Yup, this thing is a BEAST. Heavy & solid, it’s the stick to end all sticks.

What size is right for me? I am 6ft tall.

I am 5ft 11in . They say your lower arm (bent 90 degree at elbow ) should be parallel to the ground when you grip the walking stick. The 55 in stick is good for me. Have also read where the 55 in stick is good up to 6 foot tall person. (better too long---you can always shorten the stick but you cannot lengthen it!)

Is it carved from one solid piece of wood?

Yes it is. We recently used ours on several backcountry hikes and it was very useful when crossing streams and traversing mucky boggy trails. It is made of a solid piece of wood and is very sturdy. It is comfortable and not too heavy but is not as light as some of the collapsible titanium/aluminum models

What kind of wood are they made of?

I don't know the type of wood, except that it's light, strong and comfortable to use up and down hill. Perfect for the casual hiker.
