solid sturdy hula hoop
these Liberty hoops seem more solid than previous ones we've had. They were quite easy to put together. Good value for the money.

Worth it
ASSEMBLY: As soon I received it, I put it together. Assembly is a bit of a struggle for someone without upper body strength and the material is slightly heavier than a premade solid hoola hoop but it works brilliantly. It says it can be made smaller than the 6 segments; however, the curvature in the segments makes creating a smaller hoop more challenging. DISASSEMBLY: If you bought this thinking about how easy it would be to store this, i will let you know, disassembly is just as challenging- if not more challenging- as assembling. You have to be mindful of the material when disassembling, as it is a moderately firm plastic. Softer than a squirt gun, think of it more like a super soaker chamber, if you manipulate the material too much, it splits at its seems. So be careful with applying too much weight or pressure when you disassemble- probably just better to keep it assembled. USE: Simple, typical. Kids will love it, although they might not like the color scheme. Depends on the kiddo.

Not What I Was Looking For...
I was looking for a basic hoop to use to build some skill before I jump into using a weighted hoop for exercise. This seemed to fit all the critera for what I was looking for so I ordered it. Got it the other day, assembled it, and turns out it's too small despite reviews and descriptions saying it should be big enough. Yes, it fits me, but it's not big enough to keep up the momentum; I get about a spin and a half before it falls to the floor. So, if you have a waist size bigger than 35"... don't listen to the other reviews this isn't is. I will be returning. As far as assembly goes... it's simple enough. You don't need instructions and it's self explanatory. HOWEVER.... it does take some strength to get the pieces to all fit together as they should. But given the thickness of the material and how snugly it all fits together, I would say that this would hold up reasonably well and be pretty durable for a kid's rough-and-tumble play.

hula hoop ?
As you can see, this is not a one piece hula hoop ; you need to assemble the parts. If it was one piece, it could actually be used as a hula hoop without falling apart. I purchased these to put one in my koi pond to allow new fish that hide to eat from inside the hoop. The hoop contains the food so it doesn't get pulled into the filtration system before the fish get to eat it. Regardless of how well you think you snapped the ends together, they do not fit snugly nor do they lay flat causing the fish pellets to float out from underneath. If you do happen to put a flat one together, water always finds a way and it starts sinking. You need to take it apart piece by piece and let the water drain out of each section. It's difficult to pull apart to do this. Bring back the old hula hoops - these are a waste of time, money, and quite frankly, an expensive joke!

sturdy
The hula hoops are sturdier than the one piece ones at Target or Walmart. You connect the segments yourself. It does take a little oomph, but not too bad. Some of them didn't click in, so I just separated those and tried again, and it was fine.
