Oil changed my mini cooper hatchback. Also had to buy a 36mm special flat socket to fit the oil filter housing so bate this in mind if you are going to change yours. You can get them from amazon

Perfect fit for an R50
OEM oil filter for Mini Cooper, 1.6L base (non-S model). This is the OEM filter just without the Mini stamp. This fits my R50 and works great. Seller had super fast shipping and could not be any happier. My R50 is pre 07/2004 production model and it has an oil filter with a plastic cage in it, and is supposed to take the cageless oil filters...well they do not make them anymore and if they do I cannot find them. This still works, it is a snug fit but you can push the cage through it. After reading the reviews I was a little concerned it wouldn't fit but after looking receiving it I confirmed that it does work, it is just a snug fit and you have to work the cage back and forth a bit to open up the hole.
