Deer gut knife
The Gerber I like the best from other saws I've used. They bright orange trim and handle is a big bonus a lot of time we are gutting at night. I don't pay attention as good as I should were I sit it down the orange makes it much easier to find. It works great on the pelvic and the brisket. Safer and easier than trying to get through those areas with your knife and also save on the blade of your knife. The pouch is easy to clean after use in the sink or a lot of times I just through it in the washer with my cloths I gutted with. Saw stays sharp for several seasons and are cheap enough when they finally do get dull I just buy a new one. Typically though I accidentally loose them before they go dull but that's on me.

Lightweight, sharp and small...maybe too small?
I bought this saw a few weeks ago because I needed something lightweight, relatively inexpensive and small to carry in my pack for a swamp hunt on a refuge. I knew I would need to gut and break down my kills in the middle of the swamp and I figured this saw would fit the bill to go along with my OE razor-lite knife. It ended up working out as a near perfect combo. Relatively easy to saw through the bones on multiple hogs and deer. The hooked blunt end definitely helped when messing with the pelvic bone prior to finishing the gut job. I do wish it was about an inch longer, but I guess that takes something away with the portability of it. Gerber needs to make a saw like this with a slightly larger handle to where the saw length can be adjusted by allowing part of the saw blade to slide up into the hilt/handle for packing and then lengthening it when the work begins.

Perfect For Big Game
Ordered this for the elk and deer hunt. This saw was perfect. Why? - It's compact, fits well into a daypack or even a coat pocket. - It's ergonomicaly perfect. The shape of the handle fit well into my right hand. - It's strong and cuts through animal bones very good. I used it mostly on the chest cavities, and I cannot imagine something more suited. - It has a "catch" built into it, so when you are sawing up the breastbone of an animal the saw will not come off the animal. - It's orange, so easy to find when you go to pick up all the knives. All in all, I really like this. It was used on two deer, four elk, and an antelope and never dulled. Tough to clean out the teeth, but an old toothbrush works well.

Must have for the field dressing of game.
Use this primarily to cut thigh bone on whitetails during field dressing. I broke a multi function knife, the kind with 3 blade (blade, gut hook, saw) on a deer last season. I was lucky to not suffer injury. My buddy had one of these in his deer gutting kit and I used it to finish the job. Immediately ordered my own on Amazon. For me cutting the thigh bone to get all the guts and anus out has always been the more difficult part of gutting a deer. This saw changed that, right tool for the job. The grip remains tacky even when bloody, and the blaze orange makes it easy to find when you set it down near your work area. I've lost other knives that where black or camo when gutting in low light, or snow. All tools that go into the field with me now are hi vis! I cannot speak to durability, as mine has never been used. My buddy has used his for several seasons. In my case, I usually shoot 1 or 2 deer a season, so it probably will get lost before worn out. I'll update my review in 10 years after I have gutted 20 deer.

Great for field dressing game
I bought this saw to replace an older model I had. The primary use for me is to cut the pelvic bone on game I'm dressing. Works great for that. Very sharp. Not that easy to clean, but it IS a saw. Take the time and clean the teeth after use. It's stainless, but stainless will still rust if you leave blood on it. Keep it cleaned and oiled. I had to replace my last one because I loaned it and it was returned rusty.

Works well.
Works great.

Too coarse
Very difficult to use because it is too coarse and tends to bite into the pelvic bone and is difficult to saw with. More work to separate the bone than it should be.

Consigliatissimo e personalmente indispensabile.
