Great option for starter boards and small rigs
I have to start by saying I was skeptical of this pedal, but I'm helping a buddy start his rig and this hit the right price point. The first impression I had of it was the packaging. 1) the pedal is heavier than most mini-enclosure size pedals, and it stands up much more stable than other ones. 2) It's packed very well 3) They included a patch cable and pre-cut velcro for the pedal. So with that my interest got started. Upon plugging in, I quickly bonded with the chorus options, these do a really good job at getting very usable tones. You may need to crank the mix knob to get the sweet spot. I also really like the trem options, they each had different voices and I could get a couple of cool tones from each. The rate knob has a lot of range and can get really fast and slow The flange and phase sound like classic pedals, I don't personally use those effects much, so I quickly skipped over them. The LoFi mode is nuts, it's going to take some time to get used to it. A few notes/concerns. 1) This pedal was picking up noise from another pedal I had on a simple daisy chain, powered on its own it was dead quiet. So isolated power is probably the right move, which may be an issue for starter pedalboards. If you're looking for a good power solution, Sonicake has a really affordable one. 2) The LED knobs will not be as abuse resistant as metal ones, so be nice to it 3) I couldn't really find a use for the tap tempo, it's a good feature but since it doesn't do sub-divisions I had a hard time getting the trem to the right rhythm So, all in all, I would say this is a great pedal for the right people. If you're after an affordable place to start on modulation effects, a bedroom player, or need an effect with a very small spot available on your board, this is a great pedal. If you're a boutique or vintage aficionado, you may not like this and should be looking at the products made for your market.

Huge bang for buck.
This pedal is great. This is the second Sonicake product I have purchased and I like them both. First thing I like is the price. You get 11 effects for less than a lot of single pedals cost. This is obvious but reveals an isote into what I like about this pedal. I’ll explain. I’ve never been a fan of chorus and flanger effect, and they don’t fit in my style well or the type of music I play. So I will say this about those effects on this pedal. The perform precisely as advertised, if that is a sound you are looking for then this will work great for you. The bit crush and wawa effects are very cool and convenent and make some cool unique sounds. These are flavor adding effects and are great for that. Now to the effects I will use a lot. The tremolo effects are already used in a live video I made with my band (Alright Alright) for a holiday song. It sounds great. Tempo can be adjusted by tap tempo as well and that’s cool for live useage. The roto sound will be used live for sure by me as we have several songs with organ type songs in them. The vibrato sound is as good as the two tremolo sounds but i have not used it in a performance yet. It will Ben there too when I need that vintage sound. In fact, if you had two of these pedals you could layer the vibrato and tremolo effects for a very cool sound. All in all. I love it and it will find a place on my pedal board.

Good pedal, great when paired with reverb
This pedal delivers a good variety of usuable sounds out of the box, and I would say it's worth it on its own. It's an even better value if you have other pedals to pair it with, ideally reverb and delay as these really help out some of the sounds that would otherwise be unusable were the pedal just on its own. The text on it is rather hard to read as the pedal itself is tiny and they printed it with dark red on black. It's a little annoying when trying to change on the fly but nothing that detracts from it too much. I dig the light up knobs, gives it a cool unique look when on. Definitely something I'll be holding on to for a good while, lots of interesting stuff to play around with here.

The 5th Dimension is small, dark, and beautiful
The Sonicake 5th Dimension is a conjuring of souls deep from the abyss. Ok, maybe it's not that dramatic, but it is a pedal that combines a ton of time-based effects. It really helps add spaciousness to the guitar tone and allows one to express emotions effortlessly. What I love about the 5th Dimension is that it offers 11 settings in a simple, easy to use format. I wasn't sure how many settings I’d use or why I would want them all in one pedal, but it turns out to be the perfect form factor for me. I'm not one to use time-based effects all that much, and thus my knowledge of those effects are limited. This pedal allows me to choose which effect is right for the riff without having to click all over a pedalboard or have cables daisy-chaining everything together. Works for me! As for the tone, there are quite a few useful settings. Below I listed some tones I thought the pedal emulated well. Any pedal that can give me those, let alone altogether, wins out. That being said, there are two settings I find completely useless (Cryin’ Bot and Lofi). I wish Sonicake would swap these with a Reverb and Delay, but I can’t have my cake and eat it too. Each effect does require different settings to dial in, so switching from one effect to the next doesn’t always yield the best result initially. Lastly, my pedal did get warm to the touch after playing for an hour or so. Nothing to worry about, so long as it doesn’t affect durability & longevity. All in all, a very useful pedal at a phenomenal price that I would highly recommend. None of the effects sound good
I can only describe this product in unflattering terms. This is due to the manufacturer, however, the seller is still responsible for selling a poor product. Not one of the effects are implemented properly. In many cases the volume is too far off of what is appropriate, usually too low to be brought back up with the mix control which is really a volume control. Some of the effects are just bad/useless, i.e. LOFI. Cry'n Bot should be triggered. In many cases the modulations are too far off a proper center frequency so as one turns up the depth control, the lower strings are barely affected. Since this is digital and probably as a programmed DSP, there is no excuse for this. I will probably return this as I was expecting a much better product. On a positive note, the build quality seems pretty good.

Ok sounds, impossible to dial in on the fly
The big is extremely versatile, but dialing in good sounds in each of the effects requires a lot of tweaking on the knobs. This becomes a real problem when, say, you want to move from the chorus sound to the auto-wah, where the settings for each will be vastly different. On top of that, I have no idea why the makers decided to make the text for the effect types red text on a black background. It makes it nearly impossible to pick a effect type without putting your face 2 feet away from the pedal. You can forget about being able to read anything in a low-light situation. That means that in any meaningful jam or live situation, this pedal can only be used on one good effect that you already have dialed in. More on the effects: the auto-wah sound is great, one of the two chorus sounds is good. Those two effects can be at almost any setting and sound decent to good. The rest of the effects are really sensitive, with an almost guaranteed garbage sound if you pick them using settings dialed in for another effect. I really wanted to use the flanger effect, with roaring "jet-engine" like sounds, but the oscillation frequency is really hard to dial in well, as the sweet spot is somewhere around 8 o-clock, with a little bit cc-wise being basically no oscillation, and a little bit clock-wise being really fast oscillations. I wanted to like this pedal so much, but honestly, it's not *that* useful. It's functionally just one pedal in a live scenario. I suppose one could just get so much practice dialing in the settings that you could memorize your way around it, but with so many dials to memorize, it doesn't seem worth the effort. I think it could potentially work ok for recording purposes, but if you're recording, size and versatility isn't really a problem in the studio, so you might as well use an actual flanger/chorus/phaser/whatever pedal.

Sonicake 5th Dimension Digital Modulation Pedal Packs a Lot in a Small Package!
Sonicake 5th Dimension Modulation Pedal is a well built, well thought out and very intuitive multi-pedal. Controls are super easy. The top 3 knobs are for Effect level, (relative to your guitar signal) Effect Speed, and Effect Depth or the intensity of each effect. At the bottom of the pedal is the on-off switch which also functions as a Tap Tempo when you hold it down. In the middle is the dial which you select any of 11 different modulation effects, most of which sound excellent. The reason I like this pedal is that like many guitarists, most of what I play uses reverb, echo, and overdrive to get my basic sound. Modulation effects of various kinds are nice to add depending on the song, though I could get through a gig without using any modulation effects. So it is great to have everything I might want to use in 1 small pedal. There is an instruction card that comes with the pedal that details what each of the 11 modulation options are. I really like the sound of the Phase Shifter, both Choruses, Tremolos, Rotary Vibe and Blue Vibe. I was surprised at how good they sound. I'm not a Flanger guy, but the Flanger sounds are fine. The Auto-Wah is OK, and the Lofi setting could be useful for more experimental music. The pedal seems very solid and the controls have a nice feel to them. The top 3 controls light up nicely. It also came with a nice patch cord, which I find I never have enough of. All in all, if you are looking for a small pedal that can handle most if not all of your Modulation needs, this one is worth checking out!

Great Product
I already own the SONICAKE HAMMER. Totally happy with it and love having four different effects in such a small, well-constructed unit and the ability to use all effects simultaneously. The Delay, Chorus, and Boost are first-rate; the distortion is also excellent; just not my Cup-of-Tea. With these things in mind, I unhesitatingly ordered the SONICAKE 5th DIMENSION Digital Modulation. It arrived quickly and I immediately put it through its paces. What a wonderful surprise! The effects are astounding; especially, the Phase 101 and Liquid Trem. It is quiet; built to last a lifetime; user-friendly; has no-glare lights; and is compact. It complements my SONICAKE HAMMER beautifully. One small hiccup: it has a slight volume loss when the On Switch is activated---on all effects. I first tried plugging directly into my guitar amp; then, 5th DIMENSION to HAMMER, to amp; then HAMMER, 5th Dimension and into amp. All hookups experienced the same volume loss. This does not detract from my love of the unit and highly recommend it to others. I play Charity Events and these effects make me shine. Well done SONICAKE!

Consigliatissimo
