United Cutlery Damascus Steel Rurousha Leather Wrapped Forged Katana Sword

I cannot extoll the magnificence of this weapon; the craftsmanship is breathtaking, the balance and tang perfection, the blade is definitely hand forged and folded Damascus (it is not laser etched) I had a local blade smith examine the steel and he showed me under high resolution optics the quality craftsmanship of the folded Damascus steel. Furthermore the leather grip was soft and permitted a firm grip with no slippage, this grip is how I imagined a true swordsman would wrap the handle, more utilitarian, easier to maintain and replace than the later high medieval versions. Simple, elegant and deadly craftsmanship of uncompromising perfection.

This is only my 3rd sword but my first high quality sword (in this price range). Over all its great. The part of the sheath that is not covered buy the leather is beautiful. The part that is covered looks good to and gives you a big area to holed it. The blade itself is a work of art, except for the United Black stamp on it. Seeing something like that to me is like seeing a made in china stamp on something. It just takes away from the appearance. It also has a double "Blood Groove"(think its also called a fuller) that is cool, but i think it would be just as good if it only had the one. The leather wrapping was not what I expected. It looks fake but when I searched for some to buy so i could try to replace it. All i could find is Leather wrap that looked the same. So maybe it is the real think and I just don't know any better. The sword is sharp. I cut a few water bottles with it and it was clean. When holding it, it feels sturdy and durable. Even with the few things i don't like this is my favorite sword so far.

Beautiful sword, Fairly Sharp, Fits in Saya Just right. Habaki had a slight wiggle which I fixed, but other wise solid. Nice for display, light practice. Good customer service.
