The “egg” is easy to use and stylish! I’d have preferred the numbers at the top but the shape prevents that. Also, the ringer is not very loud and only rings for maybe 8 seconds or so… would have preferred longer! I can make this work as when I need it , I’m usually close by but this might be something to consider if one is using it for projects that need have an exact time frame!

What a comfort to have a simple mechanical device that doesn't require a 6-page booklet, a multi-speed dial, a "short press", or a "long press". Turn the top to 55 to wind it, turn it back to the time you want, and wait for your selected time to tick down. It has a moderate volume ring (like a telephone once sounded) which is adequate inside the kitchen, but you won't hear it in other rooms. I do not hear it ticking unless I hold it up to my ear. It's heavy for its size and attractive -- true to its picture. Its predecessor was a little plastic egg-shaped timer that lasted for 27 years. I wonder if this one can match it.

This is my second one, my husband uses one outside when barbecuing and I indoors for both cooking and baking. Best timer I’ve ever used.👍

It does not ring, so I am not sure what its purpose is.

I can only say I have used the timer a few times. I am hoping it will be everlasting! My other manual after many many years, cogs rotted away and I was in need of another. Try finding a decent manual timer that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, or that actually can be heard! Would you think that would be an issue? I like the heaviness of the egg from Jayron, and the egg is sizable to fit in the palm of my hand. I will say the sound is not so loud, that I could be confident to hear it from another floor, or if other noises drown it out. The sound is not very long-maybe five seconds; it is discernable and I can rely on it, but I feel like I should try to remain closer to it to stay comfortable with the alarm. I do hope it lasts...

Stainless steel timer which works easily and perfectly in an attractive, sturdy design. Much better value for the money, than the plastic ones you see all over the place. RECOMMEND

The stainless-steel look goes with all kitchens, and it works perfectly.

Could hardly hear the alarm it is very quiet

The item works as specified and the timing accuracy is also acceptable. However, the quality of the product is poor and uses plastic gear wheels in the inside mechanism, which can break down at any time. Not worth for the money paid.

Bought one many years ago. Timer still works but alarm stopped functioning . Good timer hence bought 2 more that have functioning alarms . Great for timing different items on the grill. As for the first ones alarm. Nothing lasts for ever . Prevents the oops forgot to flip the steaks situation .
