This little item has SOLVED our dog’s barking problem!!!👍🏼😁YAY!!!🥳Our breed (Corgi) is known for barking and we’ve tried various methods. We decided to try this because our previous device—a collar with sound—did work, but was a hassle (i.e. we had to put it on her and she hated it, and we hated having to make her wear it...seemed like a punishment rather than training).But THIS item—Wow. We only had to use it TWICE and she understood! Barking problem solved!⚠️ But—and this is important—please for the sake of your dog, use this responsibly:1) DO NOT overuse this device because clearly they hate the sound; and2) Only use in conjunction with verbal command training—never as a punishment. First, use a simple command (we say “Quiet” but whatever applies for your situation) and if your pup doesn’t respond accordingly, ONLY THEN use this device. It’s critical that your dog associates your verbal command with the consequence of the annoying sound, so they make the connection and learn to obey your command; otherwise it will just cause them anxiety, confusion and fear.All we had to do was tap the button—not hold it down in the “on” position, but merely TAP it—and it caused her immediately to stop and look around for the sound source. Clearly this sound is quite jarring to dogs yet barely audible to humans (and there’s a red light to show you when the sound is activated). As I said, our dog learned in just 2 uses. Granted, Corgis are very smart and have great hearing—those ears are like satellite dishes!—but still, that’s some pretty quick learning. Now 95% of the time, she stops barking on command, thanks to training her with this. And here’s the kicker: If she doesn’t stop on command, all I have to do is just SHOW this to her. 👀 Seriously! She sees this thing, knows what’s next and STOPS barking. This is the first successful attention getting device I have used in training my Pit/Golden and after using this consistently when he barks at other dogs approaching on leash, he now immediately looks at me when he hears the sound. Sometimes he will bark again, sometimes not. My challenges are to immediately reward him for not barking, AND control his lunging after starting and stopping the sound. I need two hands to manage him on the leash and this product would be greatly enhanced if it was on a lanyard. That way I could likely just slap the device hanging around my neck at chest level. There is no way to attach anything other than the included wrist strap. The button is too sensitive to keep in a pocket without accidentally bumping it and causing the sound, and hanging from the wrist or belt loop isn’t very efficient.I found the directions for use to be a bit confusing but now understand that the sound will last a maximum 10 seconds. Test it away from your dog and you will see that a green light is on when it is working and you will hear a beep when the button is pressed. It takes very little to push the button so handle it with care. With a reactive dog, I strongly suggest using two people during training so your hands are available for giving the rewards when your dog is quiet. A second person can use the device to create the immediate sound without delay. All in all I am pleased thus far and feel like we are progressing in reducing barking and lunging since the sound creates a quick distraction every time. No device will train a dog unless paired with consistent rewards for alternative behaviors and I am pleased with this one and it’s ability to cause my dog to look at me every time he hears it. It is the first sound that has been successful in this regard.

I have a maltipoo and this thing is pure magic! One little beep and the barking stops and she looks at me like "uh, oh, Mama is mad!" and she comes right to my side. My neighbor has a little poodle and he couldn't care less about the sound, so I do feel that it is luck of the draw whether this works for your pup or not. But in our case, it is worth every cent. And I have had it for over two years. I use it infrequently so as not to get her so used to it that it doesn't have an effect any more. So far, so good!

Update#2: It's been about a week and I have not had to use this device again. Following the second use my dog now barks once and self-corrects (99% of the time). She barks, she self-corrects, she looks to me for approval - AND MAN DOES SHE GET APPROVAL. And so do the makers of this Modus Anti Barking Device, Ultrasonic Dog Bark Deterrent. They know what they're doing.UPDATE #1: I have upped my rating to 5 stars - this device simply works. I, as the operator of the device and the one with the agenda for using the device, need to know how/when/why to use it. The second time I used it with my dog, who was dealing with the UPS delivery person delivering a package to me (stuff for her, by the by) in the only way she really has available to her (barking), I made myself clear with the hush word ('hush', very clever of me, eh?), aimed the device at her (not necessary since she can hear it from anywhere but I needed her to know it was coming from me for a reason), said 'hush', pressed the button, she INSTANTLY silenced, came out of the window seat, looked at me without distress of any kind, went to the door to let me know there was something out there (yep, I got it buddy, I've got it), came to me for approval, laid down beside me for a little while and then went back to her window seat.Yep, this device works...and, I doubt I'll have to use it ever again to get her to hush, except possibly in extreme circumstances. I don't want her to stop barking, I rely on her watchfulness. I just needed her to stop barking on command under a specific circumstance (the big brown van) and this device helped me accomplish that after just 2 applications.INITIAL REVIEW: I don't know how I feel about this Modus Anti Barking Device, Ultrasonic Dog Bark Deterrent yet. It most definitely does what it says; it silenced my dog's barking mid bark. She's not a nuisance barker or an aggressive dog, she's simply indignant that the UPS delivery person or FedEx person or USPS or anyone carrying packages would have the audacity to come up her steps, or even in her condo complex parking lot. She is a good watch dog (a terrible guard dog though because the tail, it wags). She takes her job seriously. She barks for a reason and when I can get her attention she'll stop. If it's a neighbor, it's easier to get her attention. When it's a delivery person, I don't exist and she won't stop until the van is out of sight. Then, peace reigns again. So, stopping her expressing her indignation with the Big Brown Van usually means I have to walk over to the bay window, acknowledge what she's seen, confirm that it's okay for whoever to be there. I don't mind really but I work remotely and that's not something I can do during conference calls, especially since she's already been heard on the conference call and the damage is done.I used the Modus Anti Barking Device, Ultrasonic Dog Bark Deterrent and 2 in 1 Dog Training Aid for the first time today and one second press on the button and she instantly silenced. She came out of her window seat in the bay window, she looked around in CLEAR DISTRESS (tail tucked, ears back) trying to identify the source of the sound. She is still in distress 20 minutes later and she is clearly fearful of going back into her window seat. Not the result I was hoping for. She's not barking, it's true, but she's not in the window seat anymore or caring one bit about who's out there. Again, not the result I was aiming for. She LOVES her window seat and saying hello to the neighbors who love her. Instead, she's tucked tail, ears back, fearful of going into her window seat, and still trying to understand where the sound came from. I will try it a couple more times and try to make it clear the sound came from me and that it means I want her to stop barking.She's a rescue who has had more abuse than any living being deserves. She has known nothing but safety and love and happiness with me (she's my nutty companion) and I am disinclined to do anything that causes her any amount of distress. She's not barking but she's not happy. I'll post an update after maybe two more tries.

I never knew peace until I received my Modus bark controller.I have three yapping dogs who barked from chirping birds to a car backfiring. Anything and everything set them off. I tried everything from shock collars (the humane kind) to whistles nothing worked. When I saw this bark controller I figured the results would be the same especially since the price was so reasonable,plus I only had to buy one instead of three and it was cheaper than one collar.When I received the controller all I had to do was remove the battery saver tape (batteries included and installed). There is a wrist strap included which has nothing to do with the function but is very handy to have. Installation is very simple no tools required.As I said my dogs bark at everything so my wait to use it was only minutes away. It took one click to send two of my dogs running to the bedroom and the other who moves only for food stopped barking and forgot what he was barking at in the first place. There was no indication of discomfort by my dogs but the sound which I can't hear distracted them enough to shut them up! Like I said AMAZING!!!I can now go for walks without worrying about strange animals lurking about one or two beeps and they are gone. I would never use this or anything if I thought it would hurt or harm an animal. I can't help but think this would be a useful tool for a runner and if you are one of the lucky neighbors who has a yapper living next door, how great would it be to shut them up without harming them or your neighbors feelings!Last but not least, never let children big or small use this as a plaything! The bark controller/trainer has a purpose and it's not for teasing pets!I love mine and it has certainly made life a bit more peaceful for me.

My pound Walker coon hound mix came with zero training and as some barking problems. I thought something like this would be a good way to help with these problems. The first time I used it the dog reacted and stopped barking. The second time he came over to check it out. After that, activated or not he thought it was a treat and if he noticed it he would come over to eat it.One of my artillery ears is good enough to hear the sound and it didn't sound very loud. I called Modus and their CS was very helpful and immediately sent a replacement. Which was louder.The dog hears the new one and I think he ears the original. The sound does not seem to distract him enough to be a training tool or bark stopper. I'll keep trying but I think this hound is too much for the Modus. It's one of those "your results may vary" devices. Maybe it should come with a hard headed hound dog warning and disclaimer.

Ive purchased this item 2 times. Originally my first purchase I had great experience and success with the item. The second time I purchased the item changed and I had zero success. The 1st I didn't have to plug in to charge, my dog was easily trainable with the 1st one. The second one I had to plug in and charge and the light would be green when fully charged but the second you unplugged it wouldn't operate or display any light and my dog had zero response to it. My mistake was lending the original to my boss and not able to get it back so I was forced to buy again. The original worked great but when manufacturers update things or upgrade you never receive the same as the 1st product. The only reason I bought again was because it was wonderful. Unfortunately not the newest version 😕

I wasn’t sure what to expect with an ultrasonic bark deterrent, but this little device actually works better than I thought. I’ve been using it both indoors and outside when my dog gets into those nonstop barking moods, and it definitely helps calm things down quickly.What I like most is that it feels humane. There’s no shock or anything harsh, just a sound that grabs their attention. The different training modes are nice too because you can adjust depending on the situation. I usually stick with one of the middle settings and it has been enough.The range seems solid. I have used it across my yard without issues, and the rechargeable battery is a big plus so I am not constantly buying replacements. It is also compact and easy to carry around, which makes it convenient during walks or when visiting friends.Overall, if you are dealing with excessive barking and want a safe and simple solution, this is definitely worth trying. It is not magic overnight, but with consistency it really helps improve behavior.

Don’t buy it. It is only a battery powered dog whistle and my dogs ignored it completely. I have passed it to a charity

Brilliant ! I was sceptical .. but I really can recommend ... I have a mini schnauzer who is so excited to see other dogs she launches herself at them barking and they and their owners run away .. now I beep her .. she calms down and greets them with just a few mutterings .. it’s great as I can have in my handbag and do it without anyone seeing ..Or I just show it to her and she stops .. it doesn’t seem to hurt her just gives her a surprise and stops her from barking .. I really would recommend as it works well for her ...

It works. As simple as that. At first she’d need me to beep it a few times before she stopped. But after a few days, just her seeing me reach out for it was enough to stop her from barking.A little tip: Don’t try it once and decide it doesn’t work. Stick with it. Within a few days of using it, the barking diminishes. Eventually, she ended up looking at people walk past the house with their dogs and would remain calm. At the very worst, she sometimes does a really soft, barely audible growl and all I need to do is say “shhhh..” and I talk to her calmly and she stops. It’s been hiding in a drawer for a very long time now, because she’s trained and no longer needs it. 😊
