Amazon & Viewsonic(What a combination)!
So far so good I've had my Viewsonic DLP Video Projector since Thursday(This is my second video projector purchase since Oct 2010.)I've already put about 13 or so hours of use on the bulb.I plan to use it an average of 4 hours a day & 28 hours a week. In 1 year that comes out to 1456 hours. We'll see if it gets anywhere near that mark though. By 2 years out that's about 2900 hours or just under the amount Viewsonic claims of 3000 hour lamp life.If I get that kind of lamp life from my very first Bulb I'll be a ViewSonic Projector owner for life. Just remember also run your machine in Eco Mode, decrease picture setting from the factory default(even if you use the movie mode, you can still decrease the brightness/contrast even farther in some cases.)Never shake or drop the projector, try to keep dirt & dust far away, do not(under any circumstances)unplug before the projector has a chance to cool off. If you decide to turn it on,leave it running at least five minutes. Finally don't run the projector at all times(2-4 hours daily use seems about right, here as that averages out to about 1450 hours after one year). If you can't get that kind use out of it,then what good does it do you in owning one?(Viewsonic would definitely have to own up to their warranty(regarding the bulb) if bulb failure occurred before the one year mark even with this kind of usage. That's not heavy or excessive usage at all. This kind of usage would be thought(by me at least) as normal considering you're the owner of a Video projector.Got use it sometime right? The ViewSonic PJD5123 SVGA(3D Ready) DLP Projector is really more of a business projector,as such it does not have any HDMI inputs.Only S-Video, Composite,& Two VGA/RGB inputs which(with the right additional cables(Component to VGA/HDMI to VGA can be use to deliver High Definition Video signals in massive screen sizes.)However it's not an HD video Projector as the native resolution is only 800x600 pixels.Still though the picture quality is excellent(real cinema quality picture even in SD the picture is amazing.)Colors are bright & extremely rich. Contrast is excellent(at least in my case as I am using this Projector in a darkened(nearly pitch black environment) for home cinema use(That is one reason I went for a business Projector as well to intentionally overshoot the lumens needed to project an image(this Projector has 2700 lumens light output & a 3000:1 contrast ratio) All have to say is seeing a childhood favorite(Back To The Future) blown up to 135" the entire height & length of my basement wall. With this projector's image quality & 5.1 Dolby Surround was just a really cool treat. If you've been thinking about skipping the local multiplex(do to the insanely high cost, the rude patrons, Ridiculous concession stand prices,Etc. Then why not give yourself,or your family a really cool Home Theater. You should start with a Projector(like the Viewsonic PJD5123 SVGA(3D Ready)DLP Projector.(It seems to be a good enough model based on cost, performance,& The really cool 3 year Parts/Labor warranty, the 1 year lamp replacement warranty,& 1 year free express exchange service from viewcare. It seems ViewSonic works hard to get customers & keep them. That's something I know I can get behind. ViewSonic PJD5123 SVGA DLP Projector 120Hz/3D Ready, 2700 Lumens, 3000:1 DCR

An excellent product
I have made excellent use of this projector in the months since I've purchased it. The quality of the picture is top notch, with very few issues. It's bright enough to be seen in medium lighting, which was a surprise to me. I use it in my outdoor theater area and once the sun has started setting, there are no real issues with viewing the picture. I would have liked to have the ability to connect products to it via HDMI, but the video input and VGA inputs were able to suit my needs just fine. I've had it overheat on me a couple times, and it appears to be very sensitive to movement. I also think it was missing a leg when it was sent to me, so I always need to place something underneath it to keep it steady and at the right angle. Beyond those things, though, this was an excellent purchase and I am not at all disappointed. It's easy to set up and take down and has made for many, many hours of movie and gaming goodness.

I don't like it but it will do...
! I just ordered the PJD5123/without the HDMI. and again only computer 2 input is working. 3 projectors(ordered/sent back 2 PJD5133) and only computer input # 2 works.!?!?. All I thought I could use/connect my blu-ray player, and watch movies in the backyard during summer/our in our living room looking at at a 55" projection or bigger, but it is only a good thought. BTW, yes, the projection is very nice!... We watch the Celine Dion concert dvd which I bought too. It is like a 720p screen, but I don't want to connect my computer that long/often and rather use my blu-ray player. Now, my projector, w/o HDMI, is in the garage with my new DA-LITE projector 70" screen only to be use occasionally during power point presentation starting next year. I hope the computer input #2 will not fail for years to come. I bought the projector as sort of replacement rather than buying a new bulb for an old projector. BTW, I was hooked by a review that you could connect a blu-ray player....and having a lot of DVD's and now blu-ray discs....maybe next time I could buy/afford a better projector which you could connect a blu-ray player! It could have been a big bang for a few bucks just a like one review said!?!/!?

so far real nice and a great deal.
I studied & studied and then three days prior to the Superbowl I decided on this one. I like that it has 2700 lumen and 30:1 contrast equal to or greater than some 1500$ models. I trust Texas instruments who developed the color system. I read a lot of reviews and some said the bulb life was short. On this I can't say but I am sure it will be tested in my home. Color is good and while it is easy to flip between about 8-10 presets, most of which the whites are a bit much I can still find a nice color tone. It has keystone adjustments that are nice and a remote that is easy to use. The zoom feature is cool and helps with projector placement. I can use this in either mid day or with lights on. Very light, I bought a 18$ mount and stuck it to the ceiling. I am sure that this is a great deal. I will let you know when the bulb goes. update may 15: Color out but only side by side to my LED. Plenty of room to adjust but no projection will compare to an LED. 400plus hours on bulb with no problems and appears to still be a great deal. Great for animated shows like family guy. It does not have a HDMI outlet, that would be nice for gaming. Plain Jane, good buy. I would recommend. UPDATE... Great product that runs well as expected and requires little effort once it is set up.
