Has anyone actually tried this to make sure it tastes like filet mignon?

yes. but since the only beef in this is the fat (tallow) and filet is a very lean cut, there is no comparison. however, my cats love the taste and SugarPop prefers it as a treat over the rotisserie chicken that Andrew wants (our real treat).
