I have been getting into making my own beauty products because I am tired of the scents and chemicals in the ones on the market and shea butter is a very common product in many of them. I chose this brand for many reasons but mostly because of the organic, unrefined, fair trade and pureness of the product itself. Upon receiving the butter I opened it and noticed that it is packaged inside the bag and that is wonderful because it is a soft product and that extra protection is appreciated. The butter is a soft cream, almost white color and soft to the touch (see photo, I keep it in that plastic container so it is not included). The scent is very subtle and wonderful on its own but it also takes essential oils very nicely and evenly. I added a few ingredients to make lotion bars (see other photo) and it melted, blended, formed and solidified beautifully. I know that this one pound package will last for quite as while as it is high quality to you do not need much to get results. It is 100% pure African Shea butter, vegan, gluten free, non GMO, organic and is unrefined. It has a melting point of 80 degrees F so store it accordingly and in a dark place. I have had no issues with this product at all. There are so many uses it is crazy! LOL. I love using this right out of the shower or bath on my warm skin because it melts and works its way into my skin keeping it softer and moisturized (and I have dry skin). I don't think I can get a better product this this and am very happy with everything about it. I thin the price is nice as well and though it might be higher then other products the quality is worth it. I would recommend this product/brand to all.

Perfect!! Beautiful, raw, organic Shea butter. You can tell it’s authentic by the off white color and the natural nutty scent. It holds its block shape at room temperature and melts as you rub it in. For people who aren’t familiar with raw unrefined Shea butter, the nutty sent is one of the main markers. If there is no scent, it’s been refined. The scent goes away a few minutes after rubbing it in, or you can add a couple drops of skin safe essential oil, although I prefer the Shea butter alone.

I’ve been using organic refined shea butter for a while now, and overall, it’s a very solid, versatile product—especially if you’re looking for a simple, multi-purpose moisturizer without a strong scent. First, the texture. Refined shea butter is typically smooth and creamy compared to unrefined versions, which can sometimes feel grainy. This one melts easily in your hands and spreads well on the skin without too much effort. It does feel a bit heavy at first, but once it absorbs, it leaves the skin feeling soft and protected rather than greasy. One of the biggest differences with refined shea butter is the lack of scent. If you’ve ever used unrefined shea butter, you’ll know it has a natural, nutty smell that not everyone enjoys. This refined version smells better, which makes it much more user-friendly. In terms of performance, it does a great job at moisturizing dry skin. It’s especially effective on rough areas like elbows, knees, and heels. I’ve also used it on my hands during colder weather, and it helps prevent cracking and dryness. For facial use, it works best in small amounts, particularly for people with dry or sensitive skin. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, it might feel a bit too heavy.

This is the first time I have ordered plain shea butter. It’s a huge brick that will last a long time. I just took a little bit and rubbed it into my hair. Then I combed it and scrunched it. Wow, really felt amazing. I so much prefer this to all those chemical hair products. I can use it on my skin, nails, and lips to moisturize. I also got it to use as a heat protectant for heat styling my hair, but I just like the style without doing anything more after putting this in my hair. It’s basically made for wash and go. I air dried before adding it but could probably use it on wet hair too. I was using jojoba oil to moisturize my nails because they were dry and turning white. This will be much less expensive to use and easier than a liquid oil. So glad I ordered it.

While I love the texture and how it works well with my ingredients, I don’t like the smell. I know sheas from different vendors may have a slightly different smell, but this brand has a slight sour smell to it so I have no choice but to use essential oils to mask it. Otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars.

This butter is soft, ready to use right out of the package. My nails have never looked this good. I’m so proud of them I won’t wear polish. I also use this as a facial moisturizer at night. It’s there to hydrate and soften my skin all night. In the morning I put some on and do other things while it soaks in. I also use it on my legs and I do not have dry flaky skin any more! It’s amazing. Best of all I have started using it on my feet and my feet have never been so soft. The long time calluses are gone. Really! It’s amazing. My feet are softer than when I go for a pedicure. No kidding, I’m ecstatic. I love that the butter is soft and melts so easily in my hands. It takes it a minute to sink into my skin but it’s luxurious and worth the wait, especially when you see the magic happen.

As far as I’m concerned, This is the best Shea Butter on the market. It’s so smooth and it’s great on my dry skin. I use it on my bald head, my legs, arms, feet and hands. Wonderful product! I will continue to by it. TOM H. Charlotte NC.

Very "greasy". Eventually, it penetrates the skin. The smell is weird. And the texture is hard. I'm not sure if I should mix it with something such as aloe vera to make it more creamy therefore easier to take and apply.
