I bought these starter earrings after my daughter had her ears pierced in a mall store. They used regular earrings with regular backs that ended up with the 'jewel' & earring back sliding too close to one another while she slept. She woke up in pain with a bloody ear as the 'jewel' had gotten lodged inside her earlobe. It was hard to remove since I could not grab hold of both the jewel & earring back & pull in opposite directions. She was crying, bleeding, & scared -- it made for a miserable start to that Thanksgiving morning. I couldn't believe they did not use starter earrings on her! I ended up ordering these & could not have been more pleased! They are perfect: Nice thick posts, earring backs that click into place & don't push in any further, sterile, & hypoallergenic. Yeah, the backs are a tad harder to remove, but I consider that a bonus (!) because you never have to worry that the backs might fall off as you go through the day. I bought them for my daughter but use a pair myself which I almost never take out. They are comfortable to sleep in. I have given away one of the pairs to a friend who had her daughters ears pierced & had issues. I told her these earrings were the way to go! My daughter has since gotten a few more ear piercings, so it's time for me to reorder without any hesitation. I highly recommend them! They came quickly & were well packaged. I love that they are sterilized & marked with the date that the sterilization remains effective, which is several years out. There was a nice note & extra earring backs -- though I will likely never need them, it's nice to be safe than sorry! If you need great starter earrings or just quality small studs, these are my recommendation. They aren't exactly super fancy, which is why I gave them a 4 for "giftable," but they are quality at a decent price & I had no problem giving them to a friend in need!

Like these very much, they replaced ones that I had in the past. Very comfortable and a good price.Hypoallergenic too, good thing if that is needed. Great as gifts for girls and women and can mix and match them too. These are good quality and highly recommend them for people who have allergy concerns, dont need to worry about that. I have a second piercing in my ear lobes that had basically closed up due to lack of use. I could not use regular stud earring to open the hole so I bought these. They worked very well, the sharp point was able to pierce through the hole, although the "step" where the stud increased in size was difficult to push through. I have extremely sensitive ears and have bought other studs that claimed to be nickel free and have had terrible reactions. These are genuinely nickle free and have caused no reaction at all. The size is perfect for a second piercing, small but attractive. Very pleased.

I have been looking for this type earrings for years. They are like the ones I got when I had my ears pierced over 30 years ago. Seem like great quality. Look better than I thought they would and the back will not come off easily or stick your head when sleeping. Great for younger kids.

I really like these. A nice variety that are the thickness if piercing studs. My only complaint is they are hard to take off. I'm happy they lock and I don't have to worry about losing one, but they don't come off as easily as the studs I got my ears pierced with. Seems to help grabbing each side with a cloth to take them out.

I'm so glad I found these I lost my studs and I needed to replace them and I found these you can sleep in them without pain they won't turn your ears green or give you infections I will buy them again

I've been looking for more of these "starter" earrings after losing my very first earrings in a house fire. I have always worn them since first getting my ears pierced a long long long time ago...but took them out the day before the fire. They were the stars and now I have them back!! Plus, I got other shapes as well (heart, ball stud and pretty simulated sapphire, diamond and pearl) I forgot how 'tight' the backing is but I know that they'll never accidentally come off. I am very happy!!

The only earrings my 2yo didn't have any skin reaction when wearing it. It is also short and not thin. Hence it doesn't poke her skin behind the ears. Love it!
