Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide Men's Razor, Handle & 1 Blade Refill

Oh my gosh!! My husband spent a fortune buying every kind of electric shaver you can buy and he tried every kind of hand held razor you can find and all he could do was cut up his face. First let me state that my husband is 60 years old and he thinks his hair is changing a bit and a lot on his face. He never had problems shaving before but now and for the past few months he's been miserable. He would cut his face to pieces and he was so unhappy with it, he really didn't know what to do. Now this is how we found this Gillette Fusion razor. I read a lot-and I do mean a lot!! I read all my books on a Kindle. If you're familiar with Kindles, you know that when you open it up (mine has a really pretty but light weight protector on it) ....first pops up and ad for something. It can be anything, really. One day I opened my book to read and up popped this Gillette Fusion Proglide Men's Razor and I decided to order it. Why not, he'd tried everything else and I KNEW of ALL the ones he'd tried. I thought: Big deal, this is will probably be like all the rest but I'm going to order it and at least let him give it a try!! Well lo and behold: This razor DEFINITELY TOOK THE CAKE-!! CAN YOU SAY: OH HAPPY DAYS?.........He was as skeptical as he was with alllllllll the rest he'd tried....and lo and behold........it glides over his face and he can shave alllllllllllllllll day long with it and it ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT CUT HIS FACE....ABSOLUTELY NO WAY-!!!!!! He practically started jumping up and down on the bed telling me how FABULOUS this razor is!! He's been using it since around Christmas time and he's still using it and EXTREMELY HAPPY with it-more than happy! NOT ONE ITTTY BITTY NICK with this razor!! I hope this works for your husband. I was so thrilled that I found that ad on my Kindle!! He had given up looking at razors at the store because he was tired of getting cut up!! He had gone back to electric ones even if they didn't do a good job, at least he wasn't getting cut up every day. So this razor is worth more than mere words can say for him!! Now listen to this ladies: Don't borrow this razor from your husband because they are very inexpensive and you can have your own and they will shave your legs as smooth as a baby's behind!! You'll love this razor, too!! I have very fine hair and this razor will not cut you so you'll be very happy with it-guaranteed!! If it doesn't work for you-then I will go and eat rocks!! I have the smoothest legs ever!! They downright shine-without any lotion on them!! So don't think twice about giving this razor a try!!

I'm a girl, but I have always loved using men's razors. They always seem sharper and give a much closer shave since they're made for coarse facial hair. I hadn't tried the Gillette Fusion Proglide before, but I'm so glad I did! I can definitely tell that the sharpness of the blades has been a total game changer for my razor-burned/sensitive skin. It's always hard for me to shave behind my legs, around my ankles, and also my underarms, but this razor pivots around all those awkward angles, and it really helps me! It makes it so much easier/faster for me. I have to shave every time I shower, so this is something that is important for me to not have to even think about. I can just get it done and not worry about constantly changing out blade refills in hopes that I get a closer shave. This razor definitely a better quality than a lot of razors I have tried. I gave up on subscriptions services. I thought it would be easier to sign up for one, and the price seemed good too. For some reason I really wanted to make myself like those razors, but I finally realized they were either really poor quality, or the blades would feel like they weren't sharp enough at all. I even tried the more expensive versions, but I would always instantly regret it after I got them in the mail. I have tried so many different types of razors in general, but I always come back to men's razors. These Gillette Fusion razors are great quality for a great price. It comes with one razor blade attached, and it has one blade refill included. It also comes with a little holder for the razor. I don't have to worry about changing out the blade that often, because they stay sharp for awhile. I'm definitely not going back to any kind of other razors anymore!

Forget Dollar Shave club or buying new blades at the pharmacy. This is a much better deal and you get a whole new razor with two blades for the cost of half a pack of replacement blades. I like this method better because if they come out with a better razor next year I am not obligated to use it for a year or six months waiting to use up all the replacement blades I purchased. In terms of the shave quality this is the nicest I have felt. i had the Mach 2 for 4 years then got a free Proglide non ball razor from Gillette. The shave was better but by far this is the smoothest shave yet. I hear people talk about a safety razor or straight blade but "ain't nobody got time for all that." The shave is adequate and lasts about two and a half days, Cuts are very rare and the precision blade on the back of the razor blade is great for lining up side burns and under the nose shaving.

Gillette Fusion Proglide Men's Razor With Flexball Handle Technology and 2 Razor Blade Refills I bought this for my husband as it seems he's never happy with his razors! Gillette products have always been quality products and the Fusion Proglide is no exception. I even used it once when I ran out of blades for mine and I loved the way it shaved my legs. I bought extra blades thinking it would be like all other razors he's had and would be needing them very shortly. Well these extra blades are still unopened because he is still able to use the ones that came with the razor-which in itself is amazing! The grip on the razor is awesome, not slipping out of your hands when wet nor did the head fall off when dropped. I truly recommend this and so does he!

I've been a longtime Gillette customer since I started shaving and have progressed through all of the 2, 3 and 4 blade designs. I already had a Gillette Fusion razor and was really agonizing about whether I should join one of those monthly shave clubs and save some $$. Well, it took me a while, but based on the economics (and my shaving pattern), sticking with Gillette and the Fusion blades just make the most amount of sense. The monthly clubs seem to send out 4 sets of blades for $X/month at the high-end. The Gillette razors seem to last about a 6 weeks each (I have a goatee so less shaving) and wind up costing about $X/2 a month, or about half the cost. So I'm staying a Gillette customer and keeping their great blades and great handle all that much longer. This is just a replacement for the current Fusion handle I have which I loved. It still works, I'm just getting a fresher handle for the heck of it.

I have used the "Power" version of this razor for years, but ran out of blades forever ago. I picked this up thinking it would be cheaper to just have a new razor with 2 new blades, rather than pay the higher price for the refill kits. My bad for not realizing this is NOT the "power" version but the regular razor! That said, even as the non power version, this is a GREAT razor that gives me a better shave than all the other brands I have tried! Additionally, since I do prefer the "power" version for an even closer shave, the blades are interchangeable! So, if you have the power version yourself, you can buy the Proglide refills and be fine, or you can simply stick with this razor and still have a great shave!

Before I review this razor head/cartridge system, let me give a quick history of my shaving evolution: disposables, electric, Trac-II, Sensor, Mach3, Fusion and vintage double-edged. I shaved with aerosol creams to gels to soap pucks to snobby British creams in search of the perfect shave experience. Here are my regular guy results: The double edged thing is nice when you have the time but sometimes life gets in the way of having time for a 15-20 minute shave. I have to shave almost every day and for that type of routine I have found the Fusion, in combination with some Arko soap, a brush and the RazorPit blade freshener (see my Wet Shaving Listmania for additional details) to be a decent combo of convenience, economy and comfort. The Fusion system is not my favorite cartridge system but as a result of its availability and periodic specials on refills, it is currently my go-to cartridge razor. As for the Flex-Ball, having "upgraded" from a standard Fusion head, this one is minimally different in my humble opinion. Plus there is a thin piece of metal that affixes the FlexBall to the handle that I suspect will cease to effectively work or even break in time. For the newest shaving gadget (which I totally fell sucker for), it works admirably and for a few dollars over what two cartridges would have cost anyway, I gave it a try. This razor is now in my travel bag. You will get a safe, comfortable, forgiving shave with the Fusion, but I am not sure the FlexBall is worth going out of your way to get.

Gillette Fusion Proglide vs. Dorco Pace 6 Plus. The easy winner here is the Gillette Fusion. Here's why; It's a smoother shave than the Dorco. Given the cost of $45 you'll spend to have 10 blades like the Dorco comes with it doesn't seem like the smart money. Here's the kick in the pants, the Gillette blades last forever compared to the Dorco blades and provide a super smooth shave for weeks at a time provided that you thoroughly rinse it after each use. This is in contrast to typical week or so you'll get with the Dorco. As it turns out for me, I'd need to spend more money on Dorco Blades just to keep up with the Gillette and I still wouldn't get as smooth a shave. I'd recommend the Gillette and the Gillette Fusion Proglide Manual Razor Blade Refills for Men, 8 Count. You'll spend $45.58 vs the $20.99 for the Dorco (which by the way is a very good system) but over time I think you'll come out ahead and you'll be very pleased with the Gillette product.

The Razor blade used by me in chronological order: (1) Gillette Vector Plus:- I have very sensitive skin, due to which the Double edge safety razor used to give me lots of nicks and cuts while shaving. Gillete vector plus got rid of that problem, plus it was way cheaper. (2) Gillette Fusion:- I received the free sample of Gillete Fusion Razor, before it was launched in INDIA. The free sample blade quality was Excellent!! One blade lasted for 6 Months in total. However, I never got the same performance from the cartridges, which I bought from the Shop, Mall and e-commerce website. One Blade use to last only 2 months. (3) Gillette Fusion Proglide Power:- I bought 2 pair of Proglide Razors, cause I thought maybe the first razor was not genuine, as it was made in China. Considering the cost, quality of the blade was not that good. The blade lasted only one month on both occasions. (4) Mach 3:- Average Quality. It is relatively inexpensive tho. (5) Mach 3 Sensitive:- Average Quality. (6) Mach 3 Turbo:- I never used it. However, I know that the blade is similar to Mach 3. The only difference is, it was having bit heavy metal handle. (7) Mach 3 Turbo New Look:- Wow!! Good quality blade. It matches the quality of free sample Fusion Razor. It is definitely better than the Proglide and normal Fusion blade. The downside is the blade last only one month and it also required 2 cycles to get clean shave. I would say it was good value for money. (8) Gillette Flexball Fusion Proglide:- I am deliriously happy after using this Razor. Splendid!! Quality of blade. It is even better than Fusion free sample, cause now I have extremely thick and dense beard, but still got clean shave in just one round or rather one stroke. Price is also less. There are some other points which differentiate it from other Gillete Razors apart from the blade quality i.e. ' Precision Trimmer is sharp, whereas on Fusion and Proglide it was useless. ' It is easy to shave hard to reach places. I don't know how that happens, whether it is cause of Flexball or blade. It is hard to confirm that, but it does reduce the time taken for shaving----Flexball Proof ' Less effort! Which makes shaving experience enjoyable! --Flexball Proof ' No need to shave in the opposite direction----Flexball Proof ' No need to make faces to stretch and tighten the skin--- Flexball Proof ' Absolutely clean shave. I never knew before that my skin so smooth LOL!--Flexball Proof ' Lubricant seems different. It is also quite stiff. Now coming to Flexball technology, at first even I thought that it is a marketing gimmick, cause the movement of the blade is not visible. However, the flexball proof points mentioned above made me think otherwise. The blade moves slowly and gently enough to create a force which removes hairs from hard to reach places. So smart and thoughtful. I am so totally amazed!! It is indeed an engineering marvel! Whoever invented the Flexball technology, I salute! To those people. Cons: 1. We won't get it in original packing. There is no hard case provided to keep the razor. Even the case at the back to keep the catridges is missing. 2. Being a Trial pack, we're supposed to get it for free. o One common benefit that all Gillette Razors have is it doesn't gives you burning sensation, unless the blade is old. That is why I have never used After Shave lotion. On the contrary, whenever I go to the barber shop. I always get the unbearable burning sensation (sensitive skin). Conclusion:- ' Less or dense Thin and Soft Hair: You guys are lucky! I mean any Gillete Razor will work for you. In fact, you will not notice much of a difference in the performance of any of those Razor mentioned above. I would suggest you to use Mach 3 Turbo New Look and save some bucks without compromising the comfort level. ' Dense Thick and Strong Hair: For us Gillette Flexball Proglide Razor is a Godsend! gift. I was just about to switch to Electric Shaver. Thank god! This razor save my money. I have experimented with the lot of Razors just to get the optimum performance. This Razor provides best possible shave as compare to any other Gillette model. I don't mind the cons, cause for me performance of the blade is important in which it excel. The only thing left is how long it will last. Let's see.............
