Neoteck Headphones Amplifier, 16-300Ω - Best choice
Review of - Neoteck Headphones Amplifier, 16-300Ω This turned out to be perfect for my personal needs, I needed to amplify a speaker that I put under my pillow to listen to self help and positive reinforcement, subliminal scripts and audio books while I sleep. as the information is readily absorbed during those semi awake sleep moments that make a huge difference in sleep learning. I play them through an MP3 player (no phone) to play the audio files, but the sound from the headphones was not nearly loud enough through the MP3 player alone when the pillow was covering the speaker Also because the speaker is a single mono speaker, I was concerned and had to take a chance that the amplifier would output a mono sound, so I would not loose one side of the stereo output during listening. Good news it perfectly plaid the full left/right channel through the mono speaker was perfect for my intended use. So I after searching around, I found this neat compact amplifier that worked much better than anticipated! Battery lasts all night, in fact for this use it hardly drained the battery at all, taking only 10 mins to recharge it so only needed a quick top up for the next night. There is a also louder booster button as well as the volume control, which also made a lot of difference to the quality of sound and much richer listening from the audio books. It is very well made, metal construction and carries a good amount of weight for its size which is small and slim. not listened any music yet through headphones so I cannot speak of the quality of that side of things, however based on experience of many MP3 usage, I am confident it will sound great due to the dramatic raise in quality and volume from using the mp3 player without the boost of this amp provided. All in all I am very happy with the purchase and speed of delivery! Top quality product, I love to say things like " It's The Best Twenty quid I ever spent" when something delivers just what I need, and I will use very frequently, thus milking the joy! is what I can call personal good value for the money.

Great pre amp for a microphone
I use this as a pre amp for my microphone as a indoor cycle instructor. It works perfectly. I don't like sharing microphones so I decided to have my own. Before, the mic volume could not get as high as the music volume, so to hear the mic I had to have lower music volume. (I didn't do this as I just used the gym provided items until this arrived). But now I successfully used this item at a gym and the amp did exactly what I wanted. It at least doubled the mic volume meaning that the people in my class got really good quality audio.

Good value solution
Does what you would expect it to at a low cost. Some noise apparent at higher volume.

\\\\\\\\\eight sided fits in the hand better.
I use this with my large TV headphone output - I watch a lot of precode talkies with terrible sound quality and this pre amp works well in increasing the audio without amplifying the hiss. Also I can watch TV late without upsetting neigbours. I had one before - another make - which only lasted 2 years because the recharge socket broke off inside. This one uses the USB C type socket which seems stronger. The box is good it has chamfered sides making it more comfortable to hold and much stronger - and you need to hold it ready to turn down because ADDS come on at 3 times the volume of most old films - its absurd how low they transmit the sound on old stuff and some Cinemascope. I did find as others remark that you have to use the provuided coaxial 3.5mm connector as it seems differently wired to the usual ones - my old ones don't make any audio connection to this pre amp. I may get another one next month to make charging and recharging easier, but all in all for the money a very nice little device.

Great Little Headphone Amp - Used with Yamaha NP12 Piano
I originally purchased the eSync version but it arrived with a fault This Neoteck was the next on my list so got this instead. It was just a few pounds more than the eSynic one I needed it for my Yamaha NP12 piano as the sound through headphones is just too quiet I charged this up within 1.5 hours, the red charge light turns green once fully charged, and immediately tried it out It’s made a world of difference to my piano. I set the volume on the piano to about 3/4 and had the Neoteck on the ‘low gain’ setting and volume about 1/3 and it’s now nice and loud. If I turn it up further it hurts my ears it’s that powerful For the bargain price this is a great little amp and I’d totally recommend it

Suddenly I can hear B.J. Blazkowicz muttering sweet nothings to himself in Wolfenstein - bliss....
This was one of those impulse buys where I wasn’t sure if I needed it… but it looked clever, and I’m a sucker for clever. Turns out: it’s not just clever, it’s brilliant. Like finding out your toaster can also do your taxes. I’d just picked up a pair of bargain-bin headphones - decent enough, but for under a tenner, you’re not exactly starring in a Beats commercial. Bass? More like vague rumblings from the underworld. Especially noticeable on the PlayStation, where my PS4’s audio runs through a cable longer than a Tolkien trilogy. The sound drop was real. I’d been compensating by cranking the volume at the source, which is fine until you forget and switch on the telly the next day and it sounds like the apocalypse is kicking off in your living room. Enter: this little metal miracle. Charges via USB, fits in your palm, built like a tank, and - crucially - it makes everything sound like it’s supposed to. No more turning the dial to 11 and hoping for the best. Now, some folks online moan about a hum. I got that too when I plugged it straight into my long PS4 extension cable. But here’s the fix: plug your headphones directly into the cable first, then unplug and patch in the amp. It’s like grounding out the gremlins. After that? No hum. Just everything you're supposed to hear, crisp, clear, no distortion. The gain is fantastic. I rarely need to nudge the volume past a couple of notches and for gaming, it’s a revelation. Cheap sound systems like mine tend to mash dialogue, music, and FX into one chaotic soup - turn one channel down and you lose half the flavour. But with this amp? Suddenly I can hear B.J. Blazkowicz muttering sweet nothings to himself in Wolfenstein while the world explodes around him. Bliss... Look, I’m probably going deaf. This thing is basically a hearing aid for your headphones, and - unlike actual hearing aids - it doesn’t cost a fortune or make you look like you’ve just escaped from a cyberpunk nursing home. More expensive headphones might help short-term, but if your ears are on strike, you’re better off boosting the signal. And for twenty quid...? This is a cracking place to start.

Poor
Have had mine just under 2 years, it's decided to destroy itself. The charging port is loose and moving around, it no longer charges and emits a very loud constant beem noise over what I'm trying to watch or listen to . The unit is dead and am looking for a replacement and it won't be this one, no info on guarantee or who to contact, so would not recommend.

Yeah, you won't regret it.
Wired earbuds are my preferred listening mode for just about everything from music to work, to just watching videos. I just picked up some new high impedance IEMs and threw this in the cart on a whim. Holy cow! It felt like I was on a magic carpet singing "a whole new world" duo with Aladdin himself. Total game changer. The gain switch is awesome for lower listening volumes, really gives the sound some punch behind it, but for higher (LOUD) listening volumes, the gain boost can 'muddy-up' the sound a bit if you're listening to bass-heavy music. Super clean sound at high volumes with the gain switch off, though. I cranked this unit for 3+ hours right out of the box before I even charged it. It's got a solid feel to it and I like how the volume knob is just a bit tight, so you can't just accidentally crank on it, volume changes need to be deliberate. The only thing I wish this had was bluetooth, because you otherwise need a janky usb.c-to-trrs adapter or a bluetooth adapter to plug into the input, paired to your phone. (Bt adapter dongle is under $20) I suppose there's probably some higher end DAC units that have bluetooth, but this thing is so awesome for the price, it's worth adding a cheapo BT dongle if you want to use it wirelessly with your phone. I had been using a cheapo bluetooth single-earbud for use with my phone, but it's really only good for podcasts & audio books, the sound quality is ok at best, and I refuse to spend three figures on BT earbuds just to listen to music. This package ended up being about $60-something for IEMs, this DAC (amp), and a $12 BT dongle, and I'm absolutely stoked about it. Top notch sound, this killer amp that seems like it will run all day, and a cheapo BT dongle with similar battery life. It's a do-it-all set up for work or play.
