Yes, but I don't recommend it. The picture quality from this cable is a lot worse than some other options, plus this one can develop an overheating issue that might add a "hiss" to your capture.

it used to work good for a few weeks. but now just gets hot and shuts off?

Before I returned mine, it would add a static hiss to the sound if it had been left plugged in for about an hour and would only temporarily go away if left completely unplugged for about an hour. I am under the impression these units have an overheating issue.
