Small size. Fits well, and very functional. Recommended accessory for Macbook Pro or Air!
This little hub is small and slim, functional, and works really well. I decided to try this unit after returning another one that was about two millimeters taller in height than the bottom of my laptop (and everytime I closed the lid on my Macbook Pro, it would scrape the side). This hub fits perfectly. It is the exact height of the base or keyboard portion of my Macbook Pro, which means the lid can close with no interference. I've tried each connection, all at once and separately, and found no problems at all. One of the USB-C ports allows charging pass through, the other is for data. Now, one comment on the size. Because of the small size, at least for two of my cables (HDMI and a USB 3.1 cable), won't go all the way in. This hasn't seemed to affect the function at all, HDMI connects right away, and it recognized an external drive on the USB 3.1 port as well. You are getting a very small and convenient size, and I think some cables just are too long to totally fit in- again that hasn't affected the functionality at all. It has a nice little LED light to let you know it is connected, and stays in pretty well when removing cables. I did find that on all of these hubs, if you have a tight fitting cable, you are going to have to hold it as you pull out the cable or it will come out of the computer. This is to be expected though. This unit also is less flimsy when connected than I experienced with the larger unit I had to return. If you don't need a card reader, and your goal is USB 3.1, USB-C (Thunderbolt) and HDMI, its a great hub. It costs a little more than some of the sub $25 units, but I found the extra cost worth it so far. Good quality, small size that fits my Macbook Pro perfect, and very functional. Well worth a recommendation to buy it!

Good things come in small packages...
PROS: -Good balance of ports and size -Smaller than most other options, so better for travel/mobility -Ports function like they should, and no major heat issues with charging so far. -Great fit/aesthetics - looks sufficiently Apple-ish without having an Apple-ish effect on the wallet. CONS: -Adapter fits tightly to the body, but still can pop off when disconnecting if you're not careful. Bought the Purgo Mini USB-C Hub Adapter to pair with my new 16-inch Macbook Pro and after about a month of use, so far it's been great! It's smaller than a lot of other options, which was the primary reason I got it - I was a little skeptical of the 4 USBs + 1 HDMI all in that small a form factor, but so far it's all working well. I also wanted something that wouldn't ruin the "Apple Aesthetic", because I'm a insufferable snob when it comes to those things, but it actually integrates really well in terms of fit and finish. I was worried that it might sit too high above the keyboard surface of the laptop when it was open, which it technically does, but just barely (like less than fingernail width) so I'm totally happy with that aspect of it. And although the finish isn't a pantone-perfect match of Apple's "space gray", it's so close that even my Apple snobbery wasn't triggered. I haven't done a ton of testing re: transfer speeds on the USB ports, but everything seems pretty snappy, and so far it doesn't seem to generate a ton of heat when charging, which I was also kind of surprised by. The only real downside is that although the two USB-C connectors that fit into the laptop are pretty "grippy", the adapter can still pop off if when you're disconnecting cables/drives. You have to hold the adapter in place when disconnecting things, but that's pretty much par for the course for these types of adapters, so just be advised. Overall, I think it's well worth the $$$!

Sleek, simple, effective
I'm starting a remote job and I need at least 2-3 USB ports, which my 2019 MacBook Air does not have. Maybe soon we'll need to buy an adapter for our adapters just so we can charge our devices. Anyways, I was looking for an adapter that would expand my ports on my lap top. There wasn't a color that matches my Mac exactly, but it's gray so its close enough. The quality is also very well done and matches the feel of the lap top. It allows you to keep the two original lighting ports, while also adding an HDMI connection, as well as two USB A ports. So far I don't notice any problems as far as port connectivity. I have a keyboard connected to one USB slot, a transcription pedal on the other, while the HDMI sits empty and the one lighting port has a mouse connected to it as well. Not to mention the charger being plugged in while I'm working. Nothing cuts off while everything is in use. Only small thing is that as more things are plugged in, the adapter can start to bend the weight starts to build. Doesn't seem like it would be a big problem though, but I will update if anything happens. All things considered, I would recommend this product.

Looks sleeks, works, but does drain battery
After a long search, this is one of the best looking USB C hubs for Macbooks. I specifically wanted a hub that didn't dangle from my laptop because there are enough cords that get plugged into the hub that things can quickly get messy looking. Color matches perfectly with my space gray Macbook Air, and the hub is small and easy to travel with. Fit is flush against the laptop - not too tight, not too loose. As some other reviews mentioned, there is a light that is constantly on even with the laptop closed. I do notice the battery drains quicker with the hub in, but it isn't terrible for my purposes. To give an idea, during my 9-5 workday (including frequent Zoom meetings, using Sidecar with iPad, having multiple spreadsheets, Word docs, email, and Slack open), I can start off with full battery in the morning and by early afternoon around 1 or 2pm might feel the need to plug in my power for a while. I am usually stationary while working, so this isn't a huge deal for me. If I was out for a few hours, I would consider forgoing use of the hub to maximize battery - or looking for a different type of hub if this is important to you. Other small issue is that the ports (e.g. for USB-A) are really snug, making it difficult to pull plugs out without pulling the whole hub out. I've broken a nearby mug trying to yank a mouse port from the hub. Hopefully over time these will loosen a bit. There might be better ports out there, but this works for my current needs.

Works so well I bought a second one!!
I love my new MBP, but USB-C adapters are necessary evils until technology catches up (or I can afford to replace all my USB 3.0 / 2.0 peripherals). I bought this because it had a USB-C that would power my Mac, an HDMI port and a couple of USB 3.0 ports. I haven’t been disappointed. It’s a solid adapter. It fits flush, and since it’s aluminum it doesn’t “sag” so there’s no deflection. The “hot” USB-C port works great; I’ve had no loss of power or reduction in charging speed. I have a 4K monitor connected through the HDMI port and there’s no degradation in video quality. I also have a second adapter plugged in to the other USB-C so I can connect a second monitor - still no loss of video quality. The only thing I can’t testify to long-term is data transfer. I have an external drive I use for my Time Machine. It’s usually connected in a USB-C port in the other side, but there were a few days I had it connected through the adapter. I didn’t notice any issues with write speed or data integrity; but again, that’s not long-term. It’s fully reversible so you can use it on either side. This is an all around a great adapter - well worth the price. Two months after I bought the first one there’s now a second one on the other side of my Mac! I can’t recommend this enough!!

the perfect hub for my 2019 MacBook Pro
I have purchased a lot of hubs, some of them cheaper and some a lot more expensive. None have performed as well as this hub. This has exactly the ports I need. It works just as well attached to either side of the MacBook. It fits very snug and matches the space gray finish of my MacBook perfectly. Typically I have the hub on the right side with my power adapter plugged into the top USB C port, my ravpower backup drive in the other USB C port and my HDMI monitor in the HDMI port. The hub still works without power, so the power adapter into the top port isn't mandatory. My second favorite connection is for when I travel; I plug my power adapter into the built-in USB C port on the right side and attach the hub to the left side. Into the the top USB C port of the hub I have a USB C cord running to my iPad Pro to keep it charged and to use as another screen and I have my ravpower backup running in the second USB C port. This gives me the two regular USB ports available to use, which I inevitably need. The hub I've been using would lose connection to my HDMI monitor several times a week and I'd have to unplug the cable and potentially reboot the hub (which required power) and/or my MacBook to get it back. This one stays connected.

All Expectations Have Been Met
I just got a new macbook pro for grad school and I like to use a mouse so my macbook doesn't have any usb outlet. So I searched and came across this. It looks aesthetically pleasing, has a hdmi, 2 charging ports, and 2 usb ports and I was sold. It came the following day free because I'm a prime member, and once I got it I had to see if it was worth it for myself. And it is! Very sleek. Light-weight. And it clicks to let you know its going to stay in sturdy. It also lights up to let you know it's working too. Works like a charm. The only downsides is, the light indicating that its on doesn't turn off even if your laptop is on sleep mode so it can take up some battery energy. It doesn't drain your battery but it does take up some of the energy. I went from 100% to 96% when I left it in there for an entire day. No problem at all. Another downside is that it isn't perfectly flush with the trim of the laptop. Slightly more elevated than the laptop itself. Like literally .05 mm higher and it is barely noticeable. Only reason I notice it is because I'm a perfectionist. Other than that, it is amazing and worth the price. Granted we all want things cheaper and I do believe they could lower the price to the mid 40's but alas, it is worth every penny you paid. No cheap quality was used in making this product for sure. I highly recommend.

Nice idea with some drawbacks
The Purge Mini USB C hub adapter is a nice idea to consolidate connections needed for USB C, HDMI, and USB A connections. The USB C ports are able to continue to power the laptop, the HDMI port works well, and great if you need some USB A ports also. My biggest issue with the adapter and why I stopped using it is that the adapter is not as snug to the laptop as needed. For example, when I unplug the HDMI cable from the adapter, it pulls off the whole adapter which is a drawback for me especially as I use an external monitor with an HDMI cable. Overall, it's a nice idea but not right for my usage where I need to plug/unplug cables frequently.

Just what the doctor ordered!!
This product arrived on time and is exactly what I was after! The dongle fits snugly and flush against the MacBook Pro and looks like an Apple product. Has all the key ports and nothing superfluous. Very happy with the purchase!!

Stylish and compact with great build quality
Excellent addition to my MacBook Pro expanding the limited ports available. Build quality is much higher than cheaper alternatives and the ports are nice and snug (avoiding accidental hard drive ejections). My Space Grey versions a spot-on colour match for the MacBook Pro.
