Great reference tool for chair massage. As a new massage therapist with minimal schooling on chair massage this was a great reference guide.

Ralph's book goes in to detail, with the history and benefits of chair massage. The book goes over the anatomy of the areas massaged in the chair. Showing the techniques for a relaxation or therapeutic routine. When i went to massage school , our instructor did not spend very time on this modality. The author has a 3 dvd set that goes nicely with the book. I would recommend this to any therapist looking to sharpen his skills with chair massage.

I'm glad I got this book to help me with the dvd set I ordered by the author. Sometimes it's good to have both a video and still pictures to get an better idea of how to perform a certain technique and that seems to be the case with me. Plus it's very enjoyable to read p on the history of Chair massage and how it's helped the Massage profession to move upwards in the health care world. I'm also looking forward to expanding my techniques to better help my clients and give even better results to alleviate pain.

I have some of my own injuries myself so any little hints I can get are a help. I think the book is well written with good pictures.

Way exceeded my expectations, intelligent and insightful

I accidentally ended up paying 6x more for this book than similar ones on the market. The high price always came up and I thought it was a larger text book. Plus the condition was not the greatest like I had hoped. It was mostly new, but some of the pages were bent and you can tell people have thumbed through it a lot. I wanted a new book, not a well flipped through book. I'm keeping it, because it was shipped internationally, and returning it would cost more money and hassle. I'm still happy about the content in the book, but I will definitely do a more thorough price comparison next time.

I have recently become certified as a Massage Therapist, but did not receive any training in chair massage. I wanted a good visual guide so that I could apply what I already know and be able to offer chair massage as a service. This book is a good guide for me.

This is a good book for you chair-massage people out there.

Good book

Although this is a book on chair massage, it is excellent as an introduction to massage in general and is one of the best massage books I have read. {I have also bought several books on chair massage and it is by far the best on that subject).I normally "cut to the chase" and skip all of the introductory chapters of verbiage to get to the "routines" or techniques. In this case I read the introductory chapters, got out my yellow highlighter and highlighted much/most of the text. The book presents in detail the anatomy involved with the aid of fantastic LWW artworks and describes clearly and logically the purpose of the techniques used. Hence, rather than mindlessly using a "routine", the reader gets a clear understanding of what massage is (or should be) all about and is then free to massage the subject as appropriate. This is in contrast to much that I have read, seen on the web or even in massage classes. A really great book

Best book on the subject, very detailed and thorough guide to chair massage but would be useful to anyone interested in massage.
