Seeking activities to share with my 7-year-old during the 2020 lockdown, I have tried probably every gel pen available on the market: Sakura Gelly Roll, G2, Ink Joy, Slicci, Energel, Sparkle Pop, Zebra, Office Goods, Fiskars, ColorIt, Aen Art, Color Technik, Reaeon, Super Doodle, Crayola, Xuixua, etc. If you want to color with gel pens, Chromatek is the set to buy.Anyone who uses gel pens regularly has probably discovered that all of the large sets have nearly identical barrels, pigments, ink cartridges, 0.8-1.0 mm bold tips, and performance - they're all manufactured in the same region and probably the same factories in China. There are a few variable features competing distributors can choose from: the packaging, which specific colors to include, inclusion of a comfort grip and/or color codes on the barrel or cap, and whether refill packs are sold with the set and sold separately. The other variable which affects each brand is how long the pens are stored and whether they're stored and shipped properly. Gel ink is water-based and can dry out or degrade over time. Gel ink cartridges are sensitive to impacts like dropping and can develop air bubbles - if there are air bubbles in the ink cartridge, the pen won't work.There are a few higher-end gel pen sets available, such as Pentel Sparkle Pop and Gelly Roll, which have larger-capacity ink cartridges and tighter quality control than the large gel pen sets but the color selection is very limited with these brands. The best choices I've found for coloring are the packs of 50+ colors. These all have apparently identical housing and ink cartridges. Brands with refills included or zipper pen cases are marked up accordingly, but the performance of the pens tends to be the same: the ink will run out more quickly than markers or other coloring media, so pens without separate refill packs aren't worth it. Improperly stored pens will skip or fail to start - tapping the pen tip can help, and typically one or two pens need to be tapped in a set, but if more than a few pens don't start, the set is probably dried out. Pens with "neon" shades, particularly light greens and yellows, are often scratchier or don't work - there's something about inks made with these pigments which prevent them from flowing well. Pens sets which include a lot of these colors tend to yield a frustrating coloring experience.Several of the sets I've purchased were sent back because too many pens simply didn't work. The Chromatek set is the only one I've bought in which every single pen worked beautifully right out of the package. The colors selected are vivid and beautiful, and the ink flows freely. A refill set is included with the pens, and additional refills are available separately. The packaging is very functional and affordable, and actually works better than higher-end pen cases. As with every one of these pen sets, a few pens have plastic barrel and cap colors which don't match the ink exactly. With a clear plastic package and clear barrels, this isn't a problem - you just need to train your eye to look at the ink cartridge rather than the plastic barrel to choose your color. You can also easily make and insert a swatch chart right inside the packaging (pictured above).Chromatek nails it on all the optional features important to a set of gel pens: beautiful vibrant colors, pens that work right out of the package, reasonably priced with functional packaging, comfort grips and color codes on the barrel, and refills available separately and included with the set. These are the pens to buy.

I love these glitter pens so much. I previously only had the pack with 30 colors and was happy with them. When I flipped open this new pack with 50 colors, my eyes couldn't believe how many pens there were. There are so many colors, and the artist in me loves the variety.It's a treat to be able to shade and create gradients more easily with this larger pack. This size seems to have added to what you get in the smaller pack by adding more neutral colors, pastels, and neon colors sprinkled throughout the expanded color ranges. They are all neatly organized in a rainbow in the easy to carry reusable packaging.I now do all of my homemade greeting cards with these, from writing words to drawing. The ink flows so well from these pens, and I love not worrying about running out of ink because the set comes with refills. It's also fun to be able to use these on any color paper, including black. I'm a fashion designer, and I do a lot of my textile drawings and fashion sketches with these too because the evident shimmer effect these create in the vibrant colors is gorgeous.I don't do this with many products, but my friends and family know how much I love these because I love raving about how effortlessly, beautiful they make my art.I highly recommend these pens to any artist, adult or child, who loves glitter. These are so much better than most of the glitter pens that were popular in the early 2000s. These would be a great gift. Paying a little bit more to get a larger pack with more colors is still a great value, especially for more professional artists

*Please Read*If you are an adult coloring enthusiast, I do suggest trying this set. I have been coloring , wafting from markers, colored pencils, now I am trying all the major gel pen manufacturers. I do prefer my pens to have a comfort grip. This set does and that's a perk. I also when buying glitter pens like the glitter to not wear off or become much less apparent when dry. This set excels in this factor. Of all the glitter sets I own or have tried ( 7 brands in the last 6 months) Chromatek has,I believe, the best glitter appearance both wet and dry. I also started comparing pictures I had colored using all one brand after a week and yes a number of brands the glitter wore or flaked off. Chromatek the glitter did not as long as the picture did not under go any distress or abundant handling. I bring this factor up as I have really gotten into coloring notecards, postcards, and greeting cards. On the card stock especially a semi glossy card stock the brand of gel pen that is used will make or break the entire progect. :( I know from experience. This is one of the best brands to use for card crafts. Ok all that said. I actually could illiterate even more positive factors regarding this brand but I will list the really only two negative factors I could find. Yes my first set of this brand I didn't like that a few of the pens didn't flow well. Although Amazon replaced the set quickly and the second set worked wonderfully. Lastly the brand flows so well that yes it goes through refills quickly. Lol what to do? Complain and exchange problem pens or be forced to buy more refills because the pens color wonderfully but a tad expensive?

I like the Colors alot and granted they come with refills, but the amount of ink in each pen varied, as you can see some came with almost twice the ink as others. That's my only issue, only because I've ordered other gel pens and this is the first set I've gotten that all the pens have a different amount of ink. Usually they have close to the same amount, or maybe 1 or 2 may have a noticeable difference. Not really a complaint because all the refills do have a good amount of ink that's equall. Honestly I still would order them again. They did come with the shades I wanted and will use. If I could rate them at 4 1/2 stars I would

Over the past few years, I have bought and used probably 6 or 7 different brands of Gel Pens. I first bought the Chromotek 30 plus 30 refills a couple months ago. Due to circumstances, I am coloring quite a bit more than usual, so when I went to buy them again, I was delighted to see that the 50 pack with 50 refills was available. These pens arrived quickly, have wonderful vivid colors and a great smooth flow, better than many pens at higher prices. Oh yeah. Great value! I will continue to use these pens as they satisfy just about every criteria I have for gel pens. The only drawback is that there is no real true red, but I find this seems to be something not unique to only one brand of pens. Quite satisfactory!! Excellent value!!!

I had good experiences with this brands brush tip water color markers so I had high hopes for these. Unfortunately they are just not good for colorists. Which is unfortunate. The main problem with this set is the fact that lay down is sort of patching. The ink flow is not good enough to flood the are you are coloring like a Sakura Jellyroll or a Pentel Sparklepop. The pen leaves railroad tracks when coloring. What I mean by this is: when you draw a line there is a high amount of pigment on both sides of the line but where the ball is the pigment is thinner. This produces a noticeable texture when you are coloring.This is unfortunate because these pen offer a brilliant feature in that they are set in color groups. So if you see a color you will find a light, medium and dark in that same color. There are even greys. I am really disappointed by this.There are a couple of other issues that I saw but are fairly minor:- The color numbers are only on the actual ink refill which makes them incredibly hard to read to that point that I had to unscrew some of them to read them and even then I had to guess at the number.- The ink fill was inconsistent from pen to pen. The only reason I noticed was because one of the pens was down about half an inch from the others. So I started looking and sure enough, others was filled inconsistently. Oddly enough, the refills that came with the set were fine which leads me to believe that perhaps someone had used my set.- Some of the colors looked different on initial application but pretty much became interchangeable when left to dry for a couple of days in my closed swatch book.I know this review is mostly negative but this is from the perspective of a colorist.These pens are not completely terrible which is why my score is 3 stars. I think they would be great for kids or for journaling. They write fairly smoothly aside from that railroading thing. The glitter is sparkly but not in your face OMG glitter kind of way. It is a fine milled glitter which makes it shimmery and there is a lot of it.I really just wish the laydown was smoother.

I really like these gel pens! The colors are bright and clear. I truly think that I will use every color. I have several sets of gel pens and usually I use about half of them. I have pens that I have never used and quite frankly I don't even know what color they are.I am very excited that these pens are numbered!!! I have been trying to number the pens and markers that I have, so that I can keep track of the colors I use on a particular project. Numbering them is difficult and time consuming. It is great to have a company go the extra step for their customers. It will be really nice to be able to jot down a number of a pen I am using if I need to stop in the middle of a project. In the past I have gone back to a project and used the wrong pen because I was using three greens, and I didn't choose the right one. Then I end up tossing 3+ hours of work.I use my art supplies for many different projects on many surfaces and often use the gel pens, especially the glitter gel pens, as the finishing touch. I believe the gel ink and glitter both help to draw attention to the areas they are used!

I was too late to cancel the order after I saw an offer of another brand for gel pens. Happy to receive the Chromatek 50. They are all glitter, the pens have a good flow of the fluid and a good grip in the hand. I would buy them again!

My daughter loves to colour with gel markers, but usually finds them so frustrating as most of the time gel markers can be full but the ink doesn’t want to flow. These are awesome!!! She loves them and has been coloring so much. She says the ink flows wonderfully - plus they come with ink refills! Awesome price, wonderful quality.

Amazing glitter gel pens which flow really smoothly. Good variety of colours and love the fact you can get refills. My only pitfall with them is with the pens having a medium sized ball nib which makes the pen ink flow lovely and smooth, ink seems to use/go down quite quickly.Would deffinatly recommend and buy again however.On the little pricier side in my opinion buy the quality deffinatly shows! You won't be disappointed.
