Harney & Sons White Christmas White Tea, 30 Sachets in Tin

This is actually a very good tea. It smells rather like mint-chocolate, but the flavor is a little different and interesting. It is important, however, to follow the directions and not use water that is too hot, or steep for longer than 3 minutes or so. The first time I brewed it I treated it more like a black tea and was appalled by the bitterness, but made properly it has become one of my favorites. I just add a little cream and maybe a bit of sugar.

I’m a big-time Harding and sons consumer I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars every year. They are my favorite tea brand but I’ve never tried this tea and I usually get from the website but I decided to get from Amazon this time because they had a great deal running and this was just OK this flavor it wasn’t expired which is great, but it tasted off. I do love the flavor like the almond and the vanilla those are some of my favorite flavors and tea, so I’m not sure why I don’t like this. It was so highly rated on the website too.

I'm a die-hard green & black tea fan. I've never fallen in love with a white tea until I tried this great seasonal tea from Harney & Sons. I like it best when I heat my water almost to boiling & I let it brew for 3 minutes. I add just a tiny splash of agave (and I never sweeten any of my teas but this tea does taste best, to me, with just a little bit of agave). I do make sure to drink it hot since once it's cooled too much, it can turn slightly bitter. But I absolutely LOVE this tea--in fact, I ordered a 2nd tin to give to my mother-in-law and I decided to keep it for myself. I can drink this tea well into the night since it has minimal caffeine. All in all, I love the mix of spices--it's very refreshing & delicious. I plan to make sure to stock up on it before it sells out for the season. ;-)

I was so excited for this tea! All my favorites are from this brand, and I loved everything about the description of this tea. I ordered it, and excitedly opened it. It smelled TERRIBLE. I can't even describe it. Rotten almonds maybe? Like truly vile. I decided to try it out and try not to breathe it in, but have some tea. I brewed some for me and a friend (he also disliked the smell, though not as violently as I did). He immediately spit it out, as did I. He also seemed to have an almost allergic reaction to it. I think whatever almond product is in here went bad and turned into some kind of poison, because that's what it tasted like. Go for the amazing holiday blend. Skip this. It does not taste like almonds, vanillla, or chamomile. It tastes just...expired. I threw it out and the next day my whole house smelled terrible. I had to double bag it and take it outside.

The.paper envelope the 3 tins of tea were shipped in tore badly, and 1 of the 3 was badly dented. The tea taste wonderful. The product needs a different packaging.

I like White Tea in the evenings because it usually has a lower caffeine content and doesn't mess with my intermittent fasting. I've been trying different varieties and got this one as a Christmas present. I saw the mixed reviews but still wanted to try for myself. The smell is a lot stronger than the taste. I get the distinct smell of Tootsie roll fake chocolate. It doesn't taste like Tootsie rolls but it smells like them. I think the taste is fine and I will continue to drink it, but I wish it didn't have the fake "natural flavors". I wish someone would make just a nice spiced White Tea with real spices and not manufactured chemical "natural flavors". The last note is that every other white tea I own says to steep with less than boiling water for only 1-2 minutes max. They also always list White Teas as around 10mg caffeine. This tea says to use boiling water for 5 minutes and lists 40-50mg caffeine. That is crazy to me for a white tea and might be why people are hating on this - white tea gets super bitter when using boiling water or steeping too long. I did my normal 1 minute steep and found the tea to be light and pleasant, other than the somewhat strange aroma.

This tea had an unexpected effect. It relaxed me so much I almost slid off the couch. My friend had a work emergency that stressed her out, so I made her a cup. It relaxed her so much that she looked at me and asked, “What’s IN this?” That chamomile, white tea, vanilla and almond really put a damper on the nervous system! So, this is a new nighttime favorite. I wouldn’t drink it in the morning, but maybe it doesn’t affect everyone this way. I will note that the almond flavor is lost in this. Pity.
