. I discovered that the Nutone transformer only supplied 16V, while the Nest doorbell requires a transformer with a voltage between 16V and 24V. To resolve this issue, I replaced the old transformer with a new one. However, I also learned that the chime must be compatible. So, I purchased the Newhouse Hardware CHM24V 24-Volt Wired Doorbell Chime. Now, everything works perfectlyโthe doorbell rings clearly with both front and rear tones, and there are no issues at all. Helpful Tip: Before replacing the transformer, take a picture of the existing setup, especially the wiring. It makes the installation much easier. And always remember to turn off the power to the transformer, chime, and doorbell before starting any work.

Works perfectly powering 2 Nest Hello doorbells!
I have 2 Nest Hello doorbells on the same transformer. The original transformer was was only putting out 19.1 volts. I was having a problem with my Nest Hello doorbells where one or the other would cut out intermittently. I purchased this transformer, which is a 24 V output hoping that it would solve the problem. And sure enough it did. With both doorbells hooked up, the output voltage of this transformer is 28.4 volts. It was easy to install as well. The top transformer in the photo is the new one compared to the cheap, smaller original one. Obviously, make sure you cut the power to your house before you install this.

Easy installation, works well with Ring Pro
Got this to replace a 10V transformer so that a Ring Pro Video Doorbell could be installed. If you are comfortable doing basic electrical work, it is fairly easy to install. Just make sure to turn the power off to the doorbell circuit beforehand. The unit was heavier than expected so need to make sure it is supported well. The doorbell has been working great so far with no issues.

Works as it should!
This transformer works fantastic, I didn't know my doorbell could make sounds I could actually hear!! For years I struggled with missing deliveries and such because my doorbell sound was so weak. I decided to look into getting a video doorbell so I could get notified on my phone, and I learned I needed to upgrade the transformer, which is why I ended up buying this little guy. Now my doorbell actually rings as it should, I don't even need the video doorbell, but I like the added security so I ended up keeping it too. For video doorbells, if anyone is curious, I purchased both the Arlo Video Doorbell and the Eufy Video Doorbell, and it worked fantastic with both! I ended up keeping the Arlo over the Eufy, it works great.
