It is what it is; a cheap Chinese radio.
Audio is always reported as low. Must speak above a normal tone. Suspect the problem is with the microphone.

I purchased this radio and it worked great for 2 weeks, after that it would not transmit or receive! I contacted the seller and they refused to give me a refund. Don’t waste your money! Go buy a Anytone it’s only $40.00 more and so much better quality!!

An impressive small form-factor dual band radio
I installed this radio in my car as a replacement for a VHF-only radio. It performs well. The only reason I give it four stars for ease of use is because the font for the display is too small. Of course that depends upon where it is installed. Mine sits on the center console under the dash. It can be read from the driver's position, but I have to squint a bit. The speaker is on top and the whole case acts as a heat sink. The radio has a small fan in the rear for additional cooling, which is necessary during transmission. If you are going to do lengthy rag-chews, you might want a bigger radio that can dissipate the heat more rapidly.

Works Well For Me.
I have had no problems with my radio. I receive good signal reports from other Hams and find the received audio very good. My radio uses the Radioddity option in Chirp, not the QYT, so that made programming a little difficult at first. After determining that fact the programming is easy. I plan to buy another to keep one in my truck and the other in the shack.

mobile dual band ham radio
I needed a small dual band ham radio that would mount on the side of the console in my truck. This radio did the job. Like all the new Chinese radios, the user interface could be better. In most cases one has to use CHIRP to program this radio. The menu interface is difficult to use. I use CHIRP to program this and the other two Chinese radios that I have. For the price and size, it is a good deal.
