Cold Air Intake for 1991-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ | 4.0L - 10552

So to start, the only issue with installation is having to man handle the shroud a little to get it to fit flush. As stated in other reviews the tabs don't line up perfectly and take some elbow grease to do so. Other than that, super please with the installation process. As far as gains, u definitely get better throttle response with this. I live out in the mountains and was struggling with maintaining speed going up the mountains, that is no longer an issue at all. 1st time the tires spun in the xj on pavement lol. It also sounds great, u can actually hear the air being sucked into the cone and makes the jeep sound a little beefier. Theres is most definitely an increase in power, looks great under the good, functions better than i expected it to no doubt. Still getting five stars with the pain from the shroud because of the actual boost in throttle response and power. Can't beat the price either. I would definitely purchase again.

Nice intake, fairly simple install. However, it seems the lower mounting tab was incorrectly bent for my 92. It was a simple fix, just straighten that tab and rebend where it comes off the shroud (pictured). The clamps seem slightly too big, i will be replacing those. Also on my jeep there was a second line hooked to the intake, which this setup doesnt have a spot for (pictured). It runs to an emissions canister and can simply be capped off. Overall nice intake, good build quality, looks good, and decent price. Just needs some minor adjustments to better suit my needs

Def more rpms on shifts and power but mounting it requires some tweaking where it bolts into the vehicle

Perfect fit and easy installation. Doesn’t make much difference for power or acceleration but it does help increase the responsiveness of my car and the noises are a vibe

01 XJ. Good buy! Have to do a little persuading lining up the holes for the shield. But worth the money

It's a pretty basic kit. Not much to mess up. Or is there? The unit I received has the secondary hose attachment point welded on the opposite side. This is seen in the instruction photos and also makes the hose attach on the wrong side so you have to run an extension under the air pipe. I called customer service and they were nice, yet quick to know the solution. Assuming their whole last batch was welding incorrectly. I was not offered a correct part because these are built over seas and they do not have any spare parts. I can return for refund. I'll try to repair the issue my self. A little time with the welder and it should be easy enough to fix what should have been done correctly the first time. Also the shroud housing doesn't line up. The folds aren't in the correct spots so you need to bend and flex the tabs for a better fit. Not a DIYer, I'd stay away from this one.

Easy installation. Took some “persuasion” to get the heat shield on the bolts though. Love it and the Cherokee runs like a champ.

I love rough country and I own a lot of there products but this one has disappointed me greatly I’ve been running this filter for a month opens my hood to show it off to my dad and he noticed there’s holes in the filter maybe I got a bad filter but idk :(

Took me almost exactly one hour to fit, taking things steadily. I thought it would take all day based on the reviews. The instructions make it harder than it needs to be. Just start with the heat shield, as it comes without the sealing strip fitted, and bend the brackets to suit with a pair of grips. Mine were way off. I also only had the core support bolt and one of the air box bolts available. The other had transitioned into iron oxide. Once you've got everything aligned and bolted down, unbolt it, fit the strip, and re-install it before adding everything else. It will all go in fine, especially if you lube the rubber parts a little first. It will seem to sit proud, as if it's going to hit the bonnet when closed, but mine doesn't. I'd give it five stars if it wasn't for the inaccuracy of the brackets. The price really is good, especially compared to K&N.

Non of the bolt holes lined up at all and it only covered half of the air flow. A little twisting and bending, then I got it to fit. Definitely not impressed. But it looks and sounds good now.
