It’s important to keep in mind that this is a reimagined version of Nya’s original samurai mech suit not an updated remake and with that being said I think this a good set. This set was clearly made with a small budget in mind but I don’t think it suffers because of it. The overall build of the mech is good except for the hands. Even though this is a smaller scaled mech I feel like there could have been a better option for the hands when you compare them to the rest of the mech they seem ridiculously small. The mech includes two stud shooters connected to it’s shoulders as a play feature but when they mech is standing up there is no way to make them shoot downward. One arm holds a big katana whose build is nothing impressive but gets the job done. The other arm has a double katana which can be removed and be used by Nya. The figures in this set are great. The skulkin have been redesigned for the Ninjago legacy season and this time around they have smaller heads and shoulder armor. I prefer these smaller heads to the old ones because these don’t look oversized. I do think the new heads make the skulkin seem a bit too generic compared to the old ones that had a lot more character. The new samurai x figure is fantastic and this version is exclusive to this set. I only wish it included a samurai x face print instead of the regular Nya face and shoulder armor instead of chest armor so the wonderful torso print could be seen. I would definitely recommend to Ninjago fans.

Kids who want Ninjago legos but are too young to put them together independently, this is a nice set to start with as it is available under $15 (most Ninjago sets are over $15). 5 yrs-old can put this set together with occasional help from adults. Three mini figures look great, too.

This set is great, HOWEVER if you are a longtime ninjago fan that wants to compare this to the show version, it may not be for you. The figures are alright, however the skulkin heads are a bit of a disappointment when compared to the 2011 ones, as they look nothing like the figures they are supposed to represent, so if you want a nuckal and kruncha figure, this is not the set to get them. The skullkin heads are good for custom builds though. Also, the mohawk for nuckal is a separate piece that can be knocked off easily when playing. The Samurai X figure is a really nice figure, although it does use the season 10 and onward standard Nya face print, which is a bit of a let down. The set itself has great articulation, and has a very nice build for the sword. There are no knees though. The stickers used add detail and texture to the set. and for $15, its completely worth it. But the thing is, if you are looking for a show accurate Samurai X mech, then this set isn't it. For one the scale is completely off, and the torso doesn't quite match the show version. The hands, while are average for a $15 set, aren't accurate to the show either. So in summary, if you are not a person who likes to have show accurate sets, then this set is worth it and a very good playset, and is somewhat displayable. If you are a person who likes to be show accurate, then the original is the better set to buy.

My 7 year old grandson loved this Samurai. I wouldn’t say it was easy to assemble - but if Legos weren’t challenging, what fun would that be?? This was a small set at a great price! Thank you!!

For the amount of money you pay you get 3 figures and a mech and 2 of those figures are rare since lego does not really make them that much,mech is easily built and movable.
