Well built durable lighter with flaws.
Well built heavy duty lighter with nice flame that strikes every time. However, the lighter doesnโt stay lite in high winds. Neither does the flame adjust work. For $55 buckaroos Iโd expect much better from blazer. Iโm content with my purchase though.

Nice design, too bad its not reliable.
I have fought with this lighter for a long time, and I guess I am throwing in the towel. Any change in ambient temperature, seems to render it useless. If you expect it to work when its cold outside, forget it. I have tried 3 or 4 different types of butane, up to 11x filtered... it does not matter. The adjustment that the lighter allows is very miniscule too. When it works, its a nice lighter that won't cinge your eyebrows off, but when it doesn't work, you want to toss it in the trash. For the price I paid, I expected a little more....as this lighter is not even a good reliable backup, and its left me with an unlit cigar on several occasions.

Cool lighter made by an OUTSTANDING company!
I LOVE this lighter - the butane capacity is huge, you can see when you need to refill, and it lights reliably. The BEST part? Blazer's incomparable service and commitment to their products. The lighter was initially purchased from a subpar vendor who refused to help me while the lighter was still under warranty and bounced me back to Amazon. What did Amazon do? Said I need to contact the vendor for help because it was characterized as a non-returnable item. EVEN THOUGH IT ARRIVED WITH A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT RENDERING IT UNABLE TO LIGHT. I left that interaction believing I'd gotten scammed and chalked it up to an expensive lesson learned. In fact, I had all but given up hope entirely and was going to throw the lighter away. Then it occurred to me to bypass the middle men and go straight to the manufacturer - and I'm so glad I did! There's a page on Blazer's website with instructions on how to ship lighters to them for warranty/repair work. (By this time, mind you, I was WELL out of warranty and didn't have great expectations.) I am thrilled to report that Blazer not only repaired my lighter, they did it FAST and FREE OF CHARGE! They even included an extra ignition assembly (?) in the box. And that was only awesome interaction number one! Some time later, I accidentally snapped the hinge on the lid - 100% my fault. I still love the lighter and wanted to get it fixed. I would've been more than happy to pay the nominal service fee ($25) associated with this kind of damage, so I boxed up the lighter and sent it back to Blazer. I included a note with my PayPal email address so they could send me a bill after repairing the lighter. Well, I just received my lighter back in the mail, hinge fixed, and repair FREE OF CHARGE! In life, stuff is going to go wrong sometimes and your things are going to get damaged. I firmly believe how a company responds to such instances speaks volumes about how much they appreciate their customers and stand behind their products. BOTTOM LINE: If you've been eyeing this lighter, DO IT. The functionality alone is worth the price, let alone the service that stands behind it. I am a bona fide Blazer customer FOR LIFE!

Elegant design, perfect flame
I love these lighters, and the others by Blazer that use not just the same design but even the same parts. The mechanics of this lighter are sophisticated yet simple, it can be taken apart in seconds, and safe, correct, easy reassembly is guaranteed by its design. In fact this design is many times safer than many competing devices, anything that uses soft tubing to get fuel to the burner suffers inherent risks, exacerbated greatly by reassembly. When the soft tubing comes off, on either end, human nature makes it into a face bomb. Colibri, Prometheus and many others share that bad design; Blazer uses a brass tube that can only go into the burner in one place, it's virtually impossible for the fuel to be misdirected. There is no place in a Blazer where unburned fuel vapor can collect -- it's by far the safest design I've seen. While it's working properly the Blazer lights on the first click 99% of the time or better, and it's that reliability that has me hooked. I also like the ergonomics, it has a good, high-quality feel in your hand, the striker button is wide and it takes little effort to light. I even like the aesthetics, a clear lighter has the ultimate sight glass; the case looks rugged and outdoorsy -- all in all a great little torch lighter! So why only 4 stars? If you're thinking, "I bet he never gives 5 stars," think again (or read my other reviews.) I would love to give this thing all 5, but there's one slight problem: Blazer doesn't sell parts for it. I've been using these things going on 10 years, and I've had to buy about 10 of them. I had one that lasted 2 1/2 years, under what most would consider "industrial usage" (being lit 100-500 times per day.) And I had one that failed in the first week -- its igniter electrode fell out. That one was easily repaired using parts from my bone yard, but still though. I think I've only sent back one while it was under warranty; I've sent back 3 or 4 that were not ($25.) It takes a few weeks for them to turn it around, and they tend to focus on the specific problem, rather than taking a holistic approach. (I got one back from repair with a leaking fill valve.) Since it can be purchased new for $35-$50, and new ones arrive quickly, I typically go that route -- having at least one working one in hand is a requirement of mine. So to wrap this lengthy review up, am I going to continue buying these? Absolutely! Would I recommend it to others? Most definitely. Is it a good value? I think so, but your mileage may vary. Could it be perfect? No, everything mechanical will fail eventually, there's no escaping it. Could it be best case? Yes, if only they would sell me parts!! (As is it's near best case.)

Best lighter
This lighter is great. I smoke cigars, and cigars take a bit to light. You need a good butane lighter to get the job done properly. I've had a few different lighters, but they all had some issues. I'm not sure where I read the first review for this brand, but the price initially kept me away. Granted, it isn't too expensive, but most butane lighters go for a lot less. Well: this one is worth every penny. I just ordered my second. It is so straightforward, basic, and yet surprisingly easy to use and dare I say "fun"? If a lighter can be fun to use. I'll tell you one thing about Japanese technology: they know how to make cars and lighters. My Honda starts every time I turn the key. My lighter lights every time I push the button. Drive a crappy car for a couple of decades, and light a hundred cigars with crappy lighters, and you will start to have "fun" with things that work too. This lighter works. Enough said. 5-stars easily.

A letdown torch that works but not all that well
Disappointing performance!!! The flame is good when in decent conditions, not certain how sturdy in high winds though. Flame adjustment does NOT work, so not a great torch lighter for my purposes. I had a Colbri a few years back that far surpassed this!

A torch that never lets you down.
A bit more expensive than other torches, but this thing has never let me down, always lights on first try. Just be sure to purge when you need a refill and this thing will never let you down either!
