Tips & Instructions!
Pros: 1. Works like a charm as soon as it is taken out of the fridge. 2. Yes, I feel it is dishwasher safe.Cons: 1. If you let it sit for too long outside the fridge in room temp. the cutter will not slice the butter all the way. 2. If you have a child, don't let them stick their finger inside. 3. It's made of hard plastic, don't expect it to last a lifetime. 3.The instructions are not clear on how to load the butter into the device.Steps:1. Turn the device upside down so the razor/bottom is facing up.2. Squeeze and hold the device and shake until the plastic box inside falls out.3. Turn the device up so the razor is facing the bottom and insert stick of butter.4. Put the block that fell out of the top back in the same way it came out. When you start squeezing it multiple times you will hear clicking and the block will start to fall down and the butter will start to come out in slices at the bottom.I hope this helps!

Don't forget to wash it.
I absolutely loved this...for a while. Cuts the perfect slice of butter for a piece of toast, a couple of clicks for mac and cheese, really the worst part was putting more butter in because it was the only time I had to inconvenience myself with butter. Gone were the days when I would have to use a whole butter knife when I was cooking just to get some of that delicious stuff in the pan. I even portion controlled my butter! It's so much easier to cut a big chunk off a stick, but the slice by slice method really makes you rethink how much butter you really need.I was really bummed because a few sticks into it the cutter started straining a little, no big deal. A few more sticks and butter kept building up in the little nook and making the slices stick. Still okay. a couple months in the thing became almost unusable and I was so upset and I considered throwing it out. But then I thought "OMG WASH THE DAMN THING"So I stuck it in the dishwasher and VOILA. PERFECT AGAIN. HOORAY FOR EVERYONE, BUT ESPECIALLY ME!

Measure the width & height of your butter sticks!
Product looks like it would work well. Unfortunately the sticks of butter are not narrow enough to put in the dispenser without trimming. They are about 1/8 inch too fat on all sides to fit and need to be parred down. The length is no problem. .... (Maybe it's the area I live in that this is a problem; but I thought butter sticks were the same size everywhere)

I use this daily. Works almost perfectly!
The Butter Cutter is fairly easy to use, definitely easy to clean, and I love it. My only complaint is that I wish it had a cap for the bottom, so the butter wouldn't be exposed. But I just set it on a small saucer in one corner of my top shelf, and that works just fine. I am on a low-carb diet per doctor's orders, and I drink a decaf butter coffee every morning. Being able to cut a pat of butter in a moment, rather than cutting it by hand with a knife, is SO much easier. I love this thing, and over the past couple months of use, it's held together very well too. Great product!!

Good idea -- couldn't get it to work
The little block that is the butter pusher came stuck in the spring and my husband who has been a mechanic for 48 years couldn't get it unstuck with out breaking the thing. So frustrated. I didn't know it was coming from China it took so long to get I almost forgot I ordered it. Looks like it would be easy with hot water to just rinse and clean. It is heavy duty plastic. It was straining to cut the butter that was half frozen

Point And Click Butter!
This is the ideal butter dispenser for our household. Note: that includes my wife and myself. It does require figuring out the proper hold and some grip to be able to squeeze this so I wouldn't recommend this for those who have a particularly weak hand (small children / elderly) but my wife is on the not-particularly-strong end of the spectrum (Weak? Of course not. I like my marriage!) and she loves using this.Pros:- Super simple, clean and fast - I make my morning bagel or toast and click, click - the perfect amount of butter- Takes up much less room on a shelf than a traditional butter dish (we use the skinny stand up slot that normally only holds salad dressing thickness sized things)- Easy to load - I peel the wrapper back on one end of the butter like peeling a banana and once the stick is inserted, I grab the label and peel the rest of it off allowing the butter to drop the remainder of the way in without ever touching the butter. Yay for neat freaks and germophobes!- Stopped "that relative" from rolling his corn on the cob in the community stick of butter. This is family specific, but in my experience, most families have "one of those" people at dinner from time to time.Cons: (no deal killers - just things to be aware of)- If you leave this out, the butter will warm and sag around the pin at the bottom that holds the butter in place. This just means your next slice will have more butter. Chill again (the butter and possibly you) before next use.- The last slice comes without warning and tends to be thicker than standard slices. I don't mind a bit of extra butter on my toast, but if you're using this to measure for cooking, that may throw it off. I recommend using the measurements on the wrapper for cooking anyhow. Generally it's more efficient and accurateIn short, we love it and would recommend it to just about everyone that can open most jars. Even our little nieces went to town on this and they were all 10 and under.
