Works great on my mercruiser 350 mag mpi. A couple thoughts: 1) Make sure the pump is fully tightened down to the container, and the suction tube also completely screwed down on the container. Also at the top where the pump handle goes down, there's another fitting to screw down tightly 2) Your oil will come out faster if you pump until it's pretty hard to pump more. Don't be afraid to come back and pump more during the time when the oil is coming out. It will make your oil change faster. I found that I had to come back numerous times to pump again. The more I pumped the faster the oil came out. You can see the oil coming out based on the bubbles in the oil and how fast they move inside the clear suction tube. 3) At the end of the process, the clear suction tube will begin to be empty as the suction pulls all the oil out from your motor. I had the end of the suction tube maybe a half inch up from the bottom of the oil pan during most of the pumping. At the end I pushed it down to a quarter inch. At the very end I pushed it to the end and kept pumping and allowing all of the oil to come out even as the clear suction tube was mostly empty. I don't know how much extra oil I got but maybe a cup or so. But I bet you that's the dirtiest oil. 4) This takes a while but I found it to be a pretty clean process. I added just about the same amount of oil that I took out. In my case it was about 4 quarts plus a cup or so. My oil had been low, probably more than a quart low, before I began this this oil change. I ran the motor afterwards and checked the oil again, it was still right in the range where it should be according to the dipstick. So I'm not entirely sure if there was oil left in the pan or what. But I'm going to assume that I got most of it out. But the oil looked pretty clean when I checked it again after running the motor. Now that the oil change is done, I'm going to check the oil level again tonight or tomorrow and add more oil if needed. 5) Overall, this seems like a great unit. It seems pretty durable and easy to use. I'm not very mechanical so this was a pleasant surprise. Picture is at the very end - you can see the suction tube is largely empty. I removed it from the dipstick tube and held it up high over the container to allow gravity to help remove the rest of the oil from the suction tube.

this tool has been fantastic. I have owned it for several years. I use it on the jetskiis and the boat. It holds vacuum pressure and allows me to do other tasks. the plastic doesn’t seem discolor much and the oil drains out and I clean it up. Simple but very effective.

Very well, made easy to use with great suction. It holds enough for an oil change on my car and the spout is great for dumping out the waste oil.

I like to change my own oil and I can not lie Purchased this for several potential reasons and one pressing reason, I recently put a built engine in my forester and had to use a non-standard oil pan to make it work, which changed the oil capacity and thusly also affected how the dipstick reads The combo reduced oil capacity a little, so based on prior habit I over filled it ..... twice ;( So after acquiring a corrected dipstick ... The EWK 6L Oil Extractor made correcting the over fill exceedingly easy, the first time I drained and refilled, the second time I just walked out in my garage early in the morning, yawning with a cup of coffee in hand, opened the box and had the extractor correcting the over fill in about a minute, I didn't even warm the car up. You can tell by how much pressure you apply to the vacuum pump whether or not the viscosity is too much or not, it told me about it but didn't complain at all, a minute later we were good to go The next day I pulled the Tacoma in the garage and drained the oil while standing, it was worth the cost of admission right there. I still crawled under it afterwards, pulled the plug and changed the filter, but having it drained first removed enough drama that I'm a fan of extracting after only 2 dates Going forward I have an extractor for whenever it's needed, a good add to the tool box, works well, recommended

I used mine for the first time today. It worked wonderfully well on my 2020 Mazda CX-5, extracting the full volume of oil. The detachable spout worked well when emptying the reservoir and the unit seems plenty robust for home use. It will also be handy with my generators, mowers, pressure washers, etc. Things didn’t go as well on my 2025 Subaru Forester. It wasn’t the extractor’s fault. The pickup tube, despite being plenty thin and semi-rigid due to its coil spring liner, hit some sort of obstruction partway down and could only reach and extract about half the oil. This was a Subaru design issue and not the fault of the extractor. Others report the same problem online with this and other extractors. Do a Google search for your application.

We used this pump to get the oil in our car out. It was super easy to use and we had no trouble quickly pumping the old oil out. We have no complaints and think it was a good value for the money. This thing is almost perfect. I fired up the car and let it idle until the oil filter was warm, then went about the deed. The dip tube is much longer than needed for my Subaru, but has a hand "stop" on it that can be adjusted to be dipstick length. Pumping is easy and the old oil flowed out pretty quickly. When it was done I gently pushed the tube in a bit further and retrieved more oil. Note to self: do this on every use. Added new oil. Once the oil was in the device I put on the pour spout, got a funnel, and started pouring into the now-empty oil container. Taking off the pump helped the pour to proceed more quickly. I got out more than the 5 quarts I put in, so added a bit more to the car using a single quart of oil (per the manufacturer's instructions. New filter and we are done. I saved the cost of the pump by doing this one time. When I do the wife's care we will already be ahead. I'd like to have a spare rubber cap for the spout, but otherwise this was simple to use and did the job. No mess to clean up either.

This pump is 100% worth it. Made changing the oil in a 2019 Volkswagen Beetle a breeze. The car holds 6 quarts and it pulled out at least 5.9 quarts (5.6 liters). As long as you have a good seal on everything, it pulls it out pretty quickly. I thought it was going sort of slow until I realized the rubber washer on the hose didn’t have an air tight seal to the reservoir and was leaking a little air. After fixing that, it worked like a charm. You likely will have to pump it a few times throughout to keep the pressure up but it maybe took 10-15 minutes. After that I moved the hose around a bit and pumped out maybe another 0.1 liter or so. I only have one minor complaint, which is that I wish the reservoir had a cap too instead of just a spout, but that’s it. This thing is great, worth every penny.

Used to extract oil from PWC. Works well with minimal effort. Highly recommend.

This device worked well to suck out the extra oil put in the car's engine through the dipstick tube.

This is a great product. It makes changing oil very easy and easy to send off used oil for recycling. First time I must have pushed the drain suction hose too far in and inside the tank it curled up a bit so I only got 2 liters out. I pulled the hose further back and it was able to pull all 4+ liters out. A first time error. Now I know where to slide the tube ball marker so as to not do this again. Better to DIY your own Oil Changes. There is no reason to pay someone to do a simple oil change ever again.
