Long battery life, cheap and fun.
I purchased almost a year ago for my motorcycle helmet and so far, has worked like a charm. The installation was easy; pairing was simple and I have had no issues with it coming off or detaching, even at highway speeds. Have rode this in mild rain and is still perfectly working. It fits most standard motorcycle helmets so I would not worry about the size or worry about it being too bulky. I mainly use this to listen to music while riding, works very well and if equipped with a nice quiet helmet you will have no issue listening to your music. Battery life last exceptionally long, only have had to recharge a handful of times since purchasing.

Outstanding overall, I could not be more positive. And at high speeds with half helmets.
FODSPORTS Motorcycle Bluetooth Intercom, M1S Pro 2000m This will be the most positive review I have ever left for a product, technology, or otherwise. It is a long review where I try to give the level of detail I want before setting off on a remote motorcycle adventure relying on a piece of tech. For those that don't like the long-form review – this device exceeded my expectations, allowing a friend and me to spend two days wandering the Everglades, sometimes at high speeds, with fantastic communication quality (with half helmets!). But the long review will talk about some caveats and one impactful quality problem. But overall, this will be a ravingly positive review. I rode a great deal 40 years ago, but in the last 40 years, I have only ridden a dirt bike a few times. So I spent a day getting my learner's permit and hours with my friend in his housing development at slow speed, getting used to his bike. (This is to set expectations on what kind of a biker I am, a "new-old" newbie). Although I was a big tech consumer until I bought this device, I had never entertained the idea of motorcycle comms. We spent half a day riding all around West Palm, Florida, and then the entirety of the 2nd day riding around Lake Okeechobee. On day 1, I could not have been more thrilled with the quality of voice communications. We purchased them on a whim (after an extensive review of comments) and after seeing the Sena half helmet device that was almost 1.5x as much (each!). My immediate Day 1 summary: I was shocked I could ride a motorcycle and converse casually with my friend. And this was with half helmets! On day 1, speeds rarely exceeded 40 mph but hit 50 mph on occasion. And as most of you probably know, here is the most critical variable – the motorcycle windshield. From the picture, you can see we had windshields. We are both tall, and I was looking over my windshield a bit too much, meaning I had air hitting my helmet and the top part of my face. I found myself slouching to avoid it, but my point is that I did not have a perfect shield and had wind jostling around my face. Yes, that windshield made a difference, but I cannot define how much. I know I could hear my friend at 75mph! Not perfect, but well enough to communicate. Sometimes, I had to yell, MOVE YOUR MIC CLOSE TO YOUR MOUTH, REPEAT, or SAY AGAIN, but we could communicate. ( I feel strongly this would not have been possible at 75mph with no windshield, but again, my windshield was not a perfect shield due to my height.) Also, when trucks would come by at 75mph from the opposite direction (scary AF!) and the wind from them would slam me (even on an 1100), I could still hear him talking. The noise canceling was excellent as I could hear the wind noise from his mic constantly, but it was never loud and irritating to the point I wanted to turn off the device. Often, noise canceling in electronics will work on a walkie-talkie, and then when noise breaks through the cancel feature, it is LOUD! This never happened with this device as background noise was constant past 40mph, but consistently just low background noise. It is important to note (if you can tell in the picture) that we had half helmets. And my friend had a helmet with thin straps. We used a 3rd party ear speaker holder that was 100% required to make the Fodsports intercom work with a half helmet. And this ear speaker holder system was not even supposed to work with his strap system, but it did. But the roughly $12 the 3rd party speaker holder cost still had us well under 50% of the price of a Sena half helmet intercom system. And now the unfortunate problem in the midst of using this fantastic device. On day 1 we stopped to eat and shut off our Fodsports intercoms. My friend's device would not turn back on, no matter what. And it WAS charged before we turned it off, we checked (I am anal about always knowing where my electronics are charged). The riding was TOO good to stop so we spent another 3 hours kicking around some amazing places in West Palm. But it was so different riding without comms. I had quickly grown used to being able to talk with him. The "communication-free" ride was fun, but it was like we were riding 'together apart.' I had already grown addicted to motorcycle comms and don't want to ever go back. That night, I took both devices and charged them – all night. In the morning, I checked, and they were both fully charged and we got geared up, and the devices synced, and when we got on the bikes, his died *dammit!*. So, on a whim, we ran a cell phone battery charger to his device, and it worked! And thank you, Fodsports. Often less expensive electronic devices cannot charge and work at the same time, but this one did ALL DAY LONG (11 hours!). So, other than an extended cable routing to the side of the intercom on his helmet, it worked perfectly (well, not as perfectly as if it held a charge!). Again, I cannot say enough good things about this Fodsports intercom system!!!! The best of both worlds is that I could ride with a friend and have casual and random conversations throughout the day. I know many of you are familiar with motorcycle comms, but coming back after 40 years, this is just magic—the best kind of magic - the joy of the ride and brotherhood in conversation. ** Update. Several months later, I bought a 2nd one to use with my son when we ride our bikes (pedal bikes). He is 16 and had all but quit riding with me as he said it was boring. But now, with comms the entire ride, he is riding with me again as he just wants to talk the whole ride. Thank you again FodSports! Ironically, when I was with my friend on motorcycles, we had half helmets, and now my son and I have full-faced MTB helmets when we ride our bikes 😊. So there is nothing to report there as this device does well in a full-faced helmet, as you can put the mic behind the mouth guard area. But again, read above about high-speed motorcycle riding with half-helmets. The Fodsports communication at high speed was not perfect, but darned good! *** Additional. I have used the Fodsports on multiple all-day solo gravel bike rides. Listening to podcasts or taking calls via a Bluetooth connection to my Android phone is flawless. This device continues to deliver!

Absolutely worth the money. Buying another set.
A friend and I talked about trying a com system for awhile, but did not want to spend a bunch of money on something we were not sure we would like. Based on the reviews, features, and price, we decided to pull the trigger on a 2-pack of the M1S systems and split the cost. Long story short, they are great. Being able to easily communicate with each other changes the whole 'group' riding experience for the better. I have mine mounted in a LS2 Citation helmet, and my friend has his in a Biltwell Lane Splitter. He used the clip that clamps around the shell, and I used the supplied 2-sided tape, since the clip interfered with my neck curtain. Neither of us have had a problem with the units or attachment points coming loose. Battery life is plenty sufficient for a full day's ride. Noise cancelling is good enough that we can take calls or intercom up to around 50-ish MPH. The only complaint I really have is that I can hear conversations much better than I can hear my music. My friend however has no complaints. We both have Samsung Galaxy S10 phones. Perhaps the difference is speaker position in the helmets?? Either way, the Fodsports M1S system provides a very good value for the money spent. I'm ordering another for my girlfriend to try. UPDATE, May 2022: Following our successful experiment with Fodsports system, my friend and I have recently upgraded to the Cardo PackTalk Blacks. The Dynamic Mesh and natural voice communication, along with the 'Hey Cardo' voice controls make them a worthwhile upgrade. The volume is not much louder, but the fidelity is notably better. Having the speakers positioned closer to my ears with the Cardo (they include velcro spacer pads) also help significantly to cut down on the volume loss at higher speed. With all that said, for folks on a tight budget, I'd still have no problem recommending the M1S. Cardos they are not, but still the value is very good.

Easy to use, good sound quality.
Update 2024: still 5 stars, been using them 3 years and still work great. Now running them sometimes for off road riding, it's nice to be able to communicate with riders in my group without having to stop and shut off engines. We've had 4 or 5 all connected at once, they work fine. Customer service very good also. I had an issue where one unit got damaged and they handled it as well as you could ask for. I suggested them to a friend for him and his son to use, he just ordered 2. These intercoms are very impressive for the price. I bought the two pack and I like them a lot so far. I installed in my old helmet (Bell Star 2010) and my new Shoei RF-SR. Both installations were fairly simple. The Bell required installing the base with VHB tape due to the shape of the helmet near the bottom. The Shoei works fine with the included steel tension clip that slides between the shell and lining of the helmet. I initially had problems getting volume loud enough since I wear earplugs when I ride. I think part of it was the Bell Star, it has a lot of vents and isn't known as a quiet helmet. I switched to the Shoei which helped somewhat, and I also switched to Alpine MotoSafe earplugs. This combination works pretty well. I find these intercoms easy to use and am quite impressed with them. Blutooth pairing to my phone and to each other is fairly simple. I'm able to talk to my passenger easily. When we're done talking I just hit the button once and the intercom mode ends and the music resumes if I had it playing previously. I'm able to make calls using voice control with my phone. The person on the other end of the call hears very little noise, sometimes they don't even realize I'm on a motorcycle. It's better sound than the blutooth mic in my car. I haven't tried these bike-to-bike yet, but I was able to talk to my son while he was riding around in a big parking lot. I was standing and I kept my helmet on so I could coach him while he was practicing, it worked great. We stayed within about 150 yards so I can't comment on longer distances yet. Customer support seems very good on these. I contacted them about insufficient volume. After suggesting some things, they thought it might be a faulty speaker harness so they sent me a replacement. I don't think that was the problem, it was more of a bike/helmet noise issue, but they definitely tried to help. I rode my streetbike (FZ1 Yamaha) about 3-4 hours today. Played music almost the whole time and had 3 phone calls totaling about 10minutes. When I got home I pushed the two volume buttons to check battery level- it was still over 90%. If the M1S Pro units last a few years then I'd say they were well worth the cost.

ACTUAL REVIEW
I have 4 units. Have used them for single, two, three, and four person coms. Have the same pros and cons across them. HAD THEM FOR 2 YEARS WAIT TILL THE SALE COMES. YOU GET 2 for 90$. THEY AINT WORTH 160 PROS 1. Battery life is good and never really had to charge. They have probably 6+ hours of life before needing a charge and I never got them low enough to warn for charging 2. Easy connectivity for 1 or 2 people. Super simple to get it working and has a decent range 3. Very simple setup and has a lot of configurations you can do for your setup CONS 1. Anything more than 2 people using these, connectivity is a nightmare. It never tells you if your A B C or D rider so then you have to figure it out and if you click enough wrong buttons ur stuck in connecting limbo. A simple “A rider” “B rider” would have made a hell of a difference 2. The volume is awful. All my quads are stock and going over 15mph will require you to max the volume and still struggle to hear. 3. The earphone quality is the same as a temu speaker. I don’t expect the greatest speakers at this price but after 3 months of riding, one side died and the other 3 units just sounds bad. 4. The included mic is worthless. The second you get any wind or it’s too close to your mouth, it won’t pick up anything. Then I also can’t understand anyone because it’s poor quality Then to top of it all, issue 2, 3, and 4 piggyback off each other. No volume = maxing the volume = poor quality output = screaming for communication = mic not picking up voice = more screaming = tossing these across the yard. For single and two person rider, these are fine for beginner stuff. Anything more, just try something else.

Excellent Product
This product FAR exceeded my expectation. I was nervous about this purchase because of the negative reviews, but found this product to be an excellent purchase and well worth the money. The following regarding "sound quality" is based on using an HJC IS17 Helmet: The sound quality is above average for music, although not perfect. They are, after all, small speakers. When not moving, I was extremely impressed with the quality of the sound considering their size. Once moving over about 30 ~ 40, any bass response they had starts to drop out due to wind noise (my HJC is a very noisy helmet - this situation might be different with a better helmet). Although, the music is still listenable up to highway speeds in the HJC. I don't know if this is a microphone issue or a speaker issue, but the sound quality while having a conversation with another rider is not as good as it is for music. Once above about 55 to 60 mph on a Kawasaki Concours, I cannot hold an understandable conversation with another rider; it is not loud enough AND it is muffled. I do not seem to have the same issue with music - the speakers are always clear and they get quite loud. Personally, I think the microphone is so sensitive that the person talking "blows out" the sound, because people tend to talk louder when the wind noise is loud (just a thought). But overall, the mic does exceedingly well with noise cancellation. The person on the receiving end of a phone call at 40 ~ 50 mph cannot really tell I am on a motorcycle; I have no experience with a phone call above that speed at the time of this review. Connection: I use these to have a conversation with my passenger only - no bike to bike. So my review is only for that scenario. I had ZERO connection issues between the units and from the units to my iPhone. The two units connect to each other with the push of a button. And each unit pairs with an iPhone with the push of a button. I have never had any issues with a lost connection between the two units or the iPhones they are connected to. Battery: I have gone on at least 4 rides where I have had them turned on for at least 4 to 6 hours per ride, and the battery is STILL above 50% according to the units. Sometimes I was listening to music, other times they were on standby for conversation with my rider - so it was mixed use. Battery life is excellent. Mounting on my HJC IS17 was simple and easy. I am very happy with this purchase. Hopefully, with a quieter helmet, these would be even better.

Great and sturdy and plenty of volume.
I can say that this Headset takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I had an incident where the helmet fell of my bike at about 60mph Don't ask). The headset was split open and just looked completely ruined. I was bummed. I got home, snapped it back together and it still works flawlessly. As far as sound quality, if you are claiming that this headset is not loud enough, it's because the speakers are not placed directly over your ears in the helmet. I had the same problem at first. I ride an R6 with a sprocket upgrade and a slip on so at highway speed I'm turning about 7000 rpm's. Its not quiet. I notched out a small but of foam in the helmet to move the speakers eve so slightly closer to being over my ear canal and it was like night and day. At 80mph, I can hear it just fine. If you are expecting to get bass like a car with a big subwoofer, its not going to happen, but for the price, this thing is well worth the money. I pair it with my passengers helmet which has a FreedConn headset. It pairs instantly and works like a charm. Update: 8/5/2024. I've been using this headset on a daily basis for a few years now. I was in a bad rain storm a few days ago. I'm talking a heavy duty storm. It was enough water to penetrate all of my rain gear. The type where tree limbs and debris are blowing onto the road abs everything flossed in a matter of minutes. Anyway, this wonderful headset finally gave out on me. I think. It's still drying out, with all If that said, it worked great. Especially for the price. Just make sure you line the speakers up with your ear holes. If it's too quiet on full vole, when cruising, eother you have hearing problems or the speakers are t in the optimal spot inside your helmet. In fact sometimes I have to turn it down because it's too loud. The one negative thing I'd have to say, and honestly this is a deal breaker for me is the charging port is micro USB. I won't buy anything that doesn't use a USB-C port anymore. The micro usb ports are just too fragile and eventually end up getting messed up. Also because of the way this one is designed, 99% of cables won't plug in to it. There's a small surround around the port and it's too small for most cables and prevents you from being s as bike to plug it in. I think I'm had to file down at least 5-6 charging cable ends at this point just to charge it. With that said, if you're organized and can keep track of the original cable, youre good to go. So now I have a decision to make. To buy this sane unit agai, or try something else. I often wonder just how much better the sound quality is on one of the $300 units I just don't have $300 to spend on one to try it out. :( Btw I used mine while riding a '01 Yamaha R6 with a Yoshimura slip on, just to give you an idea of what level of sound the headset needs to overcome. Ooh I wish it had noise cancelling to limit the drone on on the hwy at 75mph.

Sound lacked bass. Not so comfortable to ears.
The sound lacked bass. Flat. I feel pain in my ears after an hour of riding. The installation of the unit into the holder require finesse. It doesn't fit nicely. Otherwise it's value. Pairing no issue.
