Good product
I finally got to use these awning supports with our new trailer. My old trailer had the manual awning supports and handled wind better. The new electronic awning isn’t as heavy duty so the supports are really important if it’s raining or windy. I would t use this for heavy wind as it’s only as strong as the stake you put in the ground to hold the support in place, but it definitely helps. Couple minor suggestions: I’m going to cut a PVC tube about two inches long so the foot of the support will sit in the ground. That way my dog won’t pull it away when her leash tangles with it. A small stake would also work through the plastic foot on the pole, even one just a few inches long. I’m also going to get a heavier duty stake for the strap, at least when I’m on soft ground. Last suggestion and an easy fix, the u-shaped hook at the top that the awning sits in simply sits on top of the pole. It falls off easy when it’s not in use. Something that had a push fit would be a little better.

Works fantastic if set up correctly
I’ve used these on several trailers with Carefree awnings, and they’ve all held up great, even in very heavy winds. Most failures are the result of improper setup, or over tightening straps or connections, as evidenced by the photos that have been posted.

Very poorly designed.
Credit to Amazon for taking this "junk" back. Many flaws...in order of importance: ~ The "cradle" on the top that holds the awning drum has a socket for the pole-pin that is ridiculously flimsy. Instead of a 1/4" hole in a solid chunk of plastic, this thing has a flimsy "spiderweb" design that failed after 2 uses. ~ The tie-down strap is useless. The wind just spools the strap back out of the nonsense that is passed off as a clamp. Pointless...to the degree that a mild puff of wind pulled the strap, the awning lifted off the pole, and the pole hit my wife on the head! ~ The locking mechanism to set the length of the poles works well, but fundamentally it's a 1/4"x20 nut with a plastic knob just pushed onto it. In this case, the nut should be molded into the knob, but it's just a press fit. One knob fell off on the first use. Yes, I can put it back, but the lightweight plastic knob can blow away easily. I had to chase mine down...on day one! ~ After just two weekends, the padding in the cradle in which the awning drum rests was coming off. Visually, this thing is brilliant in its design, but the execution is dreadful. And given that a VERY expensive awning is depending on this thing to reinforce it in modest wind, this poor execution is more of a hazard than a help. Add insult to injury with the price of this thing, and I'm a VERY unhappy camper. Carefree should be ashamed of putting such a ridiculous contraption on the market.

Pleasantly surprised at how well these work.
We love full time in our RV. I have always hated having to bring the awning in and out based on the wind. These have been a great addition to our list of RV products. At first they appear a little flimsy, so I waited to review until they had gone through a couple thunder storms. I am really impressed with how well they have work. No more hearing my awning bouncing up and down and running to get it put in. I love the design for securing the stability strap over the awnings.(see photo) Simple, but really works well. The down sides. The straps they include have a very weak buckle system. They would get loose every couple days. I ended up tying a knot in it to keep it tight. (See pic) for the price they could at least include a ratcheting strap or a better buckle system. The stakes that come are not great if you are in loose soil. I ended up using my extra twist in stakes. So consider ordering some twist on stakes to upgrade if you are going to be in loose or sandy soils. Overall I'm very happy with the product. All the shortcomings are easy to overcome. I would recommend to anyone wanting to be able to leave their awnings out even in windy conditions.

You seldom have to bring your awning in with these great supports!
I love being able to leave our awning out without worrying about wind or rain. We are in Texas, and the weather can change on a dime. We live in our motorhome, and these supports are a godsend. We're on our second kit because we had an unexpected storm that knocked out one support, bending it. We purchased the supports after buying our Sun Shade Screen, and it keeps everything secure, even on windy days. We put clips on the support ropes so they can't come off the awning.

Like the posts but straps need to secure the post and awning
Posts or vertical supports were good but plastic arc support for awning on top easily falls off (not secure to post). Straps hook into a notch on the back side in plastic arc support instead of wrapping fully around the awning and positively securing it to posts. If wind gets under the awning and raises it even a little the posts tilt backwards allowing the straps to loosen and allow the awning to flop. Good design in theory but needs some modifications to improve durability

sturdy
this product was easy to set up and was sturdy, we tend to camp at the coast and can get some pretty windy days/nights, we use this to add extra support to a room tent that attaches to the awning and camper. In the past you would need to roll up awning as it would flap and bounce around causing loads of noise and stress on the awning arms and fabric. with these two support arms and straps the awning had no up and down movement and helped stabilize the tent/awning structure.

NOT heavy duty
I had one of the half circle ends break and one of the tightening knobs strip out. Also the strap tightening rings slip so you have to tie them off. Customer service sent me some, but not all of the replacement parts I needed after 3 months and reminding them several times. The CS guy was doing his best but the parts dept. was dropping the ball, so he said. If you have an automatic awning, make sure you shut it off after extending it, or when the wind comes up it will try to close and break stuff. When you hook the strap to the upper pole, you need to bring it over the top of the awning tube and then wrap it around the pole before tying it off to a stake or it will fall off. Hook the strap to a good heavy ground stake not a cheap tent stake or it will pull out. Tighten the strap and tie it off, then raise the pole to get it really tight. Also make sure to use 2 stakes per pole base driven in at different angles to secure the bottom of the poles. I'm happy with them and they work great so far, but I am skilled enough to repair them and fabricate needed parts. The 2 star review is because they are not heavy duty at all. I wouldn't ever recommend the regular ones and they get bad reviews for getting destroyed in a light breeze.

Just what we have been looking for
Works perfect with the awning on our Lance travel trailer (exactly like the product photo is showing). Very good support. Works with all trailer brands using the same kind of electric awning (Carefree Latitude awning). Would buy it again, I think, the awning needs that support on windy days.
