D'Addario Mandolin Strings, Phosphor Bronze, EJ74-3D, Medium Gauge 11-40, 8-String Set, Pack of 3

I just purchased my first mandolin not long ago second hand and the strings don’t look as if they have ever been changed. I have been looking forward to hearing that first bright chord that new strings produce. -Shipping was amazing! The product came to me wrapped and in a box. There were no visible problems or issues with my item in transit. Amazon does know how to package stuff. -Durability was also impressive. I have been changing strings on instruments for 20+ and I always cringe when tightening the last few turns on the machine heads. I had no string breaks or sting stretching. I feel like a lot of that depends on the experience of the user but I feel like it would still be hard to ruin these quality strings. -Ease of use was incredibly easy. It’s changing strings so you just go from top to bottom or bottom to top. Remember to do it in sections! Don’t remove all the strings at once. You can mess with intonation that way. All-in-all I would highly recommend these strings to anyone who enjoys playability and great resonance in their strings. The sound was beautiful and bright. Everything I was looking for in strings I have never used before. 5of 5!!!

I recently got an inexpensive mandolin off Amazon. I was impressed with the looks, but not so much with the sound. It just sounded so quiet and dull. I thought about returning it, but decided to see if a new set of strings would help the sound. I am so SO glad I did. These strings made all the difference in the tone of the mandolin. It is so much more rich and powerful. Replacing strings absolutely SUCKS, especially 8 of them, but it is definitely worth it for the sound these strings bring to a cheap mandolin. My strings came in PERFECT condition. No kinks, no issues at all. I recommend to anyone putting on new strings to put them on by removing one string at a time and replacing it with the new one. Tightening it up slowly as you go. Do not tune it as you go. I just kept going back and fighting everything after I got another string on. I let it sit for an hour, then tuned it. It will continue to settle and go out of tune for at least another day. But taking it slow ensures you don't break strings.

The price was very good, and I got them very quickly. I have just started playing the mandolin and I had bought an instrument off of Craig's list with a broken string. Because I am a beginner, I don't have the experience to speak as an expert, but I can say they sound good to me and they have been on my instrument for about a week and are settling down and not getting very far out of tune from day to day, so the stretching is already almost done with them. My friend who has played for a number of years told me that this brand of strings are very good, and the price I paid was cheaper than I could have paid for them here in a music store in our city.

Sound and feel great. D'Addario makes fine strings.

les d'addario j74 c'est un grand classique de la mandoline bluegrass; je viens d'essayer sur ma mando des cordes elixir medium et j'ai craqué au bout de 10 jours ,je viens de remettre des d'addario et c'est vraiment ce qui me convient.La tension est ok ,le son bon ,les cordes tiennent l'accord.
