This Evening Primrose Oil is amazing. I love that it's made from high-quality, cold-pressed oil. Since using it, my skin looks much clearer with fewer hormonal breakouts, and it has helped tremendously with my menstrual comfort.

I'm going to write the review of this product that I wanted to read when I was ordering this. It has to do with WHY I ordered it. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and unless I go into labor on my own, my doctor only wants me to have a scheduled c-section. Frankly, I feel like I'm being bullied into it and I'm trying to avoid it if at all possible. There is no solid medical reason for it. So, step one in the labor process is softening the cervix. The doula and midwife have all recommended EPO for this. Please note that this does NOT begin labor, it does not even cause contractions. It simply prepares your body for that. After getting their okay I first purchased something locally that was very expensive and only came in a liquid form, so I couldn't use it as directed. It will make your head spin to see how many products are out there. Most are marketed with language that "is not supported by the FDA" that list softening the cervix as a purpose or potential use for EPO. This product does not list that, though one of the bullet points lists prostaglandin production as a benefit. Prostaglandin is essential for softening the cervix, your body will naturally produce it as your time approaches. Since I need to show some "progress" towards natural labor I started with this. About this product, for this purpose: -This product is a great quality product that I feel comfortable using and relying on to be consistent in dosage and ingredients -The capsules dissolve completely. I won't get into how they are used (ahem) but they work exactly how I need them to -Though the capsules are large, they are relatively easy to take orally -If you don't want or need to swallow a full capsule then they are very easy to puncture and drain. The oil inside is very consistent and even tastes like the EPO oil I got from the local compounding pharmacy for way too much money -The packaging is a flip-top type bottle so it's easy to use. If you need to childproof it you will need a different bottle on hand Now, if you're reading this because you are in the same boat as I am, you want to know if it works. Well, yes, apparently it does. I really do not know if the effect was incidental to timing or to the use of this product, but I went from 0% and hard to 50% effaced and 1cm in less than 5 days. The first 24 hours of use produced some very mild, low cramping sensations but that was it. Depending on how you are taking them you need to start with a single dose and monitor yourself for any side effects. If you have any GI issues, feel nauseated, get headaches, or become dehydrated from the GI issues you are taking too much. This is a high dosage for this purpose, if you're at all concerned you need to order a lower dose. I do plan to continue to take it after this baby is born (though not right away) because it has some other purposes that I was looking for anyway. This is basically all I'm doing to try and encourage things to take the next step, other than the usual walking and whatnot. I'm very pleased that it seems to have worked as efficiently as it has. My doctor was mildly surprised to see progress and we are now looking at this birth as a trial of labor instead of scheduled c-section. That was exactly what I had as my goal and it's been achieved. Again, I don't know that I could say with 100% authority that this product is entirely the reason for it but all the evidence points to it. Talk to your medical professionals that are willing to discuss the use of alternative products and make sure this is a safe use for this product, and if so then I definitely recommend this company and product specifically.

OK so I have one HUGE regret with this product. THAT I DIDNT START TAKING THIS 5 YEARS AGO!!! Why can’t this product come with a time machine where I can transport myself back in time and save myself so much misery and woe and let me frickin enjoy life!! After two-three months of taking this, my hormonal acne that ALWAYS appeared around my period since starting birth control... suddenly just STOPPED coming. The reviews for this product rang true and I nearly climbed to the top of my apartment building to shout to the world that I FINALLY FOUND A REAL, INEXPENSIVE AND HEALTHY SOLUTION FOR MY STUPID ACNE!!! I don’t even have to focus on the healing of acne SINCE IT DOESNT EVEN REAR ITS UGLY HEAD ANYMORE AT ALL. Old acne spots are healing and whenever I do have any small bumps anywhere (which is rare), I can use this stuff topically and it works it’s magic YET AGAIN. It also helps a lot with my moodiness and anxiety that my birth control always made worse. AND helps SIGNIFICANTLY with period cramps, to the point where I don’t even really have them anymore. Cherry on top anyone?? I didn’t change my diet. I didn’t use different makeup. I didn’t drink tons more water (which is always good for you but hard to do). THIS WAS ALL I CHANGED. Now my main concern is how to let everyone in the world know that this wonderful thing exists. I’d like to order a bathtub full of this stuff, please. A semi-truck load works too. ITS A LIFESAVER DONT THINK JUST BUYYYYYY (and be patient because your body needs at least 2 months to make a real difference. Rome wasn’t built in a day, you’ll be fine girl YOU GOT THIS)

I like this brand for supplements. These seem high quality. They didn’t agree with me. Dosing or absorption seems inconsistent or is unclear. No odor. No taste. Quality ingredients.

It’s a great product. I’ve been taking it for over a year and it has almost stopped my night sweats after menopause. I will continue with the product as it does what I need it to do.

Update : changed it to 5 stars !!! It works !! Bought this product after searching to get relief from hot flashes and sleeplessness due to harmone changes. It's been about 10 days now and I see a significant improvement in my sleep quality and decrease in hot flashes as well. I combined this with my multi vitamins, Vit D and seems to be effactive. This product works and my preference was to take a natural remedy for the hormonal issues. The size of the capsule is a little big but that doesn't bother me if I get the desired results. There is no after taste or smell and I usually take after dinner and there is no burping as well. I only gave it a 4 star since I want to finish up the bottle and see its effectiveness.

In May 2016, I quit taking my birth control pills because I wanted my body to take a break from having to do with synthetic hormones. The birth control had kept my mild hormonal acne under control (pretty much clear skin) for 2 years already. My skin stayed clear for about 3 months after quitting the pills, then my hormones went out of control on the right side of my face and my forehead. I attributed it to quitting birth control, which might have thrown my hormones off track. Anyways, I went back on the same birth control pills for about 3 weeks, and to my dismay my acne was actually getting worse! I don't know how I found out about this evening primrose oil, but on a whim I purchased it because of all the positive reviews. I have been taking it for about a week, and my acne is starting to clear on the right side of my face (albeit there's still scarring left by the horrendous acne breakout). In addition, my forehead is pretty much smooth now! I used to have a lot of red bumps that weren't pimples (I'd assume sebum buildup). I am still taking my birth control in fear that the acne will return with an even bigger vengeance, but I have paired it with taking 1 pill of this oil every day along with eating very clean and healthy! On another note, which is totally unrelated to my reasons for taking this oil, I have noticed that my stomach is flatter than it's ever been. I don't feel bloated at all either. I will take this for life! Since I've only been taking it for about a week, I'll have to update my results after a month. UPDATE __________________________________________________________________________________ So it is now November 13, 2016! Unfortunately, shortly after this review I stopped taking the pills for about 2 weeks. My acne improved as mentioned in my previous review. However, I am not sure if I can 100% attribute to taking this pill for the short time that I did or if it was just my body recovering from the hormonal imbalance. However, I still have great news. My acne stuck around until I made a small incision in the capsule and lathered some of this oil onto my face (PLEASE DO A PATCH TEST ON YOUR SKIN BEFORE YOU GO ALL OUT). For fear of a bad reaction to the oil, I washed it off after 10 minutes. Then I went to sleep. The next morning, I noticed my skin was significantly less inflamed, and the acne was not as red. Now I put this oil on my face as a moisturizer every night before I sleep, and I wash it off in the morning. I've been doing this for 3 weeks in addition to taking 1-2 capsules a day (with meals). My acne has all but disappeared, with one or two bumps. I am impressed. There's quite a bit of scarring left from the bout of hormonal acne, but it's nothing that won't go away within 6 months time. I'm so glad I am not predisposed to boxcar acne scars or some of those other horrendous acne scars that people get. I just get blemished. Anyways, try this if you haven't! But please, do a patch test. You may be able to tolerate ingesting it, but your skin is a whole 'nother story! UPDATE ------------------------------------------ December 12, 2015 My acne is pretty much non-existent. All that's left now are the blemishes, which I'm sure a round of microdermabrasion can take care of. I've also been using Curology's customized acne prescription, which has helped tremendously I'm sure.

God answered my prayers when he showed these to me! I only wish I would have discovered these five years ago. I have been going through perimenopause and my hormones have been causing me a lot of problems at work and at home. I had terrible mood swings, bad road rage and noises were getting on my nerves to the point where I know my coworkers thought I was crazy. I had turned into a mean irritable person to the point where I couldn't stand myself. I want to say this is the first review I have ever wrote. I have bought hundreds of items over the years online and have never wrote a review. While I rely on the reviews to give me insight before I buy something I feel it necessary to let everyone who reads this know how much these have helped me. I received my first bottle on March 8, 2018 but wanted to wait until I had blood work done by our nurse at work before I started taking them. I am 50 years old and my blood work definitely showed that I was in menopause. Although I got my results from the blood work on March 13, 2018 I had a GYN appointment on March 22, 2018 and was going to wait until after my appointment to start taking the Evening Primrose. Well all I can say is I had a strong feeling (from God) to go on Amazon and read some of the reviews that morning before my appointment that afternoon. After I read about 20 reviews I decided to take one of the pills before going to work. After taking that one pill that morning before work, I can honestly say that I have not gotten mad, been irritable, had road rage and noises have not gotten on my nerves since that first pill! As of today I have only been taking them 11 days, taking two pills a day, 1 in the morning and 1 at night. I am calling them my MIRACLE pills. This is the GODS honest truth. I don't want to ever run out. I have not felt so calm and peaceful in a long time. I was getting angry and having terrible road rage just about every day. All noises were one of my biggest problems. I work in a manufacturing warehouse with loud machines and felt like I was about to go insane, even with earplugs in my ears as far as I could put them. It def does sth with hormones cuz I got my periods a week earlier and they lasted a day longer. I havent noticed any change in my hair yet but I somehow have positive feel for these pills.

I want to share my experience but also be transparent in that I used a few things to resolve my breast cysts and cyclical breast pain within ONE cycle!! I have a holistic background and try to manage and heal things naturally . Since I discontinued breastfeeding my daughter 5 years ago, I’ve been having horribly painful , HEAVY breasts during my luteal phase (from ovulation until period, so, the 2 weeks before period ) that blow up like 2 sizes every single month. It become a norm for me and I figured it was hormonal and normal. ITS NOT NORMAL . It’s actually a sign of imbalance hormones likely caused my estrogen dominance. I started getting a bit concerned when I’d feel a sharp pain on the left breast randomly during those times , but not the right . I have health anxiety so I would worry I had breast can**r or something brewing. Well recently, I had a particularly difficult few months; special needs mama running a full time business and my child was going through a severe mental psychosis , I was getting little to no sleep, in and out of the hospital, and eating trash whilst gulping coffee and next to no water. I’m a herbalist so I know the importance of medicinal foods , herbs , supplements, water and sleep but when life got impossible it went out the window (lesson well learned btw- NEVER THROW YOUR HEALTH ON THE BACK BURNER !! ) - I digress . Following this difficult time, my luteal phase rolls along and BOOM - sharp pain in the left knocker , sore heavy breasts ect, but this time the left pain didn’t stop it was baaaad, and my god, I found a lump . It was visible to the skin and RED. Even though I KNOW lumps are common and likely not cancer, and the development of this one was so sudden, I automatically was convinced I had it. I was SCARED . Lump was like a jumbo gumball size . I felt like it wasn’t movable and rock hard and from everything I’d read that meant it wasn’t a cyst which was terrifying . After a big panic and puddle of tears I got to work. Firstly i booked an ultrasound because they can determine if it’s a cyst or needs further testing . Important info: DONT do an ultrasound during the luteal phase !!! It was horrible that I had to wait 2 weeks to find out , BUT it’s best to go the week after your period when your hormones are leveled again because breasts can get lumpy and weird in your luteal phase . I immediately went on a healing protocol - whether it was a cyst or cancer , Its a sign of imbalance and I wanted it gone. Here’s what I did : I prioritized sleep . 7 hours MINIMUM and at the correct time . Before 11 to access the healing hours . I intermittent fastet 16 hours daily . (Please do your own research and or consult a naturopath as I am not permitted to provide medical advice , this is just my experience based on my background, research and comfort levels) DIM LUGOlS IODINE 6 drops of 2% (From what I’ve understood a telltale sign of iodine deficiency is sore breasts /cysts and general breast issues; it’s a must for general breast health and prevention ) HIGH DOSE EVENING PRIMROSE OIL - 3000mg VIT E - 1200iu I think these 4 were the most important and impactful Additionally I took SERRAPEPTASE which breaks down scar tissues , mucus , cysts etc And I took herbs / supplements to support my liver because if your liver isn’t functioning optimally your hormones will not be in Balance . This included: milk thistle, artichoke extract, tumeric/curcumin I also made sure to take my regular supplements such as vit d + k2 , b vitamins , magnesium , fish oil I drank warm herbal teas of all sorts all day in place of plain water like mushrooms , morninga , green tea , mullein etc . Ok so topically - each night …i painted the breast with iodine, rubbed magnesium lotion on it and I wore a castor oil pack on the breast (look it up)- castor oil penetrates deeper than any other oils into the tissues - healing & promoting lymph flow . I also tried to take warm baths with magnesium flakes nightly. I also practiced mindfulness and used sound therapy via playing my F NOTE singing bowl everyday- F note is associated with the heart and surrounding organs as well as the breasts . Sound frequencies align with our bodies frequencies and can heal imbalances Within 10 days the lump was nearly gone !! Ultrasound confirmed it was 2 cysts . The best part ?? Those sore breasts I was getting every single month for the past five years? The next luteal phase I didn’t have an ounce of breast tenderness! I actually cried my eyes out to my husband. I couldn’t believe that it was gone! It’s crazy what deficiencies can cause, and our body really speaks to us if you pay attention… we have a lot of power in our health !
