Geopolitical Insights
I heard about 2nd part of this book from the movie - The Tashkent files. Being really honest, don't buy the book if all you are looking for is some night read. You might need dictionary every moment or so. Me being interested in geopolitical insights was the sole reason I got it. It's a great read so far.

started reading it ... 1000 pages to go. but reading needs full concentration .. also read it only and only if you have interest in the history and the past... after all its not a fantasy fiction !!!

A fantastic read
The Mitrokhinarchives opens up an additional perspective on understanding global politics. I read the part on India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and it helped me understand the politics of the left in the three countries. More important, it helped me understand why intelligence is critical for policymaking, especially good intelligence. The KGB had become too top heavy and regimented which is why it began to err in analysing intel.

Explaining much of Twentieth Century
Amazingly, during long years, V. Mitrokhin collected first-hand data without knowing what he would do with them. At last, all his work will remain as the main opened door to the knowledge of KGB. And one time opened more and more it will appear.
