Works well if you have the rice cooker recommended as pictured
If you have the steamer as pictured on cover… all recipes apply ignore the negative reviews. I wish pictures with color pics, but everything I have tried for recipes works perfect. Easy to follow instructions.

Some Great Recipes
I received a Zojirushi Rice Cooker for Christmas. There are only a few recipes included in the instruction manual packed with the cooker. I ordered the Kindle version, which makes it easy to take anywhere, but a little less convenient when actually cooking. Well I may be a little slow in my food prep. The first recipe I tried was Pineapple Chicken Fajitas and they were great. That inspired me to try more creative meals that can be made with the rice cooker.

Bought this for my son. This a great rice cooker! I have has one for over 15 years. I highly recommend this brand. Get the ricer cooker cook book to go with this purchase.

Maybe this is meant for people who don't know how to cook or have no kitchen
I have the exact unit shown in this book. Micon NS-TSC. Mine is NS-TSC-10. I have tried two recipes. Giant Pancake and baked beans. Both recipes instructed me to use the White Rice button and set a specific time. You can't set a specific time on White Rice. Only on Steam or Cake. It automatically sets a time of 60 minutes, you can't change it (at least not that I found). Both recipes were way under-cooked for the time identified. I cooked for longer, finally just moved my beans to a pot to finish. The pancake called for two cups flour. It was about 4" thick. Okay but I'd prefer a normal pancake. I'd prefer cooking baked beans in the oven. So my conclusion is that for people with a full kitchen you should just use this to make great rice. If you live in a place with no kitchen or limited pots & pans, ovens etc. then this might be a great tool to cook a variety of stuff. I'm not going to bother with any other recipes because I have a nice kitchen with plenty of ability to cook things in the traditional fashion.

No photos for the dishes
Kindle Edition... 100 Recipes but no photos with them, so you can't decide by the pictures what you might want to make. Cook books without pictures are really useless these days. Hope they update the Kindle version with pictures at least.
