A lot of men take saw palmetto for prostate health. What most of them don’t know, however, is that Beta sitosterol is the active component in sawn palmetto. And the plant only contains a very small amount. This is a much more effective way to provide prostate support. And this brand scores well for purity in lab tests.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I like this brand. Seems to help me after consistently taking it every day. The capsules are not a huge dose so you can gradually increase the number you take over time to reach the results you're looking for. Of course nothing works 100% for everyone but it does help me.

Expect urine flow to be quicker on the third day. It MOST definitely started working by day #2 for me. I take on empty stomach twice a day.

Reliable sources online -- ConsumerLab and others -- have pointed out that Beta-sitosterol supplementation has two uses and with very different recommendations as to the issue of whether to take the capsules with or without food. Here is the answer: for cholesterol reduction, take with meals; for reduction of symptoms of enlarged prostate, take on an empty stomach - meaning about 2 hours before or after eating. I learned this important advisory information only after almost completing my first order of this product, taking the capsules with meals. So now I will purchase a second bottle of 90 capsules and follow the advice about taking the capsules on an empty stomach with the hope that the BPH symptom reduction is more effective than the meager results I've had so far.

I've taken a LOT of supplements in my life for a lot of different hoped outcomes. Almost no supplement lives up to the promise of having an immediate impact. I'd put beta sitosterol up there with creatine in terms of how fast and definitively it works. I had gotten to the point over several years where it was sometimes difficult to start or maintain a stream which is fairly serious. I had tried stinging nettle and saw palmetto and had very limited results (hard to tell if they worked at all really). However, literally within one week of starting beta sitosterol I was almost back to completely normal in terms of flow. It exceeded every one of my expectations in a big way. I never thought a supplement could get me back to very nearly normal functioning. Right now the way i am using it is one capsule first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I also take one saw palmetto pill at night (because i had already been doing that). I have no idea if the saw palmetto is working synergistically with the beta sitosterol or not. When I run out of saw palmetto I'll probably stop taking it and then see how my symptoms go. If I have to add it back I'll update my review. So far this is, by far, right up at the tippy top of the list of most effective supplements I have ever used. It has dramatically improved a situation that was getting progressively worse over time.
