Melissa & Doug Safari Buddies Plush Hand Puppets 6-Piece Pretend Play Set

This set of safari hand puppets is one of those toys that immediately sparks creativity. From the moment we opened the box, it turned into storytelling, laughter, and full-on little “shows” at home. The variety of animals (elephant, tiger, parrot, giraffe, monkey, zebra) makes it easy to create different characters and stories. It’s not just a toy—it becomes a whole play experience. Even adults can join in, which makes it great for shared playtime. The quality is exactly what you’d expect from Melissa & Doug. The fabric is soft but durable, and the stitching feels solid. After multiple uses, they still look great. I also appreciate that they’re surface-washable, which is a must for anything handled this often. Size-wise, they fit both kids and adult hands comfortably, which makes interaction much more natural. That’s something a lot of puppet sets get wrong, but not here.

So fun! Sized for kids/small adult hands. Dads will have a hard time using these. Super cute, toddler is obsessed.

My great grandson 2.5 yrs old just loved these!!! They are very well-made, colorful, soft and easy to understand what they are. Fabrics are good and the design is excellent . These guys are really made for fun and the price was very very reasonable for what you get. Puppets my grandson can interact with others in this will be better than a computer or screen, of course!

This Safari Buddies hand puppet set is a strong buy for toddlers and preschoolers. The animals are cute, colorful, and genuinely soft, and they hold up well to regular play. It is easy to see why Melissa and Doug is a go to brand for simple, screen free pretend play. The variety in the set also helps keep kids engaged because they can rotate characters and make up different stories. For kids, the sizing works well. A toddler can slip a hand inside and start playing immediately, and the puppets are light enough that they do not feel awkward or heavy. They are also easy to clean, which matters for anything that is going to be hugged, dropped, and carried around the house. My one complaint is the fit for adults. The interior space is tight, and if you are an adult trying to run these puppets for story time with your child, it can feel cramped. These are clearly more comfortable for child sized hands. If you plan to primarily let your kid use them independently, it is not a big issue. At $24, this is a great value set and a fun gift. I am holding back one star only because the adult hand fit limits the shared play experience that many parents expect from hand puppets.

I purchased the Melissa & Doug Safari Buddies Hand Puppets Set of 6 for my little one and it has quickly become a favorite in our household. The set includes fun safari animals (elephant, tiger, parrot, giraffe, monkey, zebra) that are soft, cuddly and sized for both kids and adults. What I love: Great for imaginative play: My child loves putting on puppet shows and exploring different voices and stories with these characters. Quality build: The puppets are washable, made of durable fabric and hold up really well even with regular play. Amazon +1 Versatile for ages: Although made for kids 2 +, they also fit my hand comfortably so I can join in the fun — perfect for bonding time. Value pack: A full set of six animals means we have multiple characters to mix and match, making playtime more varied and engaging. Bottom line: If you’re looking for a high-quality, engaging puppet set that encourages pretend-play, storytelling and creativity, this one delivers. My child uses it daily and it’s already added a lot of joy to our playtime. Definitely five stars!

I use them for entertainment and for teaching since I homeschool my 2 & 1 yr old. They have fun and love it too! If you plan of teaching them about animals this is a fun idea! If you create educational content for kids like I do for my daughters YouTube channel: Princess Skylar & Scarlett Then, you really will love it!! Worth your money, fits perfectly on my hand and my 2yr old. Very cute, easy to use and to move mouth. Very durable.

These hand puppets are so adorable. I love the zoo animals and the quality is perfection. It’s great that you can put them on your hand but they are like cute little stuffed animals too. When I found these at a discount price I immediately purchased but would gladly have paid full price. With 6 puppets in the box, I was able to keep three myself and give three to my daughter-in-law. My grandson loves them. What a great value and would make a unique gift to give too. This is a 5 star purchase all the way!

My daughter plays with my grandson at meal time. He enjoys the puppets so much. He is 11 months. These hand puppets are great for all children.
