Coolpad Note 3 Lite (Black, 16 GB)

Ordered on Monday night and received on Thursday afternoon with good packaging, so thumbs up for Amazon. The product itself is nothing short of incredible. Its the only smartphone that comes with a fingerprint sensor and 3 GB RAM, other specs are comparable to similarly priced products. It houses a MT6735 chipset which is adequate in terms of general performance as well as gaming. Out of the box we have Android lollipop 5.1 and 2.2 GB free RAM and 10.5 GB free internal memory. Note that this phone has dedicated SD card slot apart from 2 sim 4G sim slots. After updating all apps and google account setup the free internal memory dropped to approx. 9.5 GB. On the software front also it is great since we don't have too much of bloatware only about 8-10 apps some of which can be uninstalled. It has some good software features such as gesture controls, mutli window support, quick access key called as C button etc, customisation options are decent too. The 13 MP rear camera is really good for a phone that's priced at 7K and the front facing camera is decent too. The 720p HD display is surprisingly good too with some deep blacks and good ambient light sensor. Coming to the shortfalls the battery backup isn't all that great but average. I am getting between 3 hrs of screen on time while lasting for a day, using 2 sims and always connected to either Wifi or data. For single sim and only Wifi I got around 4 hrs of screen on time. The build quality though decent seems inferior when compared to some of the competitors. In conclusion if battery backup is not your priority then this is an excellent device with an affordable price tag.

The first problem I have with the phone is the screen quality. The color output is so incorrect, everything looks too dark, Browns are almost black. Contrast is good but it's of no use as the darker colors tend to merge together and what you get is a blackish mess of shades. The 2nd problem is the camera, which is also in part a direct result of the screen quality. The camera quality is inconsistent. Some shots are very good, others are just average. The flash is just useless as it lends a very distinct yellowish tint to the picture, hence ruining it. So low light photography is just impossible. Everything else is good, software is stable, there are no lags or hangups. It plays an appropriate of games, the availability of free RAM at all times is a boon. Battery backup is adequate, sound from the speaker and headphones and over Bluetooth is nice. The black variant doesn't have the black edges around the screen and looks a bit more in line with other offerings. Even after so many good things, I am going to change to a different phone because screen and camera quality are of utmost importance to me and unfortunately the coolpad note 3 lite fails to deliver on both these fronts.

I AM WRITING THIS COMPLETE REVIEW AFTER 1 MONTH USING THE COOLPAD NOTE 3 LITE (BLACK) Coolpad is really a new brand for the India but Coolpad born in 2003 and the Yulong Coolpad (parent company) was established in 1993 in Shenzhen and now Coolpad is the largest smartphone company in China and largest Chinese domestic brand by sales outside of China. Coolpad is doing great in India, the company continue introducing the new product one by one and the best thing about them is each of them comes with an excellent price tag without compromising the product quality. The only negative part of it is they use MediaTek chips instead of Qualcomm to reduce the cost of the product. Now the question arises what is bad in MediaTek? The answer is simple overall performance. MediaTek is a Taiwanese company. It uses more cores in its processors. Mediatek chipsets are known to be more power draining and result in less battery life, they are very good at multi-tasking because of more cores but again more cores demand more RAM to give the best performance, More performance=more cores=more heat=battery drain. Coolpad Note 3 Lite it also ships with a MediaTek's MT6735 chipset. Dual sim(both 4G) and MMC slot(supports up to 32GB only), It other words it does NOT use a hybrid slot for sim 2 and micro sd. 7. 5.0 inch HD IPS Display (Bigger the display more the productivity). 8. A good output from the 3.5mm jack, all you need is a good app like poweramp and pair of good earphone. I tested it with bundled earphones and XB70AP. -------- CONS: -------- 1. Made in China(All other brands started now making in India) 2. Camera(low light photography is very bad) and at this price tag other phones come with the better camera. 3. Non-Removable Battery and bad Battery backup, also battery takes long to charge and does not come with 2amp charger. 4. The camera is popping up from the back side, only using a back cover can save it from getting scratched. (Added picture) 5. The Menu, Home and Back keys are not backlit and does not look good. (Added picture) --------------- VERDICT: --------------- So as u can see ALL we Know that " LESS " the " CONS " the Phone Will "LASTS" for " LONG " & For the price point, Coolpad Note 3 lite has given more than one can demand, this is the only phone that comes with good 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a good fingerprint sensor at this price tag. Without any second thought, I can say it is the best phone in the market right now with this price tag. The only things I don't like about it is the camera, speaker and battery performance and that to is better if we consider the PRICE POINT . worst Product and even worst service of coolpad .. it feels to me like we are being cheated by Coolpad and Amazon is helping them in giving the platform to sell the worst phone which doesn't have proper customer support and professional service center , you will start facing the issues at early stage of warranty period . It has a common problem of Charging and within 1-3 months itself the phone will stop chagrining for which you have to visit service center multiple times . third party service center so called "Touch " (HCL' vendor )which is the worst service center in India, will surely help you feel the real pathetic service and they will make you irritated by their unprofessional talks and behavior, and this is what they can offer to the customer as they are saying they are getting paid by HCL not by Cool pad . you will not be treated as valued customer and there will be no professional communication and also they will share false Turn around time and false troubleshooting for charging issue like they will replace the cable at first level and later issue will reoccur and you will have to visit the Customer center again , next timw they will say charging socket needs to be replaced and we are initiating the part dispatch and other stuff and story . Later after few weeks they will start updating you, if you will visit the service center that the part is being dispatched from China and it is taking time .. If you will dial Customer care Number then they will even talk to you like Touch team and will not give the exact date they will keep on saying it will take one week or 2 week time ! we can't do anything , no compliant will get registered at customer care , they will not escalate the issue even ther is nothing like you can talk to supervisor or manager ! you will have to wait for hours on line and after that call will get disconnected ! Unfortunately i ordered the phone and i am the victim now .. Its been more than 1 month and still my mobile is not repaired . i had to order another phone of diff brands as since 1 month i have no luck on mobile repair and part replacement . i would only give advise to stop buying the Cool pad Products as i have faced the issue i came to know of all pathetic reprocess and service which they are offering to their customer .. Please stop buying for their Product not because they are not good but their service is pathetic .. & I you want to enjoy the pathetic service then please go ahead !!

Amazing mobile with multitasking and multifunction. 3 gb RAM, Fingerprint sencer,13mp Main Camera & 5mp front camera & glowing intimation LED all is well in Just INR.6999/- Game Lovers don’t worry! It is never lag in 2 GB game. Sencer working smoothly. Back Camera is Good but resulting approx.8 mp. Front Camera is true 5mp, Giving Good response at video Calling. 3 GB Ram really work nice and making touch smooth. 16 GB internal space really good for some apps. who can't move in SD card. I have opened FB, Whats up, Email and some other Web pages at same time and find it working okay. And main thing is mobile is Indian version made, Service Centre is almost available. No any Big Issue happens during my 1 week regular use. Weakness is just battery 2500 MH, but good for one day use. When you playing heavy games continues 25 to 40 minutes, the phone heating up to 41c. But its common issue for almost all android mobiles. At the time of video shooting its shoot in 3GP format. We can shoot it via software in MPEG also. I’m not critic of mobiles, but what I feel that I wrote. For best result, use a Transcend Premium 400x UHS Class 10 memory card 16 or 32 GB. And I’m using Airtel 4g Sim. Mobile working very fast on Wi-Fi network. If you want a best mobile in budget of Rs.7000/- This is best one without comparison. Just buy it and Enjoy.

(Added picture) 7. No latest Android, Ships with Lolipop 5.1 and there is an OTA update available but still on 5.1. 8. Available only in white color for now. 9. Bundled earphones have no bass at all but again you got them for free with the device. 10. Speakers on the back side of the phone and very bad output from the speakers, you won't even hear it if the phone is in another room. --------------- VERDICT: --------------- For the price point, Coolpad Note 3 lite has given more than one can demand, this is the only phone that comes with good 3GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a good fingerprint sensor at this price tag. Without any second thought, I can say it is the best phone in the market right now with this price tag. The only things I don't like about it is the camera, speaker and battery performance.
