I have never figured out how to properly tie this style of obi belt. If anyone can share how to please do. The directions that came with the belt are in Japanese and don't really help.

Is the knot sewn in or seperate? Can i untie the knot, remove the velcro and use it as an actual obi?

it is sewn in but it has 2 separate components.. you can undo it but friend's in your waist size, you wouldn't be able to tie more than a basic knot. any type of fancy folding wouldn't be possible. if it's the Velcro, which i admit is problematic at times, that's the issue, you can unstich it but the problem then arises in tightening/fastening it. i love mine, i use them for quick use it just takes time and body awareness to learn the Velcro conundrum.. it is definitely worth trying one and just play with it i hope this helps

Is it made 100% out of cotton? Would you be able to dye the white one?
