This is a Fine Piece Of Equipment
I do a 4 Building Apartment Complex and it is sooooo Nice not fighting a 100 foot cord. Makita is one of the finest tools no mater what you but in there line of stuff. Yes they aren't cheep ( But what isn't ), but you get what you pay for. Battery life is not bad, it does pay to get one or two sets more on batteries if you run on high a lot. It has 3 settings and still picks up good on low. Its Super Light if you have a back problem. The best part it has saved me 2.0 hours easy doing the same job with 100 foot extension cords. It has the feature once you set speed when turning on & off it comes back to the set speed you desired. I have had many Makita Tools, ALL been exceptional in the field. Its the choice of the Professionals in my opinion. Can't forget the easy replacement bag system. I have other vacs ( Canistors ) that don't use a bag, but the bag system keeps your machine so clean and replacement bags are cheep. Jack !!

Good for commercial use
I bought this for use in a retail store. It works great on low carpet and bare tile. I would suggest buying a ton of replacement bags. They fill up quickly. If I could change one thing, it would be that they make this with a canister style collection unit instead of the bags.

Mixed bag
I recently purchased a large home for three generations to live together. With a single vacuum cleaner it was taking forever to vacuum 6,00 square feet over 3 floors. As a consequence, it was not getting done as often as it should. I looked at getting more normal vacuum cleaners or trying one of these cordless backpacks. The use these at work but I was unable to communicate with the Spanish speaking workers to see if they liked them. So I went out on a limb and got it. After nearly a year, I can now report on the device to tell you its a mixed bag. The good: It is ultra convenient. No cords, no dragging a canister up and down stairs, batteries last the time to do the whole house. The harness has enough adjustments to be quite comfortable. The bad: The suction is lack luster at best. (The review that indicated great suction must never have used a good vacuum). My other vacuum can suck your eye balls out. This can't even give you a welt. The connection of the floor attachment to the hose is pathetic. It is just a press fit that keeps popping off. At work I can see they used duck tape. I happen to have a 3D printer so printed a special clamp to hold it on. It has no beater bar in the floor attachment and hence it is not good on carpets. My house is mostly hard flooring so it is not a big issue. We pull out the "real" vacuum periodically to do a deep clean on the carpets. It is noisy. Having the noise right next to your ears means wearing ear plugs. Not a biggy, but annoying. Overall: I am still OK with the purchase for the ability to do a quick superficial clean every few days. It could never be a primary vacuum especially if you have carpets. At almost a thousand dollars it is greatly over priced for what you get. For that price, I would have wanted more attachments, a beater bar, and a clip on method for them.

Love it for stairs
Bought it to take care of stair and areas without socket access. It meets or exceeds the suction and battery life I was expecting.

Was purchased for someone else
We are not using this, we purchased for another person. We have not heard any complaints. They have used them in the past and love them

Value of batteries kills the sale
Parts of handle started breaking within weeks. Makita has replaced the parts once, will see how long these last. The batteries are how they get you, so expensive.
