Amazing blu ray player
I’ve been using this 4K Blu-ray player for the past two years on my PC and it has been amazing. I’ve been able to rip my 4K Blu-ray onto my PC and store them onto my home server. This thing is really easy to use you just plug it and play. The cable is a little short on it and uses an old android phone connector. It can be a little bit of money honestly for Blu-ray drive with me by LThe cable is a little short on it and uses an old android phone connector. It can be a little bit of money honestly for Blu-ray Drive by LG. It is reliable I’ve used it on laptops and desktop PCs, and haven’t had any compatibility issues both on Mac and on the windows.

Does Everything I Want and More!
I bought this seven months ago in October 2020 and it's been great so far. I am a Mac user and I am able to rip Blu-rays with MakeMKV, I have done DVD and Blu-ray authoring (with a separate application, not the included ones because they’re PC only) and I’ve burned dual-layer Blu-ray discs and dual-layer DVDs. It should also work for triple layer discs such as 100GB Blu-rays, but I’ve not tested triple layer discs, only dual layer. When I’m burning discs, it’s remarkably quiet; at least, I can’t hear it over my MacBook Pro fan unlike other drives I’ve had. I love that this drive has a pop-out disc tray and a pinhole ejector. When discs periodically gets stuck inside, you can stick a pin in the hole and get the disc tray to manually open. It plays all of my commercial 1080p Blu-ray movies. I don’t own any 4K Blu-ray movies nor do I have a computer monitor that supports 3D video, so I can’t speak on the 3D & UHD capabilities of the drive. Software: Mac Users- We’re on Our Own I primarily use the Mac and I am aware that the included Cyberlink software is several years old and works on the PC only. Mac users don’t need any extra software to rip with MakeMKV, but you will need to go find your own software to play Blu-ray movies such as MacGo Blu-ray Player and you’ll likewise need to hunt down a decent Blu-ray authoring software (Roxio Toast 19 Pro is rubbish but it can potentially get the job done as long as you use Verbatim discs only). PC Users- The Software is Old but Adequate PowerDVD 14 is old but it does exactly what it says on the tin- it plays Blu-rays. Power2Go 8 does CD/DVD authoring and data CD/DVD burning, but it only burns data Blu-rays, it doesn’t do Blu-ray authoring, which is unfortunate. If you’re a PC user that wants to do Blu-ray authoring, you’re up the creek without a paddle using the outdated bundled software that comes with this drive. Power2Go 11 and newer allegedly does Blu-ray authoring. Verdict: This Drive is Amazing All in all, I’m very happy with the drive. It’s been quite reliable. Mac users shouldn’t count on utilizing the software, but the drive itself is capable of doing literally anything- writing dual and triple layer discs, playing UHD, 3D, etc. This Blu-ray drive has earned its 5 stars.

Good 4K UHD Drive with LibreDrive & Fast Ripping Support
Works extremely well, especially with LibreDrive for watching and ripping up to 4k blu-rays with no problem. Reads and writes extremely fast, is very compact and affordable. The only downsides are it uses an ejecting tray, which feels flimsy, and it gets very very loud when reading/writing discs. However, if you are gentle with it, it should last a while.

Good drive, one caveat
When I received the drive today, there was no surrounding box or cushioning. Someone slapped a shipping label on the OEM box and dropped it in the mail. The box took some damage, but fortunately it did not reach the contents. The drive itself is very compact and quite attractive. The power/data connection is microUSB. The included cable has double USB-A connectors. Some computers do not supply enough juice to run the unit by itself, so there is a second USB connector just for power. I plugged mine into a USB-C adapter, and it runs just fine without a need for the second plug. The drive seems to function just fine. It has read and played Blu-ray disks, DVDs, and an audio CD. I have burned a data DVD with Toast 20, and it functioned just fine (write speeds ran from 4x to 7x, which is excellent). It read from an UHD 4K disk just fine, but could not play the movies. This problem is because of the lack of software for 4K disks for the Mac. It will play 4k files just fine, but the two major software packages for playing Blu-rays on Mac don't yet handle 4K Blu-ray disks yet. Leawo says a future update will address this. Macgo player doesn't say anything yet. One issue: this little drive is noisy at times. When playing or burning disks it's relatively quiet. When spinning up or down or moving the head around, it can be quite noisy. Still, I'm happy I bought it. My experience with it is short, but so far, so good.

Works with MakeMKV for UHD 4K discs after firmware flash
I bought mine used, and it came looking new, with all the cables and software, was packed in the original box, just like it was when new. Without flashing the firmware it would rip standard BluRays with MakeMKV. In order to rip a 4K UHD I had to flash the firmware, which was simple and quick and the instructions and code for the terminal are all there on a YouTube video one of the firmware guys from MakeMKV made. Go to the MakeMKV forum to get the firmware files, download the one that's name is, "The all you need firmware pack". After unzipping it you will see the one for this LG drive. First 4K disc I tried didn't work on ripping, they said clean disc even though it was new and had never been played. I tried the Oppenheimer 4K UHD disc that had just gotten delivered, ripped fine, then I encoded it with Handbrake, then stored it on my Plex server "Asustor AS6702T". This drive wasn't noisy or any of that, glad I got it so now I can put 4K movies on my server.

Gail (Giant fAIL)
I own three Laptops. It will not work with Linux. Apparently, there is a somewhat complicated work around. The Laptop I bought in July does not have a n optical disc player. I thought I could use this, but windows 11 won't inspire it to do anything. It powers up and I can see the movie files, but it won't play the movie. The enclosed disc does not work. I feel like I have been time warped back to the ancient days of "plug and pray." I purchased this to turn my old (2004) Laptop into a Media Player which has a DVD recorder. It has dual boot Windows 7 and Linux. I intended to use it with Linux because it is more stable than Windows, it runs faster than Windows, and it takes up less disc space than Windows, there is no license, key or activation, I don't need to provide my personal information and Linux is free as well as a great deal of software. My recent Windows purchase required nearly every piece of my personal information. Trackers will provide the rest of the information. It had been ten years since my last new computer, so I thought it was a good idea to buy a new one. I can make this work, but the average person would have trouble. For my equipment, it doesn't work out of the box. I have owned and used computers since 1983. I also have a degree in computer programming. It is the criminals in the world that has forced manufacturers and and software creators to make this difficult. I just wanted to have something to watch during my move to another state.

Great choice
A bit loud (high pitched) but works great. Rips BRs and DVDs out of the box. Haven't tried downgrading firmware yet but also don't have a need for UHD rips just yet. Definitely a solid choice for my needs. A bit on the pricey side. Otherwise easy to use, compact, and seems to be made well.

Going strong after a year of heavy usage
I've been using this for a year now and it's held up well. I've ripped at least a hundred blurays and a bunch of DVDs/CDs. I just burned a bunch of blurays back to back and it's still holding up. Sometimes it acts weird or has trouble reading, but for the most part it's been smooth!

LG Electronics BP60NB10
Christian O.

Good Bluray Player
LG makes really good products and the same is for this DVD/Blu-ray player. It's compact and does the job with no issues. It comes with CyberLink Media Suite 15 disc and plays my Blu-ray movies no problem. At this price range it's a good player. Yes it has a plastic case but most DVD\Blu-rays are, hell even compact disc players back in the day was plastic and they were fine. I do recommend this player for the quality, price and performance plus the added software that you can register. As a side note you can copy all the files from the disc and keep as a backup and it'll still install the software and drivers for the player without issues.
