Coolaroo Exterior Roller Shade, Cordless Roller Shade with 90% UV Protection, No Valance, (8' W X 6' L), Mocha

In my opinion these are the best cordless shades on the market. I have been waiting and searching for some top quality and attractive shades for more than 2 years on Wayfair and the internet now and I always end back up with these as my number 1 choice. I have two 96" x 72" and one 48" x 72" to create an enclosed private area on my upstairs backyard patio. What's even better is the price. These three would have cost me over $350 in Mocha elsewhere. Timing is everything and I purchased all three of them on Amazon Prime for $124.22! You instantly feel cooler once they are rolled down and secured with the included tie downs. Installation was a breeze. They also block out the sun and UV rays that comes through an upstairs 8' window on the patio. As an unexpected bonus to us the shades have drastically reduced the heat that comes through that window. They are pretty thick but you can still see right through them and feel the wind coming through them. I also called Coolaroo to have them verify the warranty. They were very friendly and helpful. Customer service assured me that the workmanship of the material and the material in general is covered with a 3 year warranty. If you need other replacement parts that pertain to the mechanics of the product they are available for purchase at a reasonable price when and if needed. I make on average 82 Prime purchase from Prime every year and have saved tons of money and no I am not an employee of Amazon or know anyone that is an employee. Bottom line is you cannot go wrong with these roller shades if you purchase them through Amazon Prime. The savings on this purchase alone for me is worth > 2 years of Prime subscription.

I absolutely love the Coolaroo Exterior Roller Shades! I ordered them in the Mocha color, and it’s perfect for our space. They do a fantastic job blocking the sun and keeping our back porch cool and comfortable. The quality is excellent, the instructions are good, the installation is easy, and they look great. We’re so happy with them that we’re already planning to buy two more soon!

These were the gold box item one day, and I picked up two to put in front of my garage door. That metal garage door faces evening sun, and in 100oF weather, is a radiating oven of nasty in the evenings, rendering my workshop (er, garage) rather unpleasant to work in. Earlier this year, I spent quite a bit of money, and even more sweat, insulating and dry-walling the garage. So this metal garage door oven was even more irksome. These two shades made an enormous difference and really exceeded my expectations in terms of the difference it made for the enjoyment of my garage. The hold downs are a nice inclusion, and have bumped up the rating to 5 instead of 4. Many companies try to sell you these things as add-ons, and that's just annoying. So kudos to Coolaroo for including them. Because I have two of these in tandem, I had to build a small, weighted board shaped a bit like an L, to which I screwed in the hold-down hardware. I use two 5lb weights on top of the flat/bottom portion of the L to keep the wind from blowing it around. At the far ends of the the two shades, I tie off at adjacent wooden gates or fences. I still retract them sometimes, but it's really nice to get some breeze in the evenings, without everybody being able to see what I have in my garage. (We're kind of "hood-adjacent".) You can see well enough outside to see if someone were approaching, but I don't think they can see inside nearly as well until they get up close. That's at least true for the mocha color that I got. I hung them form the eaves of the one-story roof, and fully extended, they give my woodworking mascot (dog) 2-3 feet of clearance to walk under without having to crawl. I can honestly say this was probably the best money I've spent in the last 3 months.

These are nice shades, good sun protection . They are easy to install unfortunately I should have read the fine print. The 8’ shade and railing are more like 8’4”, wider than expected. If it’s windy you need to cinch them down or they flap in the wind.

People and plants needed some sun relief from that serious Texas sun, and these were just what we were looking for. We purposefully choose the 6 ft long, as we didn't need them to go to the ground, and they are perfect for our purpose. We got 2, for either side of the patio, and it really helps keep us much cooler and out of that direct sun of the day. Very sturdy and we are very happy with this purchase. You can still see some light and shadows through it, but the dark color probably helps with that more than the lighter color options. We love it! Highly recommend!

We built an outdoor living space and needed to deal with the late afternoon sun. I was planning on hanging curtains and then I found these. Our contractor installed them inside the ceiling beam and you would never notice them, they blend right in. They appear well constructed and were easy to install. They roll up and down quite easily and can be rolled forward or backward. The winding wand can be stored easily out of the way because it is not a part of the shade but a completely separate tool. We bought two of the 8w x 6l. The shades have rings on the ends of the bar that can be attached to bungees (included) so that you can secure the shade when it is extended and prevent it from blowing in the wind. We only have a post on end of one of the shades so I have a heavy decorative lantern that we attach the shade to and it works like a charm. We are very very happy with these but I will say that up close they are a little plasticy looking and from the sun side (which we rarely see as we are inside in the shade) is very shiny and sparkly. I would prefer that it have a more natural look but we are super happy with these shades.

Aug '23- Still rolls no probs. Fabric not torn, still good. Replaced the bungees (harbor freight) once. Highly recommend Jun '17- We ordered 1 to keep the sun from hitting our door in the evening, in Texas. It worked so well we ordered a 2nd one. These are built good and the fabric is very nice, seems like it will hold up for a few years of the TX sun. If I remember I'll report back in 30 mos. The TX sun will crush whatever UV-resistant product there is so it will be interesting later. As for installation, very easy for a handyman. Follow the instructions, measure twice, drill once and it's installed nicely. We even adjusted the mounts to be used in a top mount, as opposed to a wall mount (they configuration they're shipped in) It worked well and mounted by measuring and drilling some pilot holes then screwing the brackets in, aligning the shade and snapping it in. The roller action to extend and retract is smooth and easy. You could spend less at the big box stores for the type that roll up/down with strings, I'm glad we didn't and I would suggest that if you're looking, for about $25 more this is far superior, get it. It's worth it.

These shades are great! We have eight of them around our deck. It's a great way to keep the rain and snow out. We close them and turn on the patio heaters and we can enjoy our deck in the winter months too. We have lots of wind and cold weather and hot in the summer and the haven't faded and have held up great!

Me gustó mucho. No es impermeable porque es una tela calada parecida al de los costales y la palanca me parece muy corta, pero se ve muy linda y le da un toque rústico a mi terraza.

je l'adore car elle me coupe du soleil

works and looks great, but I wished I had ordered a bigger size. quality and color is great and easy to install.

Material de buena calidad....solo una observacion...el manual de instalacion no es muiy amigable...tendras que echar de tus dotes de ingenio para lograrlo...

Well made, easy to install , only wish there was a way to secure the handle from blowing around. I ended up using a command broom holder from 3m, it lets a little light in and much cooler inside.
