NRG Innovations Race Steering Wheel Quick Release (Black Body/Black Ring), gen 2.0, NRG-SRK-200BK

I have an NA Miata that is setup for autocross and with the aftermarket racing buckets, the steering wheel made it very hard to climb in and out of such a small car. Bought this to adapt onto the existing steering wheel adapter and make the wheel removable so we could more easily get in and out of the car. WORTH IT! I know for some this is a status thing or a symbol, but for the functionality in a car with buckets, it 100% changes the game! One thing I would say, if you are like me and getting this to make an already installed aftermarket steering wheel removable, do yourself a favor and get the appropriate NRG short hub adapter...if you use this removable mount combined with a standard size steering wheel mounting kit you already had, you will have to reach for the signal stalk and it's just irritating. It's not a deal breaker, and it is by no means the fault of the seller/NRG, it was just an oversight on my part. I've been dealing with it for 5 years now and it still drives me nuts every time I drive it on the street and have to reach a little further for the wipers, headlights or signals. Eventually I'll pony up and buy the short hub, but that means taking it all apart and reinstalling, which I have just been too lazy to do...so do it right the first time. You'll thank me later. Installation is not difficult, just a little time consuming. Another thing to note, use locktite on all the screws. I didn't use locktite the first time I put it together and the screws started backing out and loosening a little later. I carried the hex key in the car and tested them before each time I drove, but after testing/tightening them a several times, I had to buy new screws cause the hex screws were starting to round. When I put in the new hex screws, I used blue locktite and they haven't backed out or had any issues since...so don't take shortcuts and just use locktite on the screws the first time. Great unit, solid build quality, well worth the money...PLEASE don't cheap out on a non-name brand removable steering wheel mount, just to save a few bucks. NRG has been doing this awhile and has a good reputation for a reason. You really shouldn't trust your life/steering to a non-name brand just to save a few bucks. It could literally be the difference between life and death.

This item was perfect but make sure you don’t get the carbon one it doesn’t have a ding cause the carbon fiber around the metal dilutes the sound if that makes sense but it feels like a nice sturdy quick release and it fit my momo steering wheel so it is compatible with that and the color is a nice black too!!

It looks awsome it works awsome i see why its well. Reviewed , i’m doing some custom work and taking a regular steering wheel and making it heated for a car with no power steering so I needed a larger wheel and this detachable hub seems very easy to modify and happens to match the CJW brand early bronco steering wheel hub adapter perfectly. I love it and it’s gonna work great for my purpose. I can’t wait to have my wiring finished.

Fits 88 RX7 as described. Compared part number with NRG website to ensure correct before purchasing. Simple and easy to install. Good construction. No issues.

Highly doubtful that this is a legit, authentic NRG product (since NRG's website clearly states that Amazon is not an authorized reseller). But I am only using this for sim racing, and not for the track, not for the street. Nevertheless, it seems like a high quality product... I wish they only sold the hub (male end for the wheelbase), for mounting to my Simucube 3 base. But, as a complete set, the wheelside quick release is the star here. Hearing that small 'ding!' when mounting it is good assurance that you are locked in. And releasing it doesn't take TOO much muscle -- it's relatively smooth going on & coming off.
