Like this more than my new Shark
I bought this to replace a similar model made by Bissell that I'd purchased in 2012 or 2013. That model is no longer made or I would have repurchased it immediately. It served me well and kept every home I've lived in clean. Since I got a very large and unexpected Christmas bonus, I purchased this model PLUS a Shark vacuum. You know what? I think I like this a lot better than that over priced Shark. While this feels like a very flimsy, cheap vacuum cleaner (and it IS), it was a breeze to assemble, it has the same tools as my old Bissell and the suction is just as good and powerful as my old, now deceased model. I have 3 short haired cats, my own long hair that is always shedding and I live in a very old, 3 story house in a big city on a main throughway, so I get outside dirt as well as the day to day dander, litter crumbs, dead skin cells and other normal human/animal and household detritus. My house has ancient hardwood floors, uncarpeted stairs and antique Oriental area rugs in every room. My Shark arrived this past Wednesday, I assembled it and vacuumed thoroughly on Thursday evening. Unless it's mid spring (cat shedding season), when I have no choice but to vacuum at least once a day, normally I vacuum the house once or twice a week and that is sufficient to keep things tidy and hair free. The Shark seemed to perform just fine on the wooden floors and the rugs but I was not wowed by the suction, even though, like the Bissell, one can adjust the device depending on the surface being cleaned. I got a full cannister with the Shark after my Thursday evening vacuuming session. That seemed about right. BUT- Today is Saturday. I just assembled the Bissell and vacuumed the entire first floor. I had to empty the cannister 3 times. Both the Shark and this Bissell have cannisters that hold about the same amount of stuff. Let me add that I live alone, I work from home at a sedentary job and am barefoot or in stockinged feet the majority of my waking hours. As I type, I am sitting here and wondering just what good the Shark is for nearly $400... This may not be your Be All, End All cleaning machine if you live in a 4,500 sq. ft. house with several humans, a few 4 legged mammals with fur coats, wall to wall carpet through out and close access to a sandy beach or a forest floor, but I believe that this inexpensive plastic carpet sucker can and will fully and faithfully serve the needs of a normal household just fine for at least a decade.

Love this little vacuum
I 100% recommend this little vacuum. The price is definitely worth it. It sucks up stuff you didn't even know was there. It cleans up dog hair like nobody's business. The attachments work great. It is very lightweight. I can't say enough good about this thing. I used one attachment for cleaning a BLACK couch. I currently have 4 dogs in my house. I have a 120 pound anatolian shepherd/great pyrenees mix (long, white hair), a (long haired) black lab mix, and (short haired) pit/rhodesian ridgeback mix, and am fostering a mixed (mutt) breed puppy. Needless to say, my black couch has not been hair free for a LONG time. This vacuum (with the attachment) had it 100% hair free in under 20 minutes! I can also clean my ceiling fans with this attachment AND the hose is long enough to do so because it comes with a hose extender! I used another attachment for my bed. I also have four kids. Two are toddlers. They are CONSTANTLY getting stuff all over the bed. The attachment makes it to where we can clean our queen sized bed off in under 10 minutes. Not to mention all of their beds. We also use that attachment to clean the (dry) food they spill all over the table. The vacuum itself is so small and lightweight that my two older ones can vacuum properly. Our last vacuum was an old school Bissell. It was around 10 years old. It was HEAVY. Every time they tried to vacuum the front end was always partly in the air. Not a problem with this vacuum. It stays flat on the floor for both of them. Also, I have this super fun condition where my joints dislocate super easily. Every time I would vacuum with our previous vacuum my shoulders and hips would dislocate and vacuuming was beyond painful. With this little vacuum that doesn't happen AND it picks up even more than our old one did. So, not only am I not in excruciating pain after vacuuming, but it picks up even more than the one before did. I plan on using it to vacuum out the car (the one that transports the 4 dogs and the 4 kids so imagine the mess) and I feel confident it will look even better than the car wash vacuums. I love this little vacuum and it is worth more than they are charging. The ONLY downside is our old Bissell you could open the canister on the top and the bottom for a better clean. This one you can only open the bottom so I have a big peach seed stuck at the top and can't figure out how to get it out. Thankfully, it is a dried one that was meant for planting so it won't get the vacuum gross.

Great vacuum for the price!!
For the price this is a great vacuum. I read the other reviews before purchasing. First off the cons of this cleaner: 1. You need some strength but not too much. Attaching the hose to the bottom of the vacuum is a VERY tight fit. And adding the attachments are a very tight fit as well. You need to put muscle into it. But not too cause one could easly break one of the attachments. Be careful. 2. The electrical cord hits the vacuum hose on the left side. Kinda annoying. But no big deal breaker. Pros: 1. You need a Phillips screwdriver to attach the handle. And your ready to clean. 2. Cleaned my rug very well. And very pleased. 3. I have no carpet in my home. This vacuum cleaned my tiled floors extremely well. Very satisfied. 4. It's not too heavy and easy to maneuver because of the setting.. 5. People who bought this vacuum complained it was to loud. It is not. And those are the same people that probably complain about the power cord because it's not a retractable cord. If you can't manually put up the cord yourself then you're probably the lazy one. But we really like this vacuum. .

OMG!
Ok. If ever someone can be IN LOVE with a vaccuum...its me and it's this one! I've always been a Bissell fan, BUT this model out shines any other, hands down! The suction power is out of this world crazy! I literally can not believe what this thing pulled up from the moment I put it together and plugged it in. For what I thought was a clean carpet, this proved me SO wrong!. I love how easy it is to maneuver. And the cyclone type effect it has pulling up all of the dirt is on spot. One click and you empty the canister right over the top of your garbage can. No fuss. Another click, and it's back in place. It offers several level settings which is a plus and they actually work accordingly! All in about 20 minutes, I went from the carpeted areas of my house (thick Berber carpet), to the tile floors, to even using the turbo brush on the couches. Amazing. And let me tell you about this turbo brush...if you have animals (We have 3) you MUST have this machine. I have spent hours in the past lint rolling and using shop vac on my furniture. This turbo brush had me done in 5 minutes flat and I could not believe what it picked up from my couches and recliner. All of the super fine dog hat was GONE! If you haven't guessed by reading all of this so far, this was the BEST $70 I have spent in a long time! No other fancier, more expensive name brand vac can compare to the suction and versatility of this machine. You will NOT be dissapointed!!!

Works Great So Far!
Assembly was quick and easy, I vacuumed for 5 minutes and it looked like I had a new dog in the bin! We also have a Dyson in our other house and while it is a superior vacuum for suction it is also 5x more expensive and 3x heavier and I think this Bissell is just as effective as the Dyson at picking up loose debris on hard surfaces and the brushing action is better than the Dyson. We have sand and clay here in our lake house and it gets blown and tracked in constantly and this baby sucked it right up on the first pass and the "edge to edge" vacuum works as advertised, you can see the vacuum pulling dirt from around the periphery towards the aperture, it has great suction. I also appreciated the lightweight and ease of moving the vacuum around obstacles, steers easy. If it holds up over time it will be a great vacuum and a real bargain compared to the others in it's class.

Wonderful--vacs A+, easy assembly, great price
Got the vacuum this morning, unboxed it, which was easy, put the handle on, screwed in the two screws necessary to hold the handle on, attached the accordion hose and bottom of the cord wrap knob (all very easy), plugged it in and vacuumed. It is MUCH quieter than the vacuum we had that just died. My dogs weren't afraid of it. It is about as easy/hard to push around as any other vac I have used. The amount of people hair, dust, trash and dog hair it picked up was scary....soooo much. I had to empty the bin three times. Shows how much our old vacuum wasn't picking up :(. Used it on the stairs. The cord reached all the way to the top! My old vacuum had to be unplugged when I got to the stair landing and replugged upstairs. This was a pain. The tool for stairs worked well. One of the most wonderful things about this vac is that it doesn't shoot the dirt back behind it on an uncarpetted floor -- it sucks it up -- and it doesn't push dog hair forward with the air from the vac on an uncarpetted -- it sucks dog hair up as well. All this good stuff PLUS it was not as expensive as many other vacuums. $85 with tax. The only thing that could have made it better was a retractable cord, but I would rather pay less and wrap myself. I will use it for a few months and see if I still like it and add to this review, but if it continues to be this good, I will buy another one when we need a new one! 8/16/21 -- I have now used this vacuum for almost a year and a half and still love it. It works as well now as it did the first time I used it. My review above still stands!

Better than my Dyson
I love this vacuum. Quick and easy to plug and go. This machine makes vacuuming so much easier than my $700 Dyson and I think it does a better job. All the tools have a place to hang on the vacuum so it's easy to unplug the hose, pop on another attachment and get edges, corners and tight spots or vacuum the sofa backs and other upholstery. My husband says he can breath better every time I use this vacuum and I think he's probably right! The beater bar works well - I've never seen it scatter debris - the suction is great. The bar doesn't seem to have a release for cleaning but access to untangle it is pretty good. Most vacuums come with a shorter power cord so I'm constantly unplugging and replugging in as I move from room to room, this 25 ft cord is great - I can do the entire staircase without running up and down to replug. There are 2 filters in this vacuum. One is on top of the canister (see my first photo - the dark disc like sponge is the filter) and the other, the HEPA filter, is under the canister (see my next three photos). The red tab over the "filter" sign presses down and then pulls out. The filter is hiding in there. You can buy replacements here on Amazon but both can be washed and left out to dry thoroughly before reinstalling. Two links here. There are others with Fabreez scented too that work just fine. The replacement for the top filter is here: https://www.amazon.com/Bissell-Powerforce-Bagless-Washable-Premotor/dp/B07J1WWBHN/ref=pd_bxgy_1/146-2841301-6127064?pd_rd_w=JBok2&pf_rd_p=c64372fa-c41c-422e-990d-9e034f73989b&pf_rd_r=5P3R38HHGPC5J9VAB5J7&pd_rd_r=fddc7f03-0d44-41e0-a401-6bf5edcb088e&pd_rd_wg=3Ysny&pd_rd_i=B07J1WWBHN&psc=1 The replacement for the HEPA filter is here: https://www.amazon.com/Bissell-Powerlifter-Washable-160-4130-1604130/dp/B01IRPMVLA/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=BISSELL+Cleanview+Bagless+Vacuum+Cleaner%2C+2486+filters&qid=1633567691&sr=8-9 I received a Bissel hand vac along with this machine and Iโm surprised by how often we grab that for little spills but its also been great for sofa crumbs, cleaning the car or boat and the kids strollers and car seats. A great vacuum from a good company. Bissel gives back and supports United Way, Junior Achievement, and Ronald McDonald House, so you can feel good about this purchase!

treasure truck find ended my search
I'd been looking for a stronger vacuum than my stick when the bissell clean view popped up on treasure truck, so I bought it. it's very easy to put together with two screws requiring a Philips head screwdriver, and all accessories are on the vacuum. I immediately used it on my upstairs hallway, and the seven year old carpet I was about to rip out looks brand new. as an aside, some of the attachments looked mildly scuffed, but the tank was clean so I didn't exchange it. the tank went from empty to full with just the hallway! it's not as hyped or flashy as the "outsize" vacuum I was drawn by, but at less than 1/12th of the price, this thing performs! overall I think a lot of us do this dance between a stick and an upright, but a stick never feels sufficient on carpeted floors. this is a good, sturdy, light, powerful, dirt cheap option. assembly gets you pretty acquainted with the workings of it, and the ease of tank emptying is great since it will pull dirt from next month out of your carpets. hopefully it will last a while, but first impressions are great.
